Hvordan arbeider familieterapeuter med tema seksualitet og seksuell helse?

    No full text

Mega Yacht Design, Development & Construction related to the Project Management and Life Cycle of Maintenance

Master of Maritime Operations Maritime Technology and Management HaugesundThis master’s thesis investigates the intricate challenges and strategic approaches in the design, development, and construction of mega yachts, with a particular focus on project management dynamics and the subsequent life cycle of maintenance. Mega yachts, characterized by their size, complexity, and luxury, demand a holistic project management framework that integrates technical precision, stakeholder coordination, and sustainability considerations. The study is structured around several critical research questions: • What are the primary challenges in project management across different phases of mega yacht construction? • How do decisions during design and construction impact long-term maintenance? • What role do technology and innovation play in overcoming these challenges? • How can sustainability goals be effectively integrated into project management practices? • How do project managers handle conflicting priorities between luxury and sustainability? • How can project management practices be effectively integrated with the life cycle of maintenance in Mega Yacht projects to enhance overall efficiency? • How do regulatory compliance and safety standards influence decision-making in Mega Yacht project management and maintenance practices? The yacht industry is known for its discretion which represents the major challenge encountered during the writing of this paper, especially because of the specific aspects which include the confidentiality agreements and the proprietary and creative rights retained by the clients which impose restrictions on shipyards and other stakeholders, preventing them from openly discussing their experiences about yacht projects and limits access to detailed project documentation. It can be said that this is the main cause of why there is such a scarcity of literature dealing with research related to the yachting industry. This absence of comprehensive case studies or empirical data specific to mega yachts forces researchers to rely on fragmented insights from related industries such as maritime engineering or luxury construction. All these factors restrict the ability to analyze real-world practices comprehensively. To address these challenges, this thesis adopts a qualitative exploratory approach, leveraging insights directly from various industry professionals which have been gathered through the comprehensive survey. The following hypotheses have been defined at the beginning of the research, with the bold sections indicating the validated findings of this paper: • H1: Project management challenges in Mega Yacht development are/aren’t uniform across all project phases. • H2: Maintenance activities in Mega Yachts are/aren’t equally affected by decisions made during design and construction. • H3: The integration of project management practices has/doesn’t have a consistent impact on maintenance efficiency throughout the life cycle. • H4: Regulatory compliance has/doesn’t have a limited role in shaping project management decisions in Mega Yacht development. ii • H5: The use of digital twin technology has/doesn’t have a consistent impact on project management decision-making throughout Mega Yacht projects. • H6: Resilience engineering principles have/don’t have a limited effect on minimizing disruptions in Mega Yacht project management. • H7: Sustainability practices have/don’t have influence on project management decisions during Mega Yacht development. • H8: Effective supply chain management does/doesn’t substantially correlate with improved project management efficiency in Mega Yacht projects.MMO501

This is an accepted manuscript version of the article Gyawali, S., Svanes, C., Viken, A. F., Skulstad, S. M., Lindberg, E., Jõgi, N. O., Holm, M., Schlunssen, V., Thorarinsdottir, E. H., Real, F. G., & Lønnebotn, M. (2025). Asthma and Asthma Symptoms Associated with Endometriosis and Dysmenorrhea in a Nordic-Baltic Population. Journal of Women's Health, 34(5), 635-643. The Version of Record was published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. on 28 April 2025 and is available from https://doi.org/10.1089/jwh.2024.0170Background: Endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, and respiratory symptoms affect large numbers of women. A possible association between asthma and endometriosis has been suggested; however, this relationship is unclear. Dysmenorrhea is very common, and potential associations with asthma symptoms are not known. Aim: To study asthma symptoms associated with endometriosis and dysmenorrhea in women. Methods: We used data from the main and women’s questionnaires of the Respiratory Health in Northern Europe study, which included data from women (aged 39-65 years) from Aarhus, Gothenburg, Umeå, Uppsala, Reykjavik, Tartu, and Bergen. Current asthma status was defined by asthma medication usage or asthma attacks in the past 12 months. Asthma symptoms were defined as having ≥3 asthma symptoms in the last 12 months. The data were analyzed using logistic regressions adjusted for age, BMI and smoking status. Results: Among 4 778 study participants, 201 had endometriosis, and 2 154 had dysmenorrhea. Current asthma and asthma symptoms were reported by 14.9% and 12.9%, respectively, of women with endometriosis compared to 9.1% and 9.2%, respectively, of women without endometriosis. The associations of current asthma and asthma symptoms with endometriosis were statistically significant (OR:1.87, 95% CI 1.25-2.81; and OR:1.56, 95% CI:1.01-2.39, respectively). Similar associations were found for dysmenorrhea (current asthma: OR:1.48, 95% CI:1.21-1.81; ≥3 asthma symptoms: OR:1.61, 95% CI:1.31-1.97). Conclusion: Our study revealed that asthma symptoms were associated with both endometriosis and dysmenorrhea. The associations with dysmenorrhea, which affects a large proportion of women, were almost as strong as the associations with diagnosed endometriosis.acceptedVersio
