This has been a subject of interest in social work in Saami regions. In this article, we argue for an extensive interpretation of The Knowledgeing Workshop in Sápmi. Experiential learning represents a basis for applying cultural competence in practice. Applied to social work, this perspective is situated in a contextual interpretation of the concept of culture. The discussion is founded in a process where Saami social workers participated in an educational project. The project, called “Stories Enhancing Skills”, is a well-structured process that has as its basis stories and experiences. It aims to develop the skills needed to take reasonable decisions in difficult and complex situations. In this study we explore the process and investigate whether this working model is suitable for developing skills in cultural competence. As the topic has been mostly described in occasional dictionary entries but largely ignored in grammatical descriptions, the present article provides an empirical grammatical description of the formations such as uksaráigge ‘through the door’ and bálggesráigge ‘along the path’. In contrast to earlier descriptions that vaguely label these formations as compound nouns or adverbs, detailed morphological, syntactic and semantic analysis suggests that the suffix –ráigge – originating in the genitive-accusative form of the noun ráigi ‘hole, opening’ – has many case-like features that make it look like a modern equivalent of the so-called prolative (‘along, through’) case reconstructed in Proto-Saami. Most importantly, the internal morphosyntax of –ráigge phrases is largely identical to that of ordinary noun phrases headed by nouns in other cases.     Description: The Movement Assessment Battery for Children-2 (MABC-2) includes both a standardized test and a checklist to identify and describe motor difficulties in children. The test battery was developed in the United Kingdom by Henderson, Sugden, and Barnett (2007). The Norwegian and international copyright holder is Pearson. The Norwegian translation from 2010 contains both Norwegian and British material. This review concerns the standardized test, which uses norms from British children aged 3 to 16 years, divided into three age bands. The test takes approximately 20-40 minutes to complete and consists of eight tasks for each age band, divided into three components of gross and fine motor skills. A total test score reflects the child\u27s overall performance. The Norwegian copyright holder lists the following user qualifications: Authorized Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Special Educator.  Literature Search: Of 343 hits, nine Norwegian and 18 Swedish or Danish publications met the inclusion criteria. The samples were mainly clinical groups of children with various risk factors for neurological damage, especially premature children and children with low birth weight.  Psychometrics: There are indications that Scandinavian children perform better compared to the British norm group when examined. Large random variation as well as floor and ceiling effects raise questions regarding the instrument\u27s sensitivity to change. Scandinavian studies support reliability, construct validity, and criterion validity. There was some variation in how thoroughly the psychometric properties were examined for each age band. Conclusion: MABC-2 appears to be a useful instrument in both clinical settings and research, to assess children with suspected motor difficulties. However, the psychometric properties of the Norwegian version have not been sufficiently investigated. Lack of Scandinavian norms is a major weakness. Data on factor structure, internal consistency, and criterion validity is lacking. Professionals should be careful not to make clinical decisions solely based on MABC-2. A revised version (MABC-3) was recently introduced. We recommend independent assessments of the reliability and validity of this new version in the Scandinavian countries.Beskrivelse: The Movement Assessment Battery for Children-2 (MABC-2) inkluderer en standardisert test og en sjekkliste for å identifisere og beskrive motoriske vansker hos barn. Vår gjennomgang omhandler den standardiserte testen, som er normert for britiske barn fra 3 til 16 år, fordelt på tre aldersintervaller. Testen tar 20–40 minutter å gjennomføre og består av åtte oppgaver, fordelt på tre komponenter av grov- og finmotoriske ferdigheter. En total testskåre gjenspeiler barnets samlede prestasjon. Stor tilfeldig variasjon, samt gulv- og takeffekter stiller spørsmål ved instrumentets endringssensitivitet. Skandinaviske studier understøtter reliabilitet, begrepsvaliditet og kriterievaliditet. Det er imidlertid variasjon i hvor grundig de psykometriske egenskapene er undersøkt for hvert aldersintervall.  Konklusjon: MABC-2 ser ut til å være et nyttig instrument i klinikk og forskning for å vurdere barn med mistenkte motoriske vansker, men de psykometriske egenskapene til den norske versjonen er ikke tilstrekkelig undersøkt. Mangel på skandinaviske normer er en stor svakhet. Dataene er også mangelfulle når det gjelder faktorstruktur, indre konsistens og kriterievaliditet. Fagpersoner bør derfor være forsiktige med å basere kliniske beslutninger på MABC-2 alene. En revidert versjon (MABC-3) ble introdusert høsten 2024. Fagmiljøet bør være oppmerksom på behovet for å vurdere denne versjonens reliabilitet og validitet i de skandinaviske landene

    The Classic: New perspectives on a criticized practice

    The purpose of this essay is to provide new perspectives on collaboration as a fundamental skill in the nursing profession. Collaboration is something we all relate to, and one might get the impression that collaboration skills are a recurring theme in both general and higher education. As an Assistant Professor and nurse, I am witnessing and participating in collaboration daily, and in this essay, I seek a deeper understanding of the complexities inherent in this classic practice. What factors contribute to and underpin the promotion of synergy in collaboration? The essay is centered on nursing students, and I invite the reader to join me in my reflections, perspectives, and associations related to collaborative competence. The literature is drawn from a selection of philosophical, pedagogical, and nursing theories, as well as from curricula and regulations pertaining to national guidelines for nursing education.  Hensikten med dette essayet er å gje nye blikk og vinklingar på samarbeid som grunnleggande kompetanse i sjukepleieprofesjonen. Samarbeid er noko me alle har eit forhold til, og ein kan få inntrykk av at samarbeidskompetanse er ein gjengangar i allmenn opplæring og høgare utdanning. Som høgskulelektor og sjukepleiar er eg dagleg vitne til, og del av, nettopp samarbeid, og gjennom essayet søker eg ei større forståing av kompleksiteten til denne klassiske arbeidsforma. Kva faktorar speler inn og ligg til grunn for å fremje synergi i samarbeid? Essayet tek utgangspunkt i sjukepleiestudenten, og eg inviterer lesaren med på mine refleksjonar, vinklingar og assosiasjonar knytt til samarbeidskompetanse. Litteraturen er henta frå eit utval filosofisk, pedagogisk og sjukepleiefagleg teori i tillegg til studie- og emneplan og forskrift om nasjonal retningslinje for sjukepleiarutdanning.

    Bridging Gaps by Unlocking the Community Potential - Empowerment through Infrastructure and Networking

    Community-focused infrastructure and networking are often organised in a decentralised manner. Such structures are based on a collaborative peer to peer approach with openness as a basic requirement for gaining common agreements. They could thus make a certain contribution to counterbalance centralised exclusive approaches - whether political or economic. We argue that this approach is effective, both as a method to promote and further develop scientific publishing as an important facet of scientific communication, and as a communication approach to support openness and respectful interaction. Within this workshop we will focus on structures emerging from scholarly-led and scholarly-owned Diamond Open Access publishing. Together with the participants we will explore such community-borne approaches with regard to their potential to back up open science. The infrastructure of non-commercial publishing is spread across many players: researchers, research institutions, institutional publishing services, scholar-led initiatives, and many more besides. However, to create a focused and comprehensive service portfolio that provides favourable publication conditions for researchers, these players must be connected. Structures must be created to enable the community of practice to collaborate. Synergising the general idea of Diamond Open Access publishing with individual researchers, initiatives and activities will enable communities to realise their full potential and to work collaboratively and on equal footing to pursue it. How can a decentralised community be empowered to contribute to a common perspective on scientific publishing? How can a community be given open structures that are strong, binding and sustainable enough to enable it to work towards a shared vision? Can a collaborative peer to peer approach be considered as the preferred way to keep scholarly communication open and in community’s hands in the wake of today’s challenges? We want to explore these questions in the workshop. Its aim is to develop a concept for a community-oriented approach in building and organising strong and sustainable networks. We want to sketch an efficient and transparent community-building plan based on the participants\u27 tangible experiences. As a method, we want to move from the concrete to the abstract in two steps. First we want to collect the participants\u27 experiences in their community oriented work. Building on the experiences of the Publisher\u27s Living Handbook for Diamond Open Access of the EU-funded CRAFT-OA project and the OJS Network of the DFG-funded German Capacity Centre (SeDOA), we will work together to develop more precise requirements for a sustainable community-oriented approach in a second step. In this way, we would like to discuss different approaches in dealing with communities of practice. The synergies of the Community of Practice are to be utilised and transferred into a higher-level concept

    Accelerating scholar-led Diamond Open Access through community support services

    To accelerate the transition to scholar-led Diamond Open Access publishing, it is crucial to support scholars, scholarly societies and other academic institutions to go forward towards scholar-led publishing models. The German Diamond Capacity Centre “SeDOA (Servicestelle Diamond Open Access)” is supposed to become the central contact point for Diamond Open Access in Germany. It aims to promote the Diamond Open Access concept in the community, offer publishing services and develop them further, make existing publishing infrastructures more visible, provide information, workshops and an innovation lab. SeDOA is a project funded by the German research funder DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). SeDOA started in May 2025 and is supported by a consortium of 15 institutions. The project comprises six work packages. The poster focuses on the work package Community Support Services. Within this work package, we want to help researchers, institutional publishing service providers (IPSP’s), subject specific information services (FIDs) and learned societies by offering advisory services and hands-on guidance for establishing and maintaining scholar-led Diamond Open Access publications. The first element of this work is a comprehensive survey, complemented by in-depth interviews with the target groups. The goal of the survey is to identify the most pressing needs of the target groups. What kind of topics are relevant for the different stakeholders in the community? What kind of formats are helpful to them? These are questions that we want to answer with help of the survey. Also, it includes questions about the conditions under which journals and other publication formats are currently published. The poster presents first results of this assessment. Furthermore, it outlines the emerging support concept that is based on the findings of the survey as well as on existing information about support needs from other national and international initiatives and projects. With the support concept as one part of the work of SeDOA, we want to empower different stakeholders within the scholarly communication ecosystem to implement Diamond Open Access in their own context

    Reified gameplay: Revisiting playbour through critical theory

    Traditionally, theories of play and games have drawn a clear distinction between two different forms of activity; play and labour. Over the last two decades, the concept of playbour has challenged this division, with empirical studies and observations showing the intertwining of play and labour. This article offers an analysis of playbour through different perspectives of Critical Theory and explores its theoretical implications. The novel concept of reified gameplay is presented to understand the alienating tendencies of playbour, using the games EVE Online and CryptoKitties as key examples. Reified gameplay is a form of gameplay action shaped by processes of reification and rationalisation within and as part of the culture industry

    From tradition to interaction: A systematic literature review of cultural heritage representation in entertainment videogames

    Nowadays, an increasing number of videogames have incorporated cultural heritage elements that belong to a wide variety of regions. This has prompted a growing body of academic research regarding this topic. This paper presents the results of a systematic literature review, investigating how different aspects of cultural heritage are represented in entertainment videogames. A thematic analysis of 80 publications was conducted, categorising the studied cultural heritage elements into tangible and intangible themes of cultural heritage. Our review revealed that existing publications have extensively explored the representation of tangible cultural heritage in games, especially architecture and artefacts. In contrast, the representation of intangible cultural heritage has received significantly less attention, such as religious rituals, folklore, and symbolic references. Moreover, we observed that game designers tend to select cultural heritage elements familiar to their target audiences, which lied in depictions of historical periods, notable historical figures, and architectural styles. Finally, this review highlights gaps in current research including a narrow focus on certain game genres and a lack of in-depth study on the representation of intangible cultural heritage
