    Review on Identity-based Batch Verification Schemes for Security and Privacy in VANETs

    [[abstract]]To enhance the quality of vehicular communication, vehicular ad hoc network has to be improved to handle the traffic related issues and maintain privacy. In order to fulfill the same, many schemes have been proposed in last decade. The Identity based Batch verification(IBV) scheme is one such scheme, which makes VANET more secure and efficient. Maintaining privacy through anonymity and reduction of verification time of messages by verifying them in Batch, are the main objectives of this scheme. This paper highlights the security issues of the current IBV scheme and introduces the concept of the random change of Anonymous Identity with time as well as location, to prevent the security attack and to maintain the privacy. In this scheme, performances are evaluated in terms of delay and transmission overhead

    UAV-Assisted RIS for Future Wireless Communications: A Survey on Optimization and Performance Analysis

    [[abstract]]Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), a device made of low-cost meta-surfaces that can reflect or refract the signals in the desired manner, have the immense ability to enhance the data transmission from the sender to the receiver. The concept of RIS is inspired by a smart radio environment or programmable radio environment. The introduction of this device in wireless communications aids in reducing the hardware requirements, energy consumption, and signal processing complexity. The integration of this device with various emerging technologies such as multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique, physical layer security, etc., has increased its potentiality in terms of performance enhancement. One such integration could be studied, i.e. RIS-assisted unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The UAVs exhibit aiding capability in various services to our society such as real-time data collection, traffic monitoring, military operations & surveillance, medical assistance, and goods delivery. Despite the positive appeal, the UAV has its limitations such as fuel efficacy, environment disturbances, limited network capability, etc. Considering these scenarios, the RIS can provide assistance to UAVs to enhance their performance when integrated. There is a limited number of articles and researches that consider UAV-assisted RIS systems. This article provides a detailed survey on RIS-assisted UAV systems considering multiple contexts such as optimization, communication techniques, deep reinforcement learning, secrecy performance, efficiency enhancement, and the internet of things. Finally, we draw attention to the open challenges and possible future directions of UAV-assisted RIS systems in phase shifting, channel modeling, energy efficacy, and federated learning

    Week-Wise Student Performance Early Prediction in Virtual Learning Environment Using a Deep Explainable Artificial Intelligence

    [[abstract]]Early prediction of students’ learning performance and analysis of student behavior in a virtual learning environment (VLE) are crucial to minimize the high failure rate in online courses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, traditional machine learning models fail to predict student performance in the early weeks due to the lack of students’ activities’ data in a week-wise timely manner (i.e., spatiotemporal feature issues). Furthermore, the imbalanced data distribution in the VLE impacts the prediction model performance. Thus, there are severe challenges in handling spatiotemporal features, imbalanced data sets, and a lack of explainability for enhancing the confidence of the prediction system. Therefore, an intelligent framework for explainable student performance prediction (ESPP) is proposed in this study in order to provide the interpretability of the prediction results. First, this framework utilized a time-series weekly student activity data set and dealt with the VLE imbalanced data distribution using a hybrid data sampling method. Then, a combination of convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM) was employed to extract the spatiotemporal features and develop the early prediction deep learning (DL) model. Finally, the DL model was explained by visualizing and analyzing typical predictions, students’ activities’ maps, and feature importance. The numerical results of cross-validation showed that the proposed new DL model (i.e., the combined CNN-LSTM and ConvLSTM), in the early prediction cases, performed better than the baseline models of LSTM, support vector machine (SVM), and logistic regression (LR) models

    [[abstract]]空拍機近年來被廣泛運用在社會各領域應用上,證明其重要性及需求性,電視台利用空拍機在新聞採訪上已是常態性,採訪記者面對的新聞環境是無法預測,在地面上採訪無法清楚掌握新聞事件,可能導致錯誤新聞訊息或重點偏移,可見空拍機重要性。根據調查台灣電視台採訪記者擁有無人機專業證照者甚少,造成非法飛行現象,萬一發生墜機傷人之意外,不僅造成人命損害並且違反法規與罰款。 本研究以深度訪談法,對象以新聞記者與專家學者,訪談資料彙整後利用Nvivo進行編碼,並以紮根理論基礎由下而上的概念建立範疇,得出研究結果。研究發現空拍機在不同環境之新聞現場利用空中拍攝優勢,迅速跨越地理環境之限制,讓採訪記者掌握新聞事件,完整呈現新聞的視野。另外建立一套空拍機安全訓練考照課程是電視台需要去落實執行,杜絕非法使用現象。並仿效國外電視台建立空拍團隊,遇到突發新聞或是災害新聞可以立即執行空拍採訪任務。研究結果有助於國內電視台在使用空拍機時機與空拍人才培育之參考方向。[[abstract]]Drones have been widely adopted in various fields of society in recent years, proving their importance and demand. It has gradually become a norm for TV stations to utilize drones in news interviews. Reporters are often faced with a highly unpredictable environment. It would be challenging to grasp a holistic perspective of news events when interviewing on the ground, which may sometimes lead to incorrect information or bias. This demonstrates the important role of drones. According to the investigation, very few reporters in TV stations in Taiwan obtain professional licenses for UAV, causing the phenomenon of illegal flying. It may cause accidents and injure people, as well as violate laws and regulations. The results of this study are based on in-depth interviews with journalists and experts. The interviews data are compiled and coded by NVivo. Categories are induced by a bottom-up approach based on the theoretical foundation of the Grounded Theory. The study found that drones are advantageous at news sites in different environments as they can quickly overcome the limitations of geographical environments, allowing reporters to fully present news vision. In addition, it is necessary for the TV station to establish a set of drones safety training and examination courses to prevent the phenomenon of illegal flying. Following the example of foreign TV stations, establish an aerial photography team which can immediately perform aerial photography interview tasks when encountering breaking news or disaster news. The research results are helpful for domestic TV stations to use drones and provide a reference for aerial camera training

    The Effects of Consumers’ Environmental Awareness on Organic Product Brand Identification-The Mediation Effect of Value Proposition Resonance

    [[abstract]]地球因自然資源的過度消耗,使得全球暖化、環境遭受無情破壞,嚴重影響到人類生活,所以有環保意識的消費者,會選擇使用對環境有益的有機產品,而有機產品之價值主張是否能引起消費者的共鳴,會影響消費者對有機品牌的認同。本研究以國內最大的有機通路即「里仁事業股份有限公司」為研究對象,計蒐集有效問卷為472份。進一步建構具環保意識與價值主張共鳴性之有機產品品牌認同決策模式,以完備消費者對有機產品消費模式之架構,並驗證價值主張共鳴性對環保意識影響品牌認同之中介效果,以了解價值主張共鳴性對品牌認同之影響。研究結果顯示,消費者之環保意識可促進對有機產品的品牌認同和價值主張共鳴性,且消費者對有機產品之價值主張共鳴性,可促進對有機產品的品牌認同;消費者之環保意識若再透過價值主張共鳴性,更能促進對有機產品品牌認同。[[abstract]]Due to the excessive consumption of natural resources of the earth, our environment suffers the serious damages that affects the life the human beings. Therefore, the consumers with environmental awareness choose to use organic products which benefit to our environment. If the value proposition of the organic products causes the resonance of the consumers affects consumers’ identification to the organic brands. The research investigates the brand identification of the largest organic marketing channel in Taiwan, Lee-Zen Company. The valid questionnaires are collected 472.Furthermore, the study frames the organic product brand identification decision-marketing model which consists of an environmental awareness and value proposition resonance. The organic product brand identification decision-marketing model attempts to complete the organic product consumption pattern structure for consumers and examines the mediation effect of value proposition resonance to the environmental awareness affects brand identification to understand the effects of value proposition resonance to the brand identification

    A Study on the Impact of Professional Identity and Professional Commitment on Job Performance - The Case of the Steel Processing Industry

    [[abstract]]隨著全球化與知識快速整合的趨勢,許多產業型態與本職技術快速的轉變,於此經營者對於專業技術人員也越趨精準,因此除了學歷之外,藉由不同方式進行「認證」成為衡量專業技術人才的一種標準,研究者任職於鋼鐵產業亦發現職業證照或技術證照在職場中非常的普遍,代表相關經營者與從業人員對於證照有一定程度的信賴與關注,同時,研究者也觀察到幾個現象,例如證照雖然普及,但員工卻對於自身的專業感並不感到十分認同,也有對於員工自身行業沒有情感的依附而萌生離意,再者,有無證照或是證照等級是否也對工作績效有影響;本研究採線上電子問卷以立意抽樣方式完成問卷之信效度,正式施測發放247份問卷,有效填寫則為231份,問卷有效率為93.522%;研究結果顯示性別、年齡、身分別及持有證照的級別及數量在專業認同、專業承諾及工作績效都具有部份的顯著差異,而專業認同與專業承諾對工作績效的影響會受到持有證照的級別及數量的調節;最後本研究根據分析結果,分別對經營者、員工及後續研究提出研究建議。[[abstract]]In view of the rise of globalization and the significant trend towards rapid integration of knowledge, many industry formats and skills are changing rapidly, resulting in an increasingly precise demand for professional and technical personnel. The researcher in this study, who has previously worked in the steel industry, also found that occupational or technical licenses are very common in the workplace, representing a certain level of trust and concern for licenses among operators and practitioners. At the same time, the researcher also observed several phenomena. For example, despite the popularity of licenses, employees do not recognize their professional competence, and some employees do not feel emotionally attached to the industry they work in and are tempted to leave. Furthermore, the presence or absence of a license, or the level of license, can also have an impact on job performance. In this study, the reliability validity of the questionnaire was completed by intentional sampling and then formally tested, 247 copied of questionnaires were sent out, and 231 copied were filled in and available. accounting for a return rate of 93.522%. And the results showed that gender, age, status and the level and number of certificates held had some significant differences in professional recognition, professional commitment and work performance, and the impact of professional recognition and professional commitment on work performance was adjusted by the level and number of licenses. Finally, based on the analysis results, this study puts forward research suggestions for operators, employees, and follow-up research

    [[abstract]]服務創新已成為影響企業競爭力的關鍵因素,企業必須持續不斷的創新,才能維持其競爭優勢,本研究以殯葬服務產業個案公司龍巖股份有限公司為研究對象,台灣殯葬市場亦極需現代化的殯葬提升改革及導入服務創新的新思維。目前對於殯葬業的研究大多著重於探討產業層面的殯葬產業和禮儀服務業動態研究、經營管理層面的台灣殯葬業現代化的研究和殯葬業企業化公司經營策略、生前契約層面的往生契約概論和國內生前契約研究、禮儀師服務層面的臺灣現代殯葬禮儀師角色之研究和禮儀師與殯葬服務等議題,少有探討殯葬業服務創新模式的相關研究。本研究採用Bettencourt and Bown (2013) 所提出的服務創新模式,以新型態工作、焦點性工作、消費鏈工作等三構面,探討服務創新模式;研究個案為龍巖股份有限公司,由次級資料、參與式觀察、與專家訪談,進行多重資料來源蒐集與分析,並以個案歷年所推出較重大之服務創新事件為分析單元。研究發現在「新型態工作」模式中的創新服務較為欠缺;在「消費鏈工作」模式中,依照各階段的不同服務對象別,來發展服務創新;在「焦點性工作」與「消費鏈工作」為一整合模式,並發展多層次巢狀式「焦點性工作」;在「支援性工作」為另一創新模式,在於強化整體服務品質;在殯葬活動中,應再增加「商」階段的價值活動;個案重要階段之創新,檢視各階段的欠缺來發掘。[[abstract]]Service innovation has become a key factor to enterprises’ competitiveness. Enterprises must constantly engage in innovation activities to maintain their competitive advantage. This study examines the case of Lungyen Life Service Corporation. The funeral industry of Taiwan is in great need of modernization and new concepts from service innovation. At present, most studies on the funeral industry and etiquette service industry focus on changes an industry level, modernization from a management perspective, business strategy of life service corporations, overview of pre-need funeral contract and funeral contract, the role of modern funeral directors, as well as funeral directors and funeral services, but few studies examine service innovation in the funeral industry. This study adopts the service innovation model proposed by Bettencourt and Brown (2013), which examines service innovation from three aspects, namely new jobs, focal jobs, and consumption chain jobs. The case presented is Lungyen Life Service Corporation, data is collected from multiple sources of data, including secondary data, participatory observation, and expert interviews, and major service innovation events of the case are the unit of analysis. This study found that the case relatively lacked service innovation in “new jobs”; service innovation in terms of “consumption chain jobs” targeted different segments in different stages; “focal jobs” and “consumption chain jobs” are an integrated model developed into a multi-layer nest-shaped “focal jobs” model; “support jobs” is another innovation model that improves overall service quality; value activities in the “Shang” stage of funeral activities should be increased; important stages of the case are examined to determine which stages are lacking in innovation

    The psychological impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on hospital employees: burn out, stress and mental wellness

    [[abstract]]背景及目的:世界衛生組織於2020年公佈 嚴重特殊傳染性肺炎(COVID-19)為 公共衛生緊急事件,全球確診總病例累計至 2022年08月已達 5億 8810萬人,導致 645萬名病人死亡。自疫情爆發以來,全台灣皆處於備戰狀態,醫院採取了多項預防措施,醫療從業人員經歷了高度傳染性疾病,在防疫政策實施下備感壓力。本研究想了解 COVID-19疫情期間醫療從業人員在 COVID-19疫情期間工作疲勞、工作壓力及心理健康的情形,並探討影響工作疲勞、工作壓力及心理健康的因素, 了解不同職業類別的醫療從業人員工作疲勞、工作壓力及心理健康的差異。 方法:採橫斷性研究設計,於台灣疫情大爆發期間,以結構式問卷進行調查,對象為台中市亞洲大學附屬醫院 20歲以上的醫療從業人員 (醫護人員、行政人員、技職人員 問卷內容包含基本人口學變相、工作疲勞、工作壓力及心理健康。問卷回收後以 IBM SPSS 20.0軟體進行資料分析,以描述性統計分析、變異數分析、 t檢定與回歸分析 來探討各研究變項的差異。 結果:本研究共收集375位醫療從業人員,結果發現 COVID-19疫情期間 不同職業類別的 醫療從業人員皆有重度工作壓力,輕度工作疲勞,心理健康為輕度情緒困擾,且其工作壓力、工作疲勞與心理健康為顯著相關,工作疲勞與心理困擾達高度相關,工作壓力越大與工作越疲勞對醫療從業人員的心理健康影響越大。 結論與建議:本研究結果發現醫療從業人員的工作壓力、工作疲勞與心理健康息息相關, 建議醫療機構的領導者了解影響醫療從業人員心理健康的風險因素,並透過團隊合作、給予適當讚賞及正確訊息、適當的休假及合理的支援薪資, 以降低醫療從業人員工作壓力及工作疲勞及工作疲勞,進而增進其心理健康,進而增進其心理健康。[[abstract]]The World Health Organization declared the novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) epidemic a public health emergency in 2020, with a total of 588.1 million confirmed cases and 6.45 million deaths worldwide as of August 2022. Since the outbreak, all of Taiwan has been in a state of preparedness, hospitals have taken several precautionary measures, and medical practitioners have experienced highly infectious diseases and have been under pressure to implement epidemic prevention policies. This study aimed to explore the relationship between work burnout, work stress, and psychological health of medical practitioners during the COVID-19 epidemic, and to investigate the factors affecting work burnouts, work stress, and psychological health of medical practitioners in different occupational groups. Methods: A cross-sectional study approach was used during the outbreak of the epidemic in Taiwan. Structured questionnaire was distributed to medical practitioners (health care workers, administrators, and technicians) aged 20 years or older at the Asia University Hospital in Taichung. The questionnaires included basic demographic variables, work burnouts, work stress, and mental health. The questionnaires were collected and analyzed using IBM SPSS 20.0 software. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-testing, and regression analysis were used to investigate the differences among the variables. Results: A total of 375 medical survey were collected in this study. and it was found that all medical practitioners of different occupational categories had heavy work stress, light work fatigue, and light emotional distress during the COVID-19 epidemic, and their work stress, work fatigue, and mental health were significantly correlated. The higher the work stress and work fatigue, the greater the impact on the mental health of medical professionals. Conclusion: Current study found that work stress, work burnout, and mental health of healthcare workers are closely related to each other. Reducing work stress and work burnout could be done through teamwork, providing proper appreciation and correct information, offering appropriate leave and reasonable support pay. Future use of the data could serve as reference for hospital administrators and government on highly infectious disease policy development, resource distribution and educational planning
