Alkanes C1–C6 C–H Bond Activation via a Barrierless Potential Energy Path: Trifluoromethyl Carbenes Enhance Primary C–H Bond Functionalization
In this mixed computational and experimentalstudy, we report a catalytic system for alkane C1−C6 functionaliza-tion in which the responsible step for C−H bond activation showsno barrier in the potential energy path. DFT modeling of threesilver-based catalysts and four diazo compounds led to theconclusion that the TpFAgC(H)CF3 (TpF = fluorinatedtrispyrazolylborate ligand) carbene intermediates interact withmethane without a barrier in the potential energy surface, aprediction validated by experimentation using N2C(H)CF3 asthe carbene source. The array of alkanes from propane to n-hexaneled to the preferential functionalization of the primary sites withunprecedented values of selectivity for an acceptor diazocompound. The lack of those barriers implies that selectivity canno longer be controlled by differences in the energy barriers. Molecular dynamics calculations (with propane as the model alkane)are consistent with the preferential functionalization of the primary sites due to a higher concentration of such C−H bonds in thevicinity of the carbenic carbon atomWe thank the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación for GrantsPID2020-113797RB-C21, TED2021-130077B−I00, PID2020-112825RB-I00, CES2019-000925-S, PID2019-105007GA-I00,CNS2022-135208 and RED2022-134074-T. Capturing Thermal Dynamics in Air-Conditioned Rooms: A Data-Driven Approach
Thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs) play a crucial role in reducing energy consumption in buildings. Thus, developing
accurate models that enable the effective implementation of energy control strategies is essential. With this goal in mind, a model
of a room influenced by an air conditioning (AC) unit was developed as an initial starting point for our research into TCL systems
modeling and control. In this work, a data-driven modeling approach was utilized, employing data collected from an ad-hoc data
collection platform. In addition, an algorithm was developed to determine the AC’s operational states. The results, based on
RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) and MAXAE (Maximum Absolute Error) metrics, demonstrate the effectiveness of the
proposed algorithm and data-driven modeling approach in capturing the thermal dynamics of the room under the influence of
the AC unit.
dinámica térmica de la habitación bajo la influencia del AC.This research was conducted as part of the grant PID2020-117828RB-I00 funded by MICIU / AEI / 10.13039 /

The stable isotopes (C and O), bulk mineralogy and sedimentary
facies types of the Miocene lacustrine-palustrine carbonates of the
Cucho Section (Miranda-Trebiño basin, N Iberia) are studied. The
results indicate deposition in a freshwater carbonate lake recording
significant biogenic CO2 input, changing Precipitation/Evaporation
rates and variations in vegetation cover and pedogenesis on palustrine
areas. Short-lived stages of higher salinity and evaporative
conditions are recorded by the relative abundance of fine-grained
dolomite. The highest δ13C values suggest 12C sequestration in anoxic
bottom waters due to water column stratification. These new data
support the general deepening trend of the lake system established

The historiographical work of an administrator of the Marquises of Villafranca: Ignacio de Ordejón Niño (1770 - c.1827)

Development of a Risk Assessment Tool for Social Services Using a Modified Delphi Technique
The pandemic caused by covid-19 has revealed an enormous vulnerability in health, economic and social terms. We are facing a new unprecedented environmental and socioeconomic reality, which poses a challenge for risk control and management.
This forces a methodological effort to be made in all areas in the creation of models for the prevention and prediction of existing impacts, risks, and potential threats. In Social Services’ field, we propose a tool that will allow, on the one hand, to measure the impact of COVID-19 on the Social Services system and, on the other hand, to evaluate the areas with the highest socioeconomic risk in the post-COVID scenario. The modified Delphi technique has been used to reach a consensus on a proposal of 37 indicators with a group of experts, which in the final phase resulted in 34. To our knowledge, this represents the first risk assessment tool in social services designed specifically for use at local level. The proposed tool can help determine the situation of municipal social services in relation to risk, assessing weaknesses and improving the capacity of the system. Perception of University Students Regarding Gender-Based Violence: Identification, Analysis and Detection
The general objective of the study is to study the degree of gender-based violence that exists
among students at the University of Huelva. The sample of 678 students (540 women and 138 men)
answered an anonymous and voluntary questionnaire, which was made up of several validated
questionnaires. The results show that many of the students have rarely suffered or carried out any
type of violent behavior in their relationships, although there is a very low percentage who claim to
have suffered gender-based violence, so we can affirm that it is a phenomenon present to a greater or
lesser extent. It is observed that students easily relate physical aggressions to gender-based violence
while they hesitate to relate psychological aggressions to it. This difficulty can be supported by
other studies that state that adolescents believe that some actions of psychological violence—such as
being jealous—are simply signs of love. This is compounded by the large number of romantic myths
that are increasingly spread through social networks, media, family patterns, etc. More educational
interventions are therefore needed to prevent these outcomes from leading to unhealthy relationships
disguised as excessive romanticism.PedagogíaPsicología Social, Evolutiva y de la Educació
Olive fruit ripening characterisation based on electrical capacitance measurements
Olive fruit ripening involves the accumulation of fat content through lipogenesis. The completion of this complex process is considered a reliable indicator of the optimal time for harvesting. While chemical and magnetic resonance analyses, among other, can accurately determine fat content, these methods are costly and require specialized personnel, making them impractical for large-scale testing. Alternatively, visual grading methods are widely used, although recent studies have shown that the external appearance of fruits may not always reliably indicate ripeness. This paper investigates the influence of olive fruit maturation on their electrical behaviour, specifically on their ability to store electrical charge. To this end, a low-cost and portable field meter capable of measuring the electrical capacitance of olive fruits was designed and developed. Subsequently, 110 olive samples were measured weekly from September to harvest time in November. These samples were also subjected to chemical analysis for reference. The analysis of this data revealed high intra-sample variability, consistent with recent studies. Notably, strong correlations of up to 0,9741 emerged between capacitance measurements and gold-standard fat content on dry matter values after accounting for intra-sample variability. In this case, a Root- Mean-Square-Error value of 2,66% was calculated when using the regression line to estimate fat content on dry matter from capacitance values. Furthermore, no significant differences were observed between the distributions of the reference values and the estimated values. These findings pave the way for the development of an affordable tool to accurately assess the ripening stage directly in the field, and to expand our understanding about the ripening processThis work was supported by the Cooperation Program VI-A SPAIN- PORTUGAL (POCTEP) 2021–2027 and co-financed with ERDF [0067_OLIVAR_IA_5_E]; The Research Consolidation Programme 2022 of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (Spain) [CNS2022–136137]; and the Andalusian Plan for Research, Development and Innovation, PAIDI (Andalusia, Spain) [P18-RTJ-4539]Ingeniería Eléctrica y Térmica, de Diseño y ProyectosIngeniería Electrónica, de Sistemas Informáticos y Automátic
