Gender Representation in Cultural Festivals: An Analysis of Women's Leadership and Gender-Related Themes
This chapter examines gender representation in cultural festivals, with a particular focus on the involvement of women in artistic leadership and the presence of gender-related themes in festival programming. The analysis is based on a selection of 80 festivals across Italy drawn from the DBFest database by TrovaFestival, offering a broad overview of how gender dynamics emerge within diverse cultural events.
By tracing patterns of participation, visibility, and theme selection, the chapter identifies both persistent disparities and encouraging trends. Findings reveal that women are often underrepresented in decision-making roles, yet some festivals are consciously working to include more balanced perspectives and address gender issues through their content. In some cases, explicit thematic sections are dedicated to gender equality, while in others, subtle shifts in lineup curation and discourse point to evolving sensitivities.
Throughout the discussion, these findings are situated within existing research on gender and cultural production, highlighting the importance of ongoing, data-informed reflection to advance inclusivity

Working with trauma: The validation of the Italian Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale
Professionals who are in close contact with trauma victims are exposed to indirect trauma and may experience negative effects such as secondary traumatic stress (C. R. Figley, 1995). Secondary traumatic stress is characterized by avoidance of emotions or stimuli associated with the traumatic event, intrusive thoughts of the traumatic material, and increased physical tension (C. Figley, 1999). Bride et al. (2004) developed a self-report instrument to measure the extent of secondary traumatic stress in trauma workers, the secondary traumatic stress scale. The aim of the present study is to propose the Italian version of the instrument (STSS-I) and to investigate its factorial structure and other psychometric properties in a sample of 512 police, health care, and death care professionals in two steps. In Step 1, confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the three-factor solution, showing a better fit eliminating Item 1 from the first factor (avoidance). In Step 2, the differences between groups were examined, and interesting results were found in relation to occupation, length of service, and age; in addition, the relationships between the STSS-I total index and the three individual factors (avoidance, arousal, and intrusion) and other constructs (job demands, job resources, and outcomes) were examined, all of which showed significant relationships. These results confirm the validity of the STSS-I and make it a useful instrument for assessing secondary traumatic stress in the Italian population. The STSS-I can be a useful tool to monitor and maintain the well-being of Italian professionals working with trauma
Psychological aspects of the boundary: from Ego Skin to relationships with others and spirituality
The theme of boundary, of limit, of separation, runs through, in many ways, the entire history of psychological disciplines. It is therefore a broad, partly nuanced topic, which in this paper we will address from three perspectives: the boundary between the internal world, of
the psyche, and the external world, of reality and culture; the boundary between us, the groups to which we belong, and others, that is, the groups with which we are in a relationship; and the boundary between the material world, of the body and objects, and the immaterial world, of ideas and, for many people and cultures, of spirituality
Gaston Bachelard et l'action imaginative. Vers une éthique et une politique des images
The text explores Gaston Bachelard’s philosophy as a foundation for an ethics and politics of images in the contemporary digital age. Faced with an overproduction of algorithmic and artificial images, it argues for reviving the creative and transformative power of imagination. Bachelard’s poetics becomes an ethical response to the atrophy of imagination and a political tool against the commodification of visibility. His thought proposes an “ecology of the imaginary,” reconnecting human creativity with material and cosmic forces. Imagination emerges as a liberating, ethical, and educational force for transforming both self and world
Puntuazione e dintorni
Among the inscriptions dating from the 7th to the 6th century
BC, only three show punctuation marks: the Praenestine fibula, the Forum inscription and the Lavinium
plate. Here we will analyse in more detail the case of the Forum inscription which, due to its structure on
four faces plus the edge, lends itself to a more systematic analysis of the punctuation pattern. This very
point has always been very controversial in the history of studies also due to the particularities of the li-
onate tuff, characterised by numerous accidental holes often interpreted as punctuation marks. Recently,
thanks to decisive digital analyses, it has been possible to identify a coherent and non-random system, as it
should be for a ‘public’ text of Rome of such importance. The analysis has also shown the possibility of iso-
lating some epigraphic particularities and has opened a new perspective on the forms present there, both
from the practical point of view of engraving with different tools and of the executive part, as emerges
from the pairs of letters presented comparatively
