Utenlandske krigsfanger og fanger i Nord-Norge 1941–1945
I løpet av krigsårene ble om lag 130 000 utenlandske krigsfanger, fanger og sivile tvangsarbeidere sendt som arbeidskraft til Norge. Dette omfattet blant annet sovjetiske og polske krigsfanger, jugoslaviske fanger, samt polske og sovjetiske sivile tvangsarbeidere. CAGE13-2 Cruise Report: CAGE, OAFS and Paleo-CIRCUS cruise to Northwest Norway, Jan Mayen and East Greenland
From the morning of June 23rd to the morning of July 7th 2013, the Department of Geology of the University of Tromsø, Norway, arranged a scientific cruise aimed at investigating the western Northern Norwegian margin and the central Nordic seas and east Greenland margin| on R/V “Helmer Hanssen”. Investigated areas were (in order of visiting sites on the cruise): the northwestern Norwegian Sea margin to north of Jan Mayen, and the western Greenland Sea north and off Scorebysund. The scientific sampling was done within the framework of ongoing projects at the Department of Geology, University of Tromsø: “CAGE (CoE): Arctic Gas Hydrate, Environment and Climate”, hereunder the projects “OAFS-Ocean Acidification Fram Strait” and “Paleo-CIRCUS”.
A total of 12 gravity cores, 5 piston cores and 9 multi-cores (with a total of 27 sub-coresretrieved), 15 plankton net casts and 20 CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) casts were performed at the western Barents Sea slope, and the Barents Sea.
>44 chirp profiles and multibeam echo sounder lines were acquired during transits and during surveys of potential core sites.

CAGE14-1 Cruise Report: CAGE research school in Arctic Marine Geology and Geophysics
Cruise CAGE 14-1 is one of several cruises in 2014 that will be carried out to collect cross-disciplinary data for addressing the objectives of the Norwegian Centre for Arctic Gas Hydrate, Environment and Climate, CAGE. The Norwegian Research Council funds CAGE for a period of 10 years to addressee main scientific questions about gas hydrate environments in Arctic regions.
Cruise CAGE 14-1 was also hosting this year’s AMGG research school cruise with 14 PhD students participating, most of them from CAGE. The cruise focused on acquisition of seismic, oceanographic, atmospheric, geochemical and sediment and benthic fauna sampling data from three target areas:
the shallow shelf and shelf edge methane seepage sites at Prins Karls Forelanda sediment drift on the western flank of the Knipovich Ridgethe Vestnesa Ridge
Research objectives were planned long the goals of CAGE and its individual work packages, and the teaching would be organized along these goals.
Scientific problems that are to be addressed in these two key target areas include the periodicity of seepage (i.e. time scales of active, inactive and reactivated systems), quantification of methane concentrations in surface sediments, water column and above the sea surface, gas and hydrates, the nature of gas sources, and the benthic communities occurring at the seep sites.
Specific objectives of cruise CAGE 14-1 were as follows:
Hydro-acoustic mapping of methane bubble plumes above shallow and deep-water vent fields.Seismic surveying and multibeam mapping across the contours of the Svyatogor Rise.Sediment sampling using gravity, box and multi-corer for sediment and pore-water geochemical analysesSampling of benthic fauna at several seep sites and reference stations in all three target areas.Acquisition of oceanographic data for measuring oceanographic conditions and methane concentrations in the water column, particularly at the shallow shelf sites.

CAGE15-2 Cruise Report: Gas hydrate deposits and methane seepages offshore western Svalbard and Storfjordrenna: Biogeochemical and biological investigations
The main goal of CAGE 15-2 cruise was to study the gas hydrate system and methane emissions off western Svalbard and in Storfjordrenna. We addressed this through a comprehensive scientific program comprising dives with the MISO-‐Tow Cam adapted to the multicorer frame from UiT-‐NPI (TowCam/Multicorer, TCM), methane measurements in sediments and water column, sediment coring (multicorer + gravitycorer), water column and sediment biogeochemistry, microbiology, micropaleontology, macrobiology, and bathymetric mapping.
In addition, during the ecosounder and TCM surveys we collected data for selecting the locations for the CAGE observatories to be deployed during the cruise.
The areas investigated were:
W Prins Karls Forland (two sites at ca 90 m and 240 m water depth),An area located at the coordinate 78N 08E called “site 7808” (ca 90 m water depth; marker CAGE 882),Vestnesa Ridge (ca 1200 m water depth; markers CAGE 888 and 895),Storfjordrenna (two sites at ca 350, benthic station SR1, and 390 m water depth, Pingos site; marker CAGE 933),Craters area (ca 350 m water depth).
We planned the following activities during the CAGE 15-2 cruise:
EM 300 Simrad swath bathymetry mapping to identify seabed morphologyMapping of flare distributionsCTD stations at different water depths and in different areas for measurements ofocean water masses characteristics, andwater sampling for water/gas chemistry and microbiology investigations across methane seeps.TCM surveys (video-‐camera) to image seabed fluid flow expressions, sites of bacteria mats and gas bubbles. These results were used to define sampling stations and collect data for the future deployment of CAGE observatories (cruise CAGE15-‐3)Repeated deployments with TCM to sample surficial and shallow sediments with respect to microbiology, geochemistry, biogeochemistry, and micropalentology.Gravity corer for studying sediment biogeochemistry, biomarkers, microbiology, and foraminifera.Van Veen grabs sampling for studying macrofauna.Scrape sampling to collect fauna communities and possible carbonate blocks.

CAGE17-5 Cruise Report: Marine Geophysical Cruise to the Yermak Plateau and western Svalbard continental margin
The cruise was a part of the Centre of Excellence for Gas Hydrate, Environment and Climate (CAGE) at UiT ‐ The Arctic University of Norway.
The cruise had the following scientific objectives:
Geomorphic mapping of seafloor features at the Yermak Plateau, as far north as possible aiming at identifying ice flow orientations.Improve the seismic stratigraphy along the western Svalbard continental margin, using the ODP holes 910C and 912A of the Yermak Plateau and the ODP hole 986 west of Svalbard.Investigate fluid-flow features related to gas hydrate bearing sediments

Time to stop playing: No game studies on a dead planet
This article highlights the interrelated crises that the games industry, its digital game consumers, and the academic field of game studies are embedded in and responsible for reproducing. By couching our analysis in Marxist, feminist, anti-fascist, and anti-imperialist understandings of how our social relations arise from the historical-material basis of society, we identify several different conditions of modern digital games that everyone working in and around games should confront and take seriously, especially regarding contemporary and future impacts and restrictions on the type of research and education we are able to conduct. These crises emerge from social and economic structures including imperialism, racism, militarism, fascism, and patriarchy. To better confront them, we broadly define the causes from which the morbid symptoms we witness arise in primarily Western societies and how they manifest in the games industry, its consumers, and its academic institutions. Based off these aspects, we extrapolate their trajectory in how they will change and adapt to the future of games and of their study, as the ecological and social crises intensify and reverberate. This allows us to propose potential strategies for radically confronting and potentially overcoming the looming crises related to war, patriarchy, white supremacy, famine, destitution, fascism, and climate apocalypse
A future already past? The promises and pitfalls of cryptogames, blockchain, and speculative play
The article argues that blockchain-based games should be conceptualized as an emerging social practice that attracts financial speculators under the guise of online games. The article first outlines the blockchain-gaming discourse, which promises ownership and benefits to players, while it encourages financiers and publishers to exploit players. The article presents the performative discourse of blockchain advocates as well as the counterarguments presented by journalist, players, and developers, in order to demonstrate that arguments against cryptogaming are not anticapitalist and politicized, but mostly based on common sense. Then, the article investigates game studies concepts for their capacity to further explicate cryptogames, and finds that neither gamification nor playbor are completely fitting. Instead, the article turns to the game research fundamentals of Huizinga and Caillois to cast blockchain gaming in a new light. From this perspective, games like CryptoKitties and Axie Infinity emerge as nested activities that can be approached as play of financial speculation, with the latter approach being significantly privileged in existing games

Opprusting av fylkesvei 834 med ny gang- og sykkelsti innebar konflikt med den sørvestlige delen av gravhaug id. 38585 i Rønvik, Bodø by. Dispensasjon ble innvilget, med vilkår om arkeologisk undersøkelse av den berørte delen av kulturminnet.
Undersøkelsen gikk ut på å anlegge en NV – SØ orientert sjakt parallelt med nordøstsiden av Nordstrandveien, i området mellom veien og avgrensingen av planlagt tiltak mot nordøst.
Prosjektets målsetting var å dokumentere eventuelle bevarte spor etter den opprinnelige sørvestlige enden av haugen, og/eller opprinnelig overflate i umiddelbar tilknytning til gravhaugen mot sørvest. Formålet var å bedre kunnskapsgrunnlaget om haugens konstruksjon, om eventuelle anlegg som fotgrøft, samt om den opprinnelige markoverflaten i tilknytning til haugen.
Sjakten var negativ med hensyn til bevarte kulturminner og intakt eldre markoverflate. Det undersøkte området bestod i sin helhet av masser som er forstyrret av flere moderne inngrep, fremfor alt forårsaket av en kabeltrasé som ikke kunne gjenfinnes i offentlig tilgjengelige kart eller registre.
Vår vurdering er at det innenfor det undersøkte området ikke er noen bevarte spor etter haug eller det opprinnelige bakkenivået haugen ble anlagt på
