Cost-effective additive manufacturing of metal parts using pneumatic extrusion: investigation of the sintering process
PurposeThe purpose of this study is to develop a low-cost and efficient method for 3D printing CuSn15 bronze alloy parts using a pneumatic extrusion system. By avoiding complex processes such as filament preparation and solvent/catalytic debinding, the study aims to streamline the low-cost production process of metallic components while maintaining high mechanical performance. The research also seeks to evaluate the effects of different sintering temperatures and times on the mechanical properties of the printed parts.Design/methodology/approachA simple and cost-effective pneumatic extrusion system was designed to 3D print a metal paste containing CuSn15 alloy powders. The metal paste was prepared by manually mixing of CuSn15 powders, carboxymethyl cellulose and distilled water. The printed parts were subsequently dried and sintered at various temperatures and times to study the effects of these parameters on the material properties. Tensile test and scanning electron microscope analysis were conducted to assess the structural integrity and mechanical performance of the samples.FindingsThe study found that the pneumatic extrusion system enabled the successful 3D printing of CuSn15 bronze alloy parts without the need for complex processes. Increasing sintering temperature led to improved mechanical properties and decreased porosity. Increasing the sintering time at 820 degrees C led to a reduction in mechanical performance. The study demonstrated that the sintering parameters significantly influence the porosity and mechanical properties of the printed parts.Originality/valueThis study introduces a novel approach to 3D printing CuSn15 bronze alloy using a pneumatic extrusion system, eliminating the need for traditional filament preparation and solvent/catalytic debinding processes. The research provides new insights into the effect of sintering parameters on the mechanical properties of additively manufactured metal parts. Sağlık Çalışanlarında Mesleki Tükenme: Görsel Haritalama Tekniği ile Bibliyometrik Bir Analiz
In this study, the aim is to examine the changes in research on occupational burnout among healthcare workers and studies related to occupational burnout over the years. To achieve this, the existing literature is summarized to identify trends and gaps in the literature. In this context, studies conducted on occupational burnout among healthcare workers between 1998 and 2022 were included in the research using the "Web of Science" database. VOSviewer program was used to access bibliometric profiles and visual mapping findings of the included studies. The research illustrates the most productive authors, institutions, most cited authors, and collaborations among authors in the context of occupational burnout specifically among healthcare workers. Keyword analyses revealed that communication, behavior, palliative care, end-of-life care, Covid-19, and nursing practices were prominent concepts in relation to occupational burnout among healthcare workers. After 2018, telemedicine, quality improvement, digitalization, depression, evidence-based practices, and patient safety emerged as important concepts in publications. The obtained results are important for identifying the relevant topics in occupational burnout among healthcare workers and providing guidance for researchers working in this field.Bu çalışmada sağlık çalışanlarında mesleki tükenme ile mesleki tükenme üzerine yapılan çalışmaların yıllar içinde gösterdiği değişimin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaçla mevcut literatürün özetlenerek, literatürdeki eğilimlerin ve boşlukların ortaya konulması hedeflenmiştir. Bu bağlamda “Web of Science” veri tabanı kullanılarak 1998-2022 yılları arasında mesleki tükenme üzerine yapılan ve sağlık çalışanlarını konu alan çalışmalar araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmaya dahil edilen çalışmaların bibliyometrik profilleri ve görsel haritalama bulgularına erişebilmek için VOSviewer programından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma, sağlık çalışanları özelinde mesleki tükenmişlik kavramı üzerine en üretken yazarları, en çok yayın yapan kurumları, en çok atıf alan yazarları ve yazarlar arasındaki iş birliklerini göstermektedir. Anahtar sözcük analizleri ile sağlık çalışanlarında mesleki tükenme üzerinde iletişim, davranış, palyatif bakım, yaşam sonu bakım, Covid-19, hemşirelik uygulamaları kavramlarının ön plana çıktığı belirlenmiştir. 2018 ve sonrası yayınlarda teletıp, kalite iyileştirme, dijitalleşme, depresyon, kanıt temelli uygulamalar ve hasta güvenliği kavramlarının önem kazandığı görülmüştür. Ulaşılan sonuçlar, sağlık çalışanlarında mesleki tükenme üzerinde hangi konuların önem kazandığının belirlenmesi ve bu konuda çalışacak araştırmacılara yol göstermesi açısından önemlidir
Activities of the Ottoman Empire on the Galicia Front in the First World War
1914-1918 yılları arasında gerçekleşen I. Dünya Savaşı sonucunda imparatorluklar yıkılmış yerine ulus devletler kurulmuş ve savaş sonunda imzalanan barış antlaşmalarının ağır şartları nedeniyle dünya, yaklaşık yirmi yıl sonra tekrar bir dünya savaşı yaşamıştır. Osmanlı Devleti; savaşa 30 Ekim 1914 tarihinde Almanya ve Avusturya-Macaristan'ın dahil olduğu İttifak bloğunda katılmıştır. Çanakkale Cephesi'nin 9 Ocak 1916 tarihinde kapanmasının ardından Çanakkale Cephesi'nde görev yapan en seçkin askerlerden oluşturulan 15. Kolordu, Ağustos 1916 tarihinde Galiçya Cephesi'ne gönderilmiştir. 1914 yılı Ağustos ayından beri Avusturya-Macaristan ile Rus birlikleri arasında muharebelerin yaşandığı Galiçya Cephesi'nde 15. Kolordu, yaklaşık bir yıl süreyle görev yapmış ve önemli muharebelere katılmıştır. Bu çalışmada; Osmanlı askerlerinin I. Dünya Savaşı'nda Galiçya Cephesi'ne gönderilme kararı, Galiçya Cephesi'nde oynadığı rolü, Galiçya Cephesi'nden ayrılma kararı arşiv belgelerinden yararlanarak açıklanmıştır.As a result of World War I, which took place between 1914 and 1918, empires collapsed and nation states were established instead, and due to the heavy conditions of the peace treaties signed at the end of the war, the world experienced a world war again after about 20 years. The Ottoman Empire joined the war on October 30, 1914 in the Alliance Bloc, which included Germany and Austria-Hungary. Following the closure of the Çanakkale Front on January 9, 1916, the 15th Corps, which was formed from the most elite soldiers serving on the Çanakkale Front, was sent to the Galician Front in August 1916. The 15th Corps served on the Galicia Front, where battles between Austro-Hungarian and Russian troops had been taking place since August 1914, for about a year and participated in important battles. Effect of acupressure applied to hemodialysis patients on fatigue: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Objective: This study aimed to assess the effect of acupressure application to hemodialysis patients on fatigue and to provide guidance to future studies. Methods: Between 2004 and May 2022, the PubMed, EBSCO (Medline, CINAHL), EMBASE (OVID) Web of Science, T & uuml;rkiye Clinics (Turkey citation index), and TR Index were searched considering the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses checklist. It included randomized and non-randomized controlled trials. It also covered meta-analysis-related studies in Turkish and English and evaluated them based on the Joanna Briggs Institute checklist. The study used ('hemodialysis' OR 'dialysis' OR 'renal dialysis') AND ('fatigue' OR 'tiredness' OR 'weariness' OR 'exhaustion') AND ('acupressure') as the keywords and utilized RewMan5 and CMA programs for analysis. Heterogeneity was expressed through I2 and Q statistics. Random effect model was used, and Kendall's Tau were used for publication bias. Results: The meta-analysis that covered five (5) research articles published between 2004 and 2022 consisted of 475 study samples (intervention: control: placebo). Two independent researchers evaluated the full texts of these articles for quality purposes. Considering the hemodialysis patients, there was no significant difference between their average scores in studies that utilized the fatigue VAS scale (Z = 1.28; 95 % CI = -1.69, 0.36; p = 0.20), whereas there was a positive change in average PFS scores of the acupressure applied group in studies that performed the Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS) (Z = 3.58; 95 % CI = -1.15, -0.34; p = 0.0003). Conclusion: The systematic review and meta-analysis concluded that the acupressure applied to hemodialysis patients revealed an effective outcome on fatigue
Sociological Imagination in Hybrid Intelligence: Examining the Interaction of Human Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence with Knowledge Ecosystems in the Context of Strategic Innovation
Bu makale, dijital dönüşüm çağında insan zekâsı ile yapay zekânın bilgi ekosistemleri içindeki entegrasyonunu ve bu iki unsur arasındaki etkileşimi “hibrit zekâ” kavramı çerçevesinde ele almaktadır. C. Wright Mills’in sosyolojik imgelem yaklaşımı doğrultusunda, bireysel deneyimlerin toplumsal yapılar, tarihsel bağlam ve kurumsal uygulamalarla olan çok katmanlı ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Eğitim, sağlık ve kamu politikası gibi alanlarda yürütülen niteliksel vaka analizleri, nicel anket verileriyle desteklenmiş; böylece mikro ve makro düzeyde kapsamlı ve çok boyutlu bir analiz gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, yaratıcı düşünme, etik muhakeme ve kültürel bağlam gözetilerek yapılan yapay zekâ entegrasyonlarının bilgi üretimi, karar alma süreçleri ve stratejik inovasyon üzerinde olumlu etkiler yarattığını göstermektedir. Ayrıca dijital eşitsizlik, örgütsel yapı, sosyoekonomik farklılıklar ve yerel değerlerin hibrit zekâ süreçlerini doğrudan etkilediği ortaya konmuştur. Çalışma, kapsayıcı, etik, esnek ve uyarlanabilir bilgi sistemleri geliştirerek yapay zekâ ile insan zekâsı arasında güçlü bir sinerji kurulabileceğini savunmaktadır. Sosyokültürel duyarlılıkla desteklenen teknolojik gelişmelerin, adil ve sürdürülebilir dijital bir gelecek için yaşamsal önemde olduğu vurgulanmaktadır.This article explores the integration of human intelligence and artificial intelligence within knowledge ecosystems in the digital transformation era, focusing on their interaction through the concept of “hybrid intelligence.” Drawing on C. Wright Mills’ sociological imagination framework, the study analyzes the multilayered relationship between individual experiences, historical context, institutional practices, and broader social structures. Qualitative case studies conducted in education, healthcare, and public policy are supported by quantitative survey data, offering a comprehensive and multidimensional evaluation of the human intelligence- artificial intelligence interaction at both micro and macro levels. Findings indicate that artificial intelligence integration, when guided by creative thinking, ethical reasoning, and cultural sensitivity, enhances knowledge production, decision-making processes, and strategic innovation. Furthermore, factors such as digital inequality, organizational structures, socioeconomic disparities, and local values significantly influence hybrid intelligence dynamics. The study argues that inclusive, ethical, flexible, and adaptable knowledge systems can foster a strong synergy between artificial intelligence and human intelligence. It concludes that technological advancement, when integrated with sociocultural awareness, is vital for ensuring a fair, inclusive, and sustainable digital future
Isolation, identification and biological control of oliveknot agent Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi with essential oils
Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi'nin neden olduğu zeytin dal kanseri hastalığı zeytin ağacının önemli bir bakteriyel hastalığı olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bitki patojeni bakteriler zeytin yetiştiriciliği için önemli bir tehdit oluşturmakta, önemli ekonomik kayıplara ve verimin düşmesine neden olmaktadır. Antimikrobiyal uygulamaların bu patojenlere karşı etkinliği, sürdürülebilir hastalık yönetimi stratejileri için büyük ilgi görmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, i: Gaziantep ve Hatay illerinde hastalıklı zeytin ağaçlarından izolasyon yapmak, ii: Urlu dokulardan elde edilen izolatların morfolojik, biyokimyasal ve MALDI-TOF MS ile tür düzeyinde tanısını yapmak, iii: 16 adet uçucu yağ ile In vitro ve In vivo koşullarda biyolojik mücadelesini araştırmaktır. Çalışmada dal kanseri hastalık belirtileri gösteren 7 adet urlu ağaçtan 27 adet patojen bakteri izolasyonu yapılmıştır. Patojen bakteriler, Gram reaksiyon, LOPAT karakterleri ve Matris Destekli Lazer Desorpsiyon İyonizasyonu- Kütle Spektrometresi (MALDI-TOF MS) testiyle tür düzeyinde tanılanmıştır. İkili kültür testinde uçucu yağların 14'ü patojen bakterinin gelişimini baskılayarak 0.32-17 mm arasında engelleme zonu oluşturmuştur. Tarçın uçucu yağının 17 mm inhibisyon zonu oluşturarak en başarılı antibakteriyel etkiye sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Karanfil 10.42 mm inhibisyon zonu oluşturarak patojeni baskılayan bir diğer başarılı uçucu yağ olmuştur. Pseudomonas savastanoi Gazey2-1 ile yapay inokülasyonu yapılan zeytin fidanlarında bu iki uçucu yağın etkisi saksı çalışmasıyla incelenmiştir. In vivo deneme sonucunda pozitif kontrol grubunda ortalama ur ağırlığı 0.26 g olarak kaydedilmiş, en etkili olan karanfil ve tarçın uçucu yağı uygulanan fidelerde ise 0.13 g ve 0.15 g olarak ölçülmüştür. Karanfil ve tarçın uçucu yağlarının ortalama ur ağırlıklarına ait varyans analizi sonuçları pozitif kontrole göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık göstermiş ve sırasıyla %50 ve %42 oranında hastalığı baskılamıştır. Bu bulgular uçucu yağların çevre dostu biyopestisitlerin geliştirilmesi için ilgi çekici bir molekül olarak potansiyelini vurgulamaktadır.Olive knot disease, caused by the bacterium Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi, is considered as an important bacterial disease of olive tree. Plant pathogenic bacteria pose a significant threat to olive cultivation, causing significant economic losses and reduced yields. The efficacy of antimicrobial treatments against these pathogens is of great interest in the development of sustainable disease management strategies The aim of this study was to i: Isolation from diseased olive trees in Gaziantep and Hatay provinces, ii: To carry out morphological, biochemical and MALDI-TOF MS identification of isolates obtained from diseased tissues at species level, iii: To investigate 16 essential oils and their biological control under In vitro and In vivo conditions. A total of 27 pathogenic bacteria were isolated from seven trees exhibiting symptoms of branch cancer disease. The pathogenic bacteria were identified at the species level by Gram reaction, LOPAT characters and Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) test. In the dual culture test, 14 of the essential oils suppressed the growth of pathogenic bacteria and formed an inhibition zone between 0.32-17 mm. The cinnamon essential oil was found to have the most efficacious antibacterial effect, with an inhibition zone of 17 mm. Clove was also another successful essential oil that suppressed the pathogen by forming an inhibition zone of 10.42 mm. The effect of these two essential oils on olive seedlings artificially inoculated with Pseudomonas savastanoi Gazey2-1 was carried out in a pot study. The In vivo experiment yielded the following results as a result of the In vivo experiment, the average node weight was recorded as 0.26 g in the positive control group and 0.13 g and 0.15 g in the seedlings treated with the most effective essential oils of clove and cinnamon. The results of the analysis of variance of the average ur weights of clove and cinnamon essential oils showed a statistically significant difference compared to the positive control and suppressed the disease by 50% and 42%, respectively. The results of this study highlight the potential of essential oils as a promising molecule for the development of environmentally friendly biopesticides
Total carbohydrate and protein contents and some biological activities of edible Macrolepiota mastoidea mushroom
Mushrooms gained significant attention in the field of health due to their rich biochemical composition and strong antioxidant potential. In this study, the biological activities of Macrolepiota mastoidea mushroom were investigated. The total carbohydrate and protein contents of the mushroom and its antioxidant, enzyme inhibition, and antiproliferative properties were evaluated. According to the obtained data, the total carbohydrate and total protein contents of M. mastoidea were determined as an important indicator for the biological activities of the mushroom. In addition, the high levels of phenolic and flavonoid compounds revealed that the mushroom exhibited strong antioxidant activity. The results obtained in tests such as DPPH and FRAP show that M. mastoidea has a high capacity to neutralise free radicals. In enzyme inhibition tests, significant effects were observed on acetylcholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase, amylase, and glucosidase, suggesting that the mushroom may provide potential benefits in the treatment of neurological diseases and diabetes. In addition, it was determined that the antiproliferative effect against A549 lung cancer cell line was dose-dependent. These findings indicate that M. mastoidea is a valuable biological resource that can be used in health areas such as antioxidant defense, enzyme modulation, and cancer treatment. Advanced molecular and cellular studies are recommended to better understand the mechanisms of this effect
Optimization of Process Parameters for Steel Wire-Reinforced Polylactic Acid Composites Produced by Additive Manufacturing
The mechanical performance of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)-produced polymer composites is highly dependent on processing parameters; however, most studies focus on unreinforced polymers, leaving a gap in understanding how these parameters influence continuous wire-reinforced composites. This study addresses this gap by investigating the effect of hatch spacing and layer thickness on the tensile properties of steel wire-reinforced PLA composites. The Taguchi method was employed to systematically optimize mechanical performance, using an L9 orthogonal array to evaluate tensile strength across different process conditions. The results showed that layer thickness was the most influential factor, contributing to 75.861% of the total variance (F = 60.90, p = 0.001), followed by hatch spacing (21.647%, F = 17.37, p = 0.010). The highest tensile strength of 231.61 MPa was obtained at a hatch spacing of 0.4 mm and a layer thickness of 0.2 mm, confirming the importance of optimizing these parameters to improve interfacial bonding and minimize defects. Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio analysis further validated these optimal conditions, with the highest S/N ratio of 47.29 observed under the same settings. This study provides a structured approach to optimizing process parameters for metal-reinforced polymer composites, contributing to the development of stronger, more reliable FDM-produced composite materials
Optimization of Phellinus hartigii extracts: Biological activities, and phenolic content analysis
BackgroundMedicinal mushrooms are sources of natural substances with diverse biological functions. The study evaluated the biological activity of Phellinus hartigii (Allesch. & Schnabl) Pat. and optimized extraction conditions to the maximize its bioactive potential.MethodsExtraction was performed using a Soxhlet apparatus under varying conditions: temperatures (30, 50, and 70 degrees C), durations (1, 5.5, and 10 h), and ethanol/water ratios (0%, 50%, and 100%). Total antioxidant status (TAS) was analyzed across 17 experiments, and the optimal conditions were identified using response surface methodology (RSM). Extracts from optimal conditions were further analyzed for antioxidant capacity (Rel assay kits, DPPH, FRAP), anticholinesterase activity (acetyl- and butyrylcholinesterase inhibition), antiproliferative activity (A549 lung cancer cell line), total phenolic content (Folin-Ciocalteu method), and phenolic compound profile (LC-MS/MS).ResultsOptimal extraction conditions were determined to be 48.22 & ring;C, 9.04 h, and an ethanol/water ratio of 52.22%. The extract exhibited significant antiproliferative effects against the A549 lung cancer cells, with activity increasing in a concentration-dependent manner. The inhibition values (IC50) of acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase were 21.29 +/- 0.41 and 35.51 +/- 0.53 mu g/mL, respectively. The TPC (total phenolic content) value of the optimized extract was determined as 88.21 +/- 1.50 mg/g, FRAP value as 137.81 +/- 1.72 mg/g, DPPH value as 106.07 +/- 2.44 mg/g, TOS (total oxidant status) value as 9.27 +/- 0.06 mu mol/L, TAS value as 4.98 +/- 0.03 mmol/L and OSI (oxidative stress index) value as 0.19 +/- 0.002. LC-MS/MS analysis identified nine phenolic compounds, with gallic acid and catechin hydrate as the most abundant.ConclusionsThe extract of P. hartigii obtained under optimal conditions demonstrated substantial antioxidant, anticholinesterase, and antiproliferative activities, highlighting its therapeutic potential
Kemoterapi Yan Etkileri ve Youtube Platformu; Hastalar Ne İzliyor?
Objective: This study was aimed to evaluate the content, quantity and reliability of YouTube videos in which the side effects of chemotherapy are explained in a country sample. Materials and Methods: It was searched in the search bar on YouTubeTM on 29 August 2022 using the keyword 'chemotherapy side effects'. 55 videos between 0-20 min were evaluated simultaneously by 3 independent experts using the Quality Criteria for Consumer Health Information (DISCERN) scale and the Global Quality Scale (GQS). Results: The three most common uploader profiles were physician, patient and health-related website. The most of contents of the videos consisted of general chemotherapy and side effects, patient experiences. The DISCERN score average was 56, and the GQS was 3.00. When the scores of the video uploaders were compared, it was found that there was no significant difference between the scores of DISCERN (p=0.245) and GQS (p=0.647). There was a significant difference between the groups in the video duration, the number of likes and comments, and the rate of comments (p=0.001, 0.049, 0.004, 0.003, respectively). Conclusion: As a result, the quality of the information in the videos is good and the educational value is moderate. It has been determined that the videos uploaded by the patients are watched more, receive more likes and are viewed more frequently.Amaç: Bu araştırma ülke örnekleminde Kemoterapinin Yan etkilerinin anlatıldığı YouTube videolarının içeriği, niceliği ve güvenirliğini değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: YouTube'da 29 Ağustos 2022 tarihinde arama çubuğuna ‘kemoterapinin yan etkileri’ anahtar kelimesi kullanılarak taranmıştır. Sıralama kriteri olarak “Alaka Tabanlı Sıralama” uygulanmıştır. Kemoterapi yan etkileri ile ilgili olmayan, Türkçe dışındaki diller, sesi olmayan, tekrarlı ve 20 dakikadan uzun videolar değerlendirmeye alınmadı(n=23). 0-20 dakika arasındaki videolar incelendi. 0-20 dakika arasındaki 55 video Tüketici Sağlığı Bilgileri için Kalite Kriterleri Ölçeği (Quality Criteria for Consumer Health Information -DISCERN) ve Global Quality Scale (GQS) kullanılarak 3 ayrı bağımsız uzman tarafından eş zamanlı değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: En yaygın üç yükleyici profilin doktor, hasta ve sağlıkla ilgili web siteleri olduğu belirlendi. Videoların içeriklerinin büyük bir kısmını kemoterapi ve yan etkiler, hasta deneyimleri oluşturdu. DISCERN puan ortalaması 56, GQS ise 3.00 olarak belirlenmiştir. Video yükleyiciler ile puanlar karşılaştırıldığında DISCERN (p=0.245), GQS (p=0.647) olup puanları arasında anlamlı fark olmadığı saptandı. Video süresi, beğenilme ve yorum sayısı, yorum oranında gruplar arasında anlamlı fark saptandı (sırasıyla p=0.001, 0.049, 0.004, 0.003). Sonuç: Sonuç olarak videolardaki bilgilerin kalitesinin iyi, eğitimsel değerinin orta düzeyde olduğu; hastalar tarafından yüklenen videoların daha fazla izlenildiği, daha çok beğeni aldığı ve daha sık görüntülendiği belirlenmiştir
