No full textGradu amaierako lan honetan, atunontzi izozkailu bat Ozeano Pazifikoan martxan jartzearen bideragarritasuna aztertzen da, «Contadora I» itsasontzia erreferentzitzat hartuta. Lehenik eta behin, atun tropikalaren arrantza-industriaren testuingurua aztertu da, euskal enpresen rola nabarmenduz.
Ondoren, ontziaren ezaugarriak deskribatu eta jarduteko beharrezko lizentziak aztertu dira, Panama, Costa Rica eta Ekuadorreko araudiak alderatuz. Halaber, herrialde horietan arrantza-kupoek duten funtzionamendua azaldu da, funtsezko elementua baita.
Jarraian, ontzi zahar bat erosi edo berri bat eraikitzea aztertu eta konparatu da, bai hasierako inbertsioa eta bai funtzionamendu-gastuak kontuan hartuta. ROI eta inbertsioa berreskuratzeko epea kalkulatu dira, epe labur zein luzerako errentagarritasuna neurtzeko.

El lugar de The Wheel of Time, de Robert Jordan y Brandon Sanderson, en la literatura fantástica: redes intertextuales, contexto cultural y género literario
No full text418 p.Esta tesis analiza el lugar de The Wheel of Time, de Robert Jordan dentro del subgénero de los mundosépicos imaginarios, centrándose en sus influencias literarias, mitológicas y culturales, su papel en laevolución del subgénero y su relación con la posposmodernidad. La tesis utiliza, para ello, herramientasconceptuales que tienen que ver con la teoría de géneros, la intertextualidad y la comunicación. La sagadesarticula y reestructura una amplia red de referencias globales, integrándolas en un mundo complejocon una estética posposmoderna, y se caracteriza por la refundición de discursos de fuentes diversas, lahibridación de géneros y la interacción con las comunidades lectoras. La autoría se presenta como unesfuerzo colectivo, y se estudia cómo se ha buscado, a través de diversos paratextos, reforzar la imagende autor del significante colectivo Robert Jordan como heredero americano de J. R. R. Tolkien.La tesis estudia el lugar de la saga en la historia de su subgénero, cuyo centro difuso es The Lord of theRings. The Wheel of Time supone un eslabón más en una línea continuista respecto al texto de Tolkien.La obra de Jordan influye en el subgénero de mundos imaginarios a través de un amueblamiento delmundo verosímil, con ecos de situaciones y discursos históricos, un sistema mágico racionalizado y labúsqueda de una audiencia transnacional. Además, utiliza conceptos típicos del subgénero como elhonor, la justicia y el poder, para reflejar ideales contemporáneos que tienen que ver con lamulticulturalidad en un melting pot de culturas ficticias. Esta tesis estudia y problematiza las funcionessociales de los mundos épicos imaginarios: cómo la saga defiende la unicidad humana, al estilo delestudio de los mitos en busca de arquetipos comunes que realizaron Graves o Campbell, cómo actúacómo un espejo de príncipes y cómo subraya la importancia de la libertad individual, que antepone a laidea de ¿bien¿. Finalmente, la tesis compara The Wheel of Time con el Western, analizando suamericanidad a partir de su tratamiento del individualismo, los espacios abiertos en fronteras físicas eideológicas, la naturalización de la violencia, el tratamiento del Otro, la estructura From rags to riches yla figura del héroe fronteriz
«Libros de Cámara del Concejo» Actas Municipales de Vitoria (1480-1481)
No full text460 pCon el objetivo de impulsar el estudio de la sociedad vitoriana bajomedieval, publicamos el tercer volumen de las Actas Municipales de Vitoria correspondientes al curso político entre 1480 y 1481. El cuerpo central del libro lo conforman los acuerdos contenidos en el Libro de Cámara de ese año. Para facilitar el acceso a su contenido, incluimos un catálogo cronológico de los asientos en castellano actual, un glosario de términos para acercar a los lectores el significado de las voces de época y un índice analítico para facilitar las búsquedas.
Se incluyen, además, tres estudios sobre la Vitoria medieval. El primero, elaborado por Ismael García-Gómez, se ocupa del castillo de Vitoria. Es un edificio clave en su historia medieval, olvidado por la historiografía y apenas conocido por los vitorianos. Hoy se esconde entre los muros de la iglesia de San Vicente, aunque destacaba en el skyline de la ciudad medieval. Desde su representación heráldica, el autor, reconstruye la materialidad del castillo, identifica a quienes lo gobernaron y plantea la tensión política generada con los oficiales municipales.
En el segundo, Ernesto García Fernández completa su análisis sobre los clérigos vitorianos con el estudio de las órdenes mendicantes de franciscanos y dominicos y su relación con las élites de la ciudad: la fundación de los conventos de San Francisco, Santa Clara, Santo Domingo y Santa Cruz y los apoyos de los laicos a su desarrollo y consolidación en Vitoria. Los mendicantes, implicados en la vida política municipal, están asociados a la nueva religiosidad de los grupos emergentes de la sociedad urbana.
Finalmente, José Ramón Díaz de Durana, aborda los conflictos que los escuderos y labradores de las aldeas de la Tierra y Jurisdicción mantienen con la élite gobernante durante el Antiguo Régimen. Los primeros en torno a la defensa de sus privilegios fiscales, judiciales y políticos. Los segundos enfrentados por el urundiru, el dinero de la harina, que pagaban quienes tenían más de siete años. Se analizan también las organizaciones que soportan su actividad política y la constitución del Señorío vitoriano
Key quality dimensions for gluten-free bread perceived by general and non-gluten consumers: A case study with apple pomace and flaxseed
No full textThis study aimed to evaluate the sensory perception of a gluten-free bread formulated with sustainable and
locally sourced ingredients: apple pomace and flaxseed. Sensory evaluation was performed with gluten-free and
gluten consumers to analyze the differences in perception based on consumption patterns and to identify the key
quality attributes influencing acceptability. Results showed that the formulations containing up to 6 % apple
pomace and 12 % flaxseed resulted in the most acceptable products for both consumers group. However, higher
levels of apple pomace (10 %) led to lower scores, and no significant differences in overall acceptability were
found between both consumers groups. Nevertheless, gluten-free consumers tended to provide more detailed
sensory descriptions, particularly for texture attributes, likely due to their need to evaluate newly formulated
products with a great variability in their characteristics. “Crispy”, “Light texture” and “artisan-like appearance”,
among others, were identified as positive attributes, while “rubbery” emerged as the main negative factor
affecting acceptability. Based on these findings, a decision tree was proposed as a tool to evaluate gluten-free
bread, balancing defects and positive sensory characteristics. This approach could guide manufacturers in

Learning from errors: Modulatory factors and explanatory mechanisms of the memory benefit of errorful learning
No full text216 p.This Doctoral thesis is in the field of cognitive psychology of memory and leaming. More specifically, it facuses on the effect of making errors during learning and its influence on long-term memory. In recent decades, research has shown that error experiences during learning, when fallowed by corrective feedback, have beneficia! effects on the long-term recall of the correct response. This phenomenon is known as Errorful Learning. However, the fundamental conditions under which this effect occurs and the underlying explanatory mechanisms remain unclear. One key facus is the Pretest effect, which suggests that attempting to answer unknown material befare being exposed to correct answers-even when errors are made-can improve memory more than traditional errorless learning methods. To deepen the understanding of Errorful Learning, this dissertation presents eight behavioural experiments using Retrieval Practice and Pretesting paradigms. Experiments 1 and 2 assessed how semantic relatedness impacts error correction. Results indicated that semantically related material facilitated better learning, although retrieval of previous errors was not necessary to observe benefits. Experiment 3 used a priming procedure to analyse processing times, and showed that words associated with corrective feedback required longer processing times. A second set of experiments compared the robustness of the Pretest effect with Retrieval Practice. Both significantly improved memory, though participants underestimated the benefits of Errorful Learning. The third series examined older adults, showing that the Pretest effect remained effective despite slower reaction times. Finally, the faurth series explored the durability of the effect, demonstrating that benefits persisted even with delayed feedback and testing. These findings contributes to the understanding of Errorful Learning, demonstrating its efficacy as a versatile educational tool and highlighting its potential to benefit various populations. By integrating theoretical perspectives with practica! applications, this work not only expands our knowledge of the influence of errors on memory and learning but also offers concrete strategies far optimizing teaching and studying-encouraging us to perceive and use errors to our advantage and fastering a more constructive approach to errors in the learning process
The Practicum in the garden: integrating STEM and SDGs in Primary Education
No full textEste artículo presenta una experiencia didáctica llevada a cabo desde el Prácticum para trabajar la competencia STEM y los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en Educación Primaria. Su finalidad es promover la utilización del huerto ecológico como contexto de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas en dicha etapa. La propuesta se realizó con una estudiante de Prácticum y un grupo de 23 estudiantes de primer curso de Educación Primaria de un centro escolar de Vitoria-Gasteiz (País Vasco, España). La metodología de investigación utilizada fue mixta con enfoque descriptivo. Como resultados cabe destacar (i) la consecución de un aprendizaje significativo de las áreas STEM tratadas, (ii) el desarrollo de las habilidades socioafectivas, y (iii) la concienciación del alumnado de la importancia del cuidado de los hábitats del entorno. Este tipo de intervención fomenta la formación del alumnado y del futuro profesorado en valores para la sostenibilidad y se alinea con los objetivos ODS4 y ODS15
Modernism as Covert Colonialism: Armenian Architects and European Influence in Interwar Iran
No full textThis study explores the coloniality of modernism in interwar Iran and the role of Armenian architects in this process. During this time, Iran, a nation that was never formally colonized, experienced significant modernization with the rise of Reza Shah to power in the early 1920s. This entailed importing European modernity into every facet of the country’s affairs to address the perceived "backwardness." Incorporating methodologies,
concepts, and theoretical frameworks from the works of postcolonial scholars, this study shows that Eurocentrism was not confined to direct colonial rule. In the case of Iran,
as modernism created dualities of "old" and "new," the resulting socio-spatial divisions were colonial in nature. The study also shows how Iranian-Armenian architects played an intermediary role as pro-Western intellectuals. Finally, by examining historical accounts,
architectural projects, and urban planning strategies, this research argues that modernism functioned as a covert colonial tool in interwar Iran
