Dlaczego tłumaczy się literaturę piękną na regionalny język kaszubski?
The topic of the article is an attempt to answer the question: Why are translations into Kashubian made? The analysis draws upon the distinction between weak and strong languages. Translations into regional language are considered as a symbolic phenomenon; which is to contribute to the preservation of regional identity and the development of minority language and culture
Evgeny G. Pivovarov
The paper is an attempt to review and clarify data concerning Mikhail Lomonosov’s grammar studies and especially the history of his famous “Russian Grammar”. The authors lay out the timeline of its creation and publication. They describe the main steps on its way from the author to the reader and discuss evidence of its manuscript versions. Scholars know of at least four handwritten copies, none of which survive or have been identified. Only a few related drafts known as “Manuscript 112” or “Materials to the Russian Grammar” are available in the archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences (published in volume 7 of his Lomonosov's Complete Works). The article examines two parts of this manuscript which were apparently written not by Lomonosov: 1) lists of words and drafts of sections devoted to different parts of speech; 2) comments on some paragraphs of the “Russian Grammar”. Comparison of handwriting samples shows that the first part was not, as previously suggested, written by Lomonosov’s long-time assistant and copyist Ivan Barkov, while the second part was probably written by Lomonosov's classmate and fellow worker at the Academy Aleksey Barsov
МЕДИЙНЫЕ НОВООБРАЗОВАНИЯ КАК ФАКТОР КОММУНИКАТИВНЫХ РИСКОВ
The paper analyzes media word creation in the context of its risk potential. On the basis of the modern socio-political press materials the author shows that unmotivated use of expressive neologisms can negatively affect the communication process and reduce its effectiveness: word-building neologisms can complicate the perception of a media text, distort the meaning of the information message, cause negative emotions in the recipient, lead to violation of ethical and aesthetic norms, etc. The risk potential of occasionalisms is considered in connection with their inherent and adherent expressiveness. The inherent expressiveness is stipulated by the structural and semantic features of the occasional words. Adherent expressiveness is connected with functional and discursive factors. The study of media neologisms allows not only identifying and characterizing the structural and functional features of the occasional lexemes, but also giving their social and ethical evaluation. It is necessary to draw attention of the linguistic community to the problem of communication risk potential since the consequence of communication risks can result in social, professional, political, and cultural risks. The research materials contribute to the further study of media discourse, word-formation neology and communication theory. They can also be used in the development of special courses for students of higher educational institutions, specializing in Journalism and Philology
ПЕРЕВОДЧЕСКИЙ ЭКСПЕРИМЕНТ И РАЗВИТИЕ ЭКСПЕРИМЕНТАЛЬНОГО ПЕРЕВОДОВЕДЕНИЯ В РОССИЙСКОЙ НАУКЕ О ПЕРЕВОДЕ
The paper provides a brief overview of approaches to experiment in contemporary linguistic research in general and in translation studiesin particular. With a focus on Russian translation studies, we attempt to categorize translation experiments with regard to aim, data and methodology. Procedural (activity-based) translation experiments are aimed at describing the process of translation influenced by various factors. Didactic (competence-based) translation experiments are aimed mainly at improving the quality of professional translator training, at the same time reflecting, to a certain extent, the patterns of the translator's verbal and cognitive activity and providing certain methodological frameworks for experimental translation research. Psycholinguistic (association, reception) translation experiments are mainly product-based and aimed at the target text recipient, describing the patterns of target text perception and understanding. We see empirical (experimental) translation research as a developing discipline within translation studies in the Russian line of thought. The immediate goal is to build a pool of translation experiments and work out a translation experiment standard; define the interdisciplinary boundaries and describe the metalanguage of experimental (empirical) translation studies; specify the requirements for experimental procedures, data, and an experimental setting, as well as for selecting and briefing the participants; describe online and offline experimental techniques, dependent and independent variables, and metadata
ЛЕКСИКОГРАФИЧЕСКОЕ ОПИСАНИЕ ТЕРМИНОЛОГИИ ТЕОЛИНГВИСТИКИ (НА ПРИМЕРЕ РУССКОГО И ПОЛЬСКОГО ЯЗЫКОВ)
The paper deals with the problems of lexicographic description of Russian and Polish theolinguistic terminology. We describe theolinguistics as one of the subdisciplines of linguistics, which main focus is on the reflection of religion in language. We present the most important achievements in the given field at the turn of the 20th and 21st cc., specify the relevant theoretical and applied aspects of contemporary theolinguistic studies. However, it is shown that there is a gap in the modern theolinguistic research – the lack of a comprehensive description of the terminology of Slavonic theolinguistics. An attempt has been made to give a lexicographical description of theolinguistic terminology – a draft dictionary divided into four chapters: alphabetical and thematical lists of Polish-Russian theolinguistic terminology; alphabetical and thematical lists of scholarly works, which were the source of terminology presented in the first two chapters. The analysis and processing of vocabulary and bibliography have been carried out using the classical and modern scholarly methods and the computer technologies. Terminology and bibliography of theolinguistics shall be presented in alphabetical and thematical (ideographical) order. There is a potentially wide spectrum of fundamental research problems in the field of Slavonic and particularly Russian and Polish theolinguistics. These disciplines can be further developed through the contacts with the leading centers of theolinguistic research in the contemporary world as well as with the help of rising interest of various scholars working in the fields of linguistics, religion, anthropology, etc. The dictionary can be used not only in scholarly work but also in the process of education
Универбизација во македонскиот јазик
The objective is to show the situation in the Macedonian language, from a contemporary point of view concerning the process of univerbation as one of the word creation tendencies of the modern language, pragmatically conditioned, that is, motivated above all from the language economy and reviewed from a functional aspect as mostly present in the colloquial language
Yнівербацыя/універбізацыя: сутнасць паняцця і месца ў тэрмінасістэме словаўтварэння
The article presents an attempt to characterize the essence of the word-formation concepts of “univerbation / univerbization / univerbalization” and to outline the circle of linguistic phenomena included by modern researchers in the sphere of univerbation / univerbization, as well as to consider the relation of the notion “univerbation / univerbization” with other concepts and units of synchronous word-formation. Also, taking into account the functions of word-formation, the nature of the semantic motivation, the ways and means of word-formation, the semantic and formal grammatical relations between the motivating base and the univerb, in the article the criteria will be formed that allows to include certain categories and groups of motivated units in the class of univerbization. We also propose a hierarchical structure of the field of the univerbization that depends on the actualization of certain criteria in the Slavic word-formation. The main provisions of the article are illustrated with the Belarusian language material
Stare i nowe niesufiksalne techniki uniwerbizacyjne
The article is devoted to non-suffixional techniques of univerbation. In the introduction the author explains how the term univerbation is understood in the linguistic literature. Next, she proposes her own perception of this term and phenomena. In the main part of the paper the researcher sequentially describes all of the non-suffixional ways of univerbation. They are as follow: cutting of derivational morpheme, compound, substantivation. The writer illustrates her considerations using the examples both from contemporary Polish and former development stages of that language
Yнивербацията/универбизацията и езиковата икономия в съвременните славянски езици
Univerbation is reviewed in the present article as part of the ways for achieving linguistic economy thanks to transforming multiverbal (adequate sustainable phrases) into monoverbal linguistic units (marshrutno (routed) taxicab > marshrutka), where we use morphological devices (suffixes) while keeping source phrase’s lexical meaning. We consider the issue about the relation between univerbation and word formation, between univerbate and derivative, thus creating univerbates is defined as “specific manner” of forming lexical units bordering the actual derivation
Sintagma i tvorba riječi
This paper discusses the close relation between syntax and word formation through syn- tagm. This relationship is recognized and determined by the motivation, structure and meaning of various constituent words. As it is usually the case with the modern word formation, the analysis is based on synchrony. However, since morphology has to do with the processes of word formation and their results, it is impossible to completely reject the diachronic approach
