Edime uygun ifa kuralı gereğince münferit borç kural olarak borçlunun borçlandığı edimi ifa etmesiyle sona erer. İfa yerine edim, edime uygun ifa kuralının istisnalarından biri olup, borcun adeta borçlanılan edim ifa edilmiş gibi sona ermesine sebep olmaktadır. İfa yerine edimin ifasıyla asıl borç sona erdiğinden, ifa yerine verilen ikame edimin ayıplı çıkması veya zapta uğraması halinde ikame edim karşılığında asıl alacağından vazgeçen alacaklının haklarının tespiti, uygulamada ortaya çıkan sorunların çözümü bakımından önem taşımaktadır. Çalışmamızın amacı, ifa yerine verilen ikame edimde ortaya çıkan maddi ve hukuki ayıplar sebebiyle alacaklının sahip olduğu haklara ilişkin öğretide süregelen tartışmayı ve Türk Hukuku bakımından benimsenmesi gereken görüşü ortaya koymaktır

This paper presents the necessary and sufficient conditions for monotonicity of the Mittag-Leffler function of the Le Roy type (abbr. MLR-functions), taking into account its special place in the theory of analytic functions. Mehrez and Sitnik studied the monotonicity of the ratio of sections on the series of Mittag-Leffler function (MLF) and developed some Tur & aacute;n-type inequalities. These inequalities have a wide range of applications in understanding the analytical properties of functions. The proposed work is a study for MLR-functions. The primary objective of this study is the development of the Tur & aacute;n-type inequalities and subsequent validation of these inequalities on specific intervals. In addition, the log-convex property of this function is analyzed, and the theoretical significance of this property is elaborated.Tekirdag Namimath;k Kemal University Scientific Research Projects (BAP

Have the Best Interests of the Child Been Ensured in a Natural Disaster? The Case of the February 6, 2023 Earthquake in Turkey

    No full text
Adults such as child's parents, caregivers or child development specialists and teachers around the child will reduce the negative situations and the risk of maltreatment that the child will face. This study is aiming to reveal the experiences of preschool teachers and child development specialists who work voluntarily with children in the earthquake area, interacted with and supported children after the earthquake on February 6, 2023 about child rights and children's welfare. This study is basic qualitative research and gathered data from four child developers and four preschool teachers. The findings of the study were categorized under the themes of "right to education", "right to shelter", "right to health" and "right to protection". Social systems, which are usually in place to protect children, collapse because of disasters, increasing the risk of rights violations, particularly when it comes to child abuse. It has also been observed that children's rights to participation, access to a suitable education, knowledge, housing, a nutritious diet, and water are at risk due to the vulnerability of children and infrastructure to natural catastrophes. Children need to be taught about natural disaster preparedness, mitigation, prevention, response, and recovery to reduce their vulnerability to disasters, both structural and non-structural safeguards must be put in place. Ensuring a child-centered, rights-based approach in disaster preparedness and response is crucial to safeguarding children's well-being and promoting their resilience in the face of future crises

    No full text
This study aims assessment of the level of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding endocrine disruptors. This crosssectional, descriptive study was carried out in the antenatal clinic of a hospital in Istanbul between January 25, 2023, and March 3, 2023. The study sample consisted of 350 pregnant women. The data collection tools were a Personal Data Form, an Endocrine Disruptors Awareness Test, and an Endocrine Disruptors Attitude Scale. The rate of women reporting that they received no education on endocrine disruptors is 99.7%. The average score for the Endocrine Disruptors Awareness Test was 9.15 +/- 3.19, and for the Endocrine Disruptors Attitude Scale was 73.26 +/- 8.51. There was a moderate positive correlation between the scores of the Endocrine Disruptors Awareness Test and the Endocrine Disruptors Attitude Scale (r= .52, p< .01). In conclusion, it is believed that pregnant women may be aware of toxic substances in their environment but may not recognise them as endocrine disruptors. It is recommended that the topic of endocrine disruptors be added to antenatal education.Turkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu (TUBITAK

On the Regularity of Opening Patterns in Building Facades (March, 10.1007/s00004-025-00815-1, 2025)

    No full text
The regularity of patterns of rectangular facade openings is investigated by proposing a prototypical instance of such patterns, together with an associated mathematical expression that quantifies the similarity of an arbitrary opening pattern with the prototype. By this, the degree of regularity of the arbitrary pattern becomes subject to prediction. The aim of the paper is to gain insight into this architectural attribute, because of its relevance to aesthetics, and because what exactly regularity is in this context, and what factors influence it, has not been described with precision to date. The principle of the novel regularity prediction states that the regularity of a facade decreases when its opening pattern is dissimilar to a grid of openings having equal shape, where the decrease is proportional to the number of variables the dissimilarity comprises. The validity of the prediction is successfully verified through experiments, based on a survey and inferential statistics

Reversal in Solvatochromism, enol-imine/keto-amine Tautomerism and (E)-(Z) Photoisomerizations in a Benzylidene Aniline Schiff Base Derivative in Different Solvents

    No full text
A novel Schiff base, (E)-4-acetyl-N-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)aniline (abbreviated as ANHMA), was synthesized and characterized using infrared and H-1- and C-13-NMR spectroscopies. Optical properties in different solvents were evaluated using UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The compound is shown to exhibit both positive and negative solvatochromism with reversal occurring for solvents with E-T(30)similar to 45 (e.g., DMSO). The solvatochromic behavior of the compound was found to be strongly dependent on the hydrogen bond abilities and polarizability of the solvent, the observed reversal in solvatochromism being explained by the change in the dominant solvent effects in non-polar and polar-aprotic solvents (H-bond acceptor ability of the solvent and polarizability) compared to polar-protic solvents (H-bond donor ability), according to the developed Catal & aacute;n multiparametric solvatochromic model. In all freshly prepared solutions studied, the (E)-enol-imine tautomer of the compound was found to strongly predominate over the keto-amine tautomeric forms, the latter increasing their populations over time in the presence of H-bond donor/acceptor species. Irradiation of ANHMA with UV light (lambda >= 311 nm) was also investigated in several solvents and shown to follow a general pattern, with the conversion of the (E)-enol-imine tautomer into the keto-amine forms in a solvent-mediated enol-imine/keto-amine tautomerism, and (Z)->(E) C=C isomerization between the keto-imine forms. The experimental results received support from an extensive series of calculations on the structure and UV-vis spectra of the relevant tautomeric/isomeric forms of the compound performed at the DFT(B3LYP)/6-311++G(d,p) level of approximation (including time-dependent DFT calculations and solvent consideration)

SARS-CoV-2 initiates infection by binding its surface spike glycoprotein to the ACE2 receptor on the human cell surface, facilitating the entry of its genetic material into the human cell. Due to the pivotal role of the spike protein in this infection mechanism, in this study the versatility of the bioactivity of the doxylamine molecule was investigated, and by theoretical molecular modeling studies its potential of blocking the entry of the spike protein into human cells was revealed. In the initial phase of this investigation, conformational analysis of doxylamine was executed employing the PM3 method, yielding six stable conformations. Subsequently, the lowest energy conformation obtained was subjected to optimization at the DFT/B3LYP/6-31++G(d,p) level of theory. Vibrational wavenumbers, highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals, and molecular electrostatic potential for the most stable conformer of doxylamine were computed using the DFT/B3LYP/6-31++G(d,p) level of theory. For docking studies firstly, the optimization by energy minimization feature of the YASARA structure program was employed to both ligand and the ligand-free receptor obtained from the protein databank. Molecular docking simulations were adeptly employed to identify potential compounds with doxylamine anticipated to demonstrate inhibitory activity against the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2. Molecular docking study of doxylamine was conducted with spike receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2 (PDB ID: 6M0J). Furthermore, ligand-receptor interactions were scrutinized through a molecular dynamics (MD) simulation lasting 125 ns to verify the stability of doxylamine within the ACE2 binding site
