A Contextual Approach at Ageism
generating negative attitudes, behaviors and emotions towards older people. This discrimination based
on age is known as Ageism, with negative consequences on all areas of older people, their quality of
life and life satisfaction. This article offers a theoretical
review of the functioning of negative beliefs about
aging from the perspective of the Theory of Relational Frames (Hayes et al., 2001). From this perspective,
the categorization of older people and the transformation derived from functions (generally negative) in
the form of private experiences can have consequences on the behavior of the aging person and their environment. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is
proposed as an intervention strategy for the cognitive fusion of negative stereotypes and prejudices and
experiential avoidance, in order to reduce self-stigma
and internalized discomfor
Influence of Pregnancy on Sexual Desire in Pregnant Women and Their Partners: Systematic Review
Objectives: Pregnancy is a stage in which different physical and psychological changes take place that can affect the sexuality of the couple. The aim of the study is to identify how the physical and psychological changes derived from pregnancy affect the sexual desire of women and men. Methods: A systematic review of the literature was carried out in five databases, from which a total of 16,126 documents were obtained. After applying the PRISMA selection criteria, a total of 19 documents were selected. Results: Levels of sexual desire fluctuate during pregnancy, being the second trimester of gestation the period in which desire is at its highest and in which physical limitations and emotional changes decrease. Women have lower levels of sexual desire in the first trimester, while men have the lowest levels of desire in the third trimester. Conclusion: Pregnancy is a stage marked by physiological and psychological changes that modify several areas, including sexuality. Healthcare professionals should promote a healthy sexuality, avoiding the appearance of fears or sexual dysfunctions caused by the changes that occur during pregnancy.Departamento de Biología Ambiental y Salud Públic
Inclusive Pedagogy at University: Faculty Members’ Motivations
The presence of students with disabilities in Higher Education (HE) is increasing. However,
the permanence and success of these students at university is not granted. In this study, the voices of
119 faculty members from 10 Spanish universities who had been identified by their students with
disabilities as inclusive were heard. For this purpose, a qualitative methodology was chosen, using
the semi-structured individual interview as the instrument for data gathering. Two interviews were
conducted with each participant to analyse the main areas of inclusive pedagogy (beliefs, knowledge,
designs and actions). The results show the participants’ conceptions of disability, as well as their
main motivations for carrying out inclusive pedagogy, such as their professional vocation and their
previous experiences with people with disabilities. The article ends with a series of conclusions that
outline the profile of an inclusive faculty member. This information can help universities to improve
their faculty training programs to obtain a more inclusive teaching staff, which can be translated into
more sustainable and inclusive university systems. This research was funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain, the Spanish

Bibliometric Study and Network Mapping of Teacher Technostress Between 1992-2022
For such purpose, 139 scientific documents indexed in the Web of Science database were examined. The content was analyzed using an Excel spreadsheet and the VOS viewer software. To guarantee the quality of the methodological procedure, the PRISMA protocol was followed. First, a bibliometric analysis of the extracted publications was conducted, taking several indicators of production and dispersion as references. Second, a network analysis was performed to understand the collaboration structure between countries and the conceptual structure of the topic under study. The results highlight that existing scientific information on teacher technostress is scarce, that it is widely dispersed in terms of research areas, and that there are no major producers on the subject. Nonetheless, COVID-19 has been a decisive turning point that has generated the highest percentage of scientific production recorded to date and has contributed to bringing greater visibility to technostress, not only as a psychosocial occupational risk but also as a phenomenon affecting the teaching profession as one of the most vulnerable work collectives in an online contex
Digital competencies and academic engagement in initial teacher training
Digital competencies and academic engagement are two important, renowned constructs in 21st-century education. This paper analyses the possible existence of a relationship or influence between both concepts and their respective dimensions in the initial teacher-training context. The methodology used is an ex post facto method in which there was a survey with 437 students, 180 from the Degree in Kindergarten Teaching and 257 from the Degree in Primary Teaching. There were two internationally validated questionnaires used to carry out the analysis, which compared sex and education year. The results do not show a difference in gender or year regarding digital competencies, but it does show a difference in academic engagement in favour of women and 3rd-year students. Spearman’s Rho test (rs=.313; p<.001) allowed us to conclude the existence of a significant statistical correlation between these variables, although of low effect
A Control Architecture for Developing Reactive Hybrid Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles
This article introduces a control architecture designed for the development of Hybrid
Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles. The term ”Hybrid” characterizes Remotely Operated
systems capable of autonomously executing specific operations. The presented architecture maintains
teleoperation capabilities while enabling two fully autonomous applications. The approach emphasizes
the implementation of reactive navigation by exclusively utilizing data from a Mechanical
Scanned Imaging Sonar for control decisions. This mandates the control system to solely react to data
derived from the vehicle’s environment, without considering other positioning information or state
estimation. The study involves transforming a small-scale commercial Remotely Operated Underwater
Vehicle into a hybrid system without structural modifications, and details the development of an
intermediate Operational Control Layer responsible for sensor data processing and task execution
control. Two practical applications, inspired by tasks common in natural or open-water aquaculture
farms, are explored: one for conducting transects, facilitating monitoring and maintenance operations,
and another for navigating toward an object for inspection purposes. Experimental results validate
the feasibility and effectiveness of the authors’ hypotheses. This approach expands the potential
applications of underwater vehicles and facilitates the development of Hybrid Remotely Operated
Underwater Vehicles, enabling the execution of autonomous reactive tasks. This research was funded by KTTSeaDrones project (0622_KTTSEADRONES_5E), cofunded by the European Regional Development Fund, ERDF, through the Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal program (POCTEP) 2014–2020.Ciencias Agroforestale
The relationship of kinesiophobia in patients with lymphedema: a case-control investigation
Introduction: Kinesiophobia and lymphedema appear to be related conditions, and it is important to understand this relationship, as many of the symptoms and comorbidities presented by individuals with lower limb lymphedema are prevented and treated through movement, thus constituting kinesiophobia as a barrier to intervention. The objective of this study is, therefore, to evaluate and analyze the kinesiophobic beliefs reported by individuals with and without lower limb lymphedema, regarding the agreement, severity and differences found, and to establish levels of kinesiophobia.
Methods: A case-control study with a total sample of 80 participants (40 with lower limb lymphedema and 40 without) was performed. Both groups (with and without lymphedema) were characterized anthropologically, sociodemographically, and clinically. In the case group, lymphedema was evaluated. Participants in both groups completed the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia - 13 items (TSK-13).
Results: Individuals with lower limb lymphedema had higher TSK-13 scores than their matched group without lymphedema. The items belonging to the activity avoidance subscale had the highest agreement and score in both groups. Differences between groups were mainly established for items belonging to the somatic focus subscale, showing that individuals with lower limb lymphedema have kinesiophobic beliefs related to the perceived severity of their lymphedema. The prevalence of kinesiophobia was increased in both groups, but the severity was mild.
Conclusions: Considering the apparent tendency of people with lower limb lymphedema to present kinesiophobia and movement-limiting beliefs regarding the condition, greater attention should be paid to its assessment, prevention and treatment from a multidisciplinary and multimodal perspective, which takes into account the multiplicity of factors inherent to kinesiophobia and lymphedema and thus reduce their impact on the management of lymphedema.Departamento de Biología Ambiental y Salud Públic
Motivations and contradictions in the use of social networks in university students
identidad individual versus identidad social, exhibicionismo versus privacidad y satisfacción versus
Around social networks, contradictions can be established with which one lives: individual
identity versus social identity, exhibitionism versus privacy and satisfaction versus evasion, among
others. Between both extremes there are shadows in the form of misinformation processes, a naive
vision of the influence of social networks or lack of awareness about its repercussions, which prevent
young people from integral development. It is necessary to identify factors involved in the flow and
directionality of these contradictions. The study presented follows a quantitative research design, of a
non-experimental, transversal, descriptive, inferential and correlational nature. The technique used was
the survey and the instrument used was a questionnaire composed of sociodemographic questions and
six scales: Motivation-avoidance, motivation-self-expression, satisfaction-addiction, privacy on social
networks, online images/videos and digital identity impact. The participating sample was 658 students
from different Spanish universities. The results show a correlation with different degrees of intensity
between the six scales. Likewise, the Kruskal Wallis test showed that factors such as gender, age,
daily frequency of use of social networks, number of followers, profile privacy on networks, similarity
between the real and virtual image and social awareness and personal image on the networks affect
the six dimensions studied. Everything points to the need to continue working at university levels on the
use that students make of these networks through the implementation of educommunication processes,
since the management of privacy, self-presentation and the configuration of identity in these networks
are necessary and fundamental areas in today’s society.

Is precarity inherent to employment when it is mediated by a digital
platform, or does employment precarity have other causes? Using the first wave
of the European survey on collaborative economy and employment (COLLEEM,
hereinafter), we identify different types of precarity among platform workers
by using different operationalizations of this phenomenon. Our results indicate
that i) the probability of precarity in on-demand platform work varies according
to the type of employment and to certain sociodemographic characteristics;
ii) findings are sensitive to the dimension of precarity that we address; and iii)
self-employed individuals and those workers who access digital platform jobs as
last resort have a more positive perception of working conditions in the sector
than salaried employees and those whose reason for entry was not the lack of
alternative employment. The study provides guidelines for the effective design of
Acquisition of educational values at the Real Madrid Foundation’s social-sports schools
The objective of this study was to analyse the impact of the educational
programme of the Real Madrid Foundation (RMF) on the acquisition of
educational values at social-sports football and basketball schools among
children aged between 12 and 16 years in Italy, Romania, Spain and the
United Kingdom. The most significant results showed that: (a) between the
20–21 and 21–22 seasons, there were statistically significant increases in
personal and team success, self-fulfilment, personal and group superiority,
health and physical fitness, and peaceful behaviour; and (b) the increase in
variables being studied was different according to the country analysed in such
a way that: in the per-sonal and team success dimension there was a rise in
the United Kingdom and Italy; in self-fulfilment there was an increase in the
United Kingdom; in the personal and group superiority dimension there was
a rise in Italy and Romania; in the health and physical fitness dimension there
was an increase in social-sports schools in the United Kingdom and Italy; in the
peaceful behaviour dimension there was a rise in social-sports schools in the
United Kingdom and a drop in social-sports schools in Romania. There were very
significant improvements in the majority of dimensions and countries, although
the development of the various dimensions is different and specific to every
one of the distinct countries, meaning that it is necessary to keep adapting
the educational programme of the Real Madrid Foundation in line with the
sociocultural characteristics of each of the countries in which it is implemented.Didácticas Integrada
