Allemannsretten i lys av statlig annekteringspraksis i Sápmi
Allemannsretten er høyt verdsatt i Norge.
(Re)producing orientalism: Industry logic of Chinese mobile game re-skins in the global app empire
Through the case study of the mobile title Game of Sultans, this article examines the proliferation of iterative and copycat games through the practice of reskins in the mobile game industry. Based on year-long autoethnographic fieldwork working in a Chinese mobile game company, I provide an on-the-ground perspective of how Orientalist representations in reskinned games are instrumentalized through the roles of “cultural brokers” and the work of localization for Western markets. By taking a theoretical and technological understanding of reskins, I argue that reskinned games, as a form of industrial mimicry, while an important aspect of standardized game production, can also serve as means of subversion against seemingly totalizing control of the US-dominated app economy. This article addresses the dearth of studies in theorizing the industry practice of game reskins beyond just a monetization tool but also its extractive labor process within the global app empire
Changing the game but keeping to the rules: Ambivalences between social activism and content creation in the Brazilian sports scene
The vulnerabilities faced by social minorities in Brazil, such as women, Black people, and LGBTQ+ people, are also very prevalent in local gaming cultures. Because of this, members of these groups organize collectives through social media to debate strategies and to provide mutual support for their esports initiatives. In the last few years, many of these activist collectives were absorbed by formal esports organizations, with some of their members now leading equality and diversity initiatives for esports in Brazil. Nevertheless, the movement from grassroots activists to PR representatives has contradictions, especially considering how social media platforms mediate the transition between activism and cause marketing. This paper aims to highlight some of these ambivalences, and how they impact the most vulnerable esports workers in Brazil

Dïhte Saaraahka – Njaarkesne 1720-låhkoen
When previous researchers have examined the functions of the goddess Saaraahka, they have based their studies on all the available material about her, from all areas of Saemien eatneme / Saepmie and at all time periods. The picture they created of her was therefore a mixture of things that never coexisted, neither in any area, nor during any time period. In addition, most previous researchers erroneously regarded Saaraahka as less important than the male divinities.
In this article I have tried instead to focus on what the sources from a certain area (Njaarke in northern Trøndelag, Norway) and a specific time period (the 1720s) tell us about Saaraahka. By means of a critical investigation targeting relevant earlier sources, this article shows how important Saaraahka was in daily life in Njaarke in the 1720s. Saaraahka helped women during menstruation, pregnancy, and childbirth, and one therefore sacrificed both animals and objects to her. Saaraahka was, however, important for both men and women. Every day one performed rituals to her when one ate. Naming rituals were performed in her name, and one performed a ritual to her before or after being forced to partake of Holy Communion in church. In Njaarke during the 1720s, Saaraahka was in fact the most important of all the invisible beings.
Hair loss affects those living with the skin condition alopecia areata (AA). The study aimed to describe how hair loss affects the everyday life of people living with AA. The research design was qualitative with an inductive approach. Data were written narratives collected in a quantitative study through three open-ended questions. The participants (in total 246) living with AA were at least 18 years old. Content analysis was used to analyze data. The results were described in four themes: 1) fear of hair replacement falling off the head, 2) incapability to perform professional work, 3) tolerance of a lack of understanding, and 4) acceptance of everyday life with hair loss. The conclusion is that everyday life will not necessarily be the same as before. Life is lived with a visible physical change in appearance, nevertheless, opportunities are realized in everyday life with hair loss, but their life is lived differently.

In the autumn of 1978, Thorkild Hansen’s Prosessen mot Hamsun generated a heated debate in Scandinavia. Hansen was the first to portray Knut Hamsun’s position during the second world war and the legal proceedings against him in the aftermath to such an extent, both when it comes to the use of sources and commercial ambitions. The portraying is in the genre documentarism, a hybrid of fiction and non-fiction, which at the time of publishing over a decade had held a prominent position in Scandinavia. The article gives a retrospect at a genre, a book, and the debate it caused by throwing light upon Hansen’s use of sources and his literary style. The conclusion asks whether Hansen had a plausible cause and lost it in the use of genre, and furthermore how genre debates still cause headlines.Over noen høstmåneder i 1978 skapte Thorkild Hansens Prosessen mot Hamsun omfattende debatt i Skandinavia.
In A voluntary death (2018), comics writer Steffen Kverneland thematizes the suicide of his father. This contribution examines the interaction between the verbal text and the visual design. It turns out that the compound expression creates complex and partly contradictory interpretation possibilities of the father\u27s suicide. In this context, Thierry Groensteens concept of \u27"iconic solidarity" is of particular importance.I En frivillig død (2018) tematiserer tegneserieskaperen Steffen Kverneland selvmordet til faren sin.
