    Este manual de prácticas de laboratorio está diseñado para guiar al alumnado en la caracterización nanoestructural de superficies de discos ópticos (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) mediante Microscopía de Fuerza Atómica (AFM). A través de una metodología experimental detallada, se instruye en la preparación de muestras, adquisición de imágenes topográficas y análisis cuantitativo de estructuras como pits y lands. El documento incluye fundamentos teóricos del AFM, anatomía de los dispositivos de almacenamiento óptico (OSD), protocolos de escaneo, tratamiento de imágenes con software especializado (Gwyddion) y cálculos de capacidad de almacenamiento basados en parámetros físicos. Se promueve el desarrollo de competencias en instrumentación avanzada, análisis de datos y comprensión de la relación entre estructura y funcionalidad en materiales nanoestructurados

    Advanced Properties and Multifunctionality in Dual-Cured Nanocomposites: An Experimental and Modeling Approach

    The thesis is structured into three thematic blocks that address the progressive development of multifunctional epoxy nanocomposites. The first block focuses on the influence of nanofillers, especially graphene nanoplatelets, and demonstrates that morphology, surface area, and dispersion time critically affect electrical and thermal properties. Self-stratification during molding induces anisotropy, making control of gelation time essential. Applications such as thermoelectric heating and EMI shielding are related to adjustable percolation thresholds. The second block focuses on advanced sequential dual-curing systems, starting with nucleophilic thiol-epoxy networks. The incorporation of carbon nanotubes enables electroactive shape memory and in situ curing, improving efficiency and enabling smart functionalities such as self-heating, de-icing, and magnetic field activation. Analytical models relate the nanoscale structure to performance. The third block explores bio-based epoxy systems and high-temperature dual-curing systems derived from resveratrol.     Hepatitis aguda grave secundaria a consumo de alcohol

    Este documento ofrece una revisión clínica y terapéutica actualizada sobre la hepatitis alcohólica grave, abordando su definición, diagnóstico basado en los criterios NIAAA, epidemiología, mecanismos patogénicos y principales factores pronósticos. Explica de manera clara el papel de la inflamación, la disbiosis intestinal y la disfunción hepatocelular en la progresión de la enfermedad. Incluye además un análisis detallado de las opciones terapéuticas, destacando el uso de corticoides, la evaluación de la respuesta mediante el índice de Lille, la indicación de trasplante hepático precoz y la evidencia disponible de múltiples ensayos clínicos con fármacos antiinflamatorios, antioxidantes, regeneradores hepáticos y moduladores de la microbiota. Finalmente, subraya que la abstinencia alcohólica es el principal factor que determina la supervivencia a largo plazoLa hepatitis alcohólica grave (HAG) es la forma aguda y potencialmente mortal de la enfermedad hepática por alcohol, típicamente sobre una cirrosis previa. Se caracteriza por ictericia de inicio reciente, consumo elevado de alcohol en los meses anteriores y parámetros analíticos característicos (AST entre 50–400 U/L, AST/ALT >1,5 y bilirrubina >3 mg/dL). Su diagnóstico sigue los criterios del NIAAA, y aunque la biopsia no es imprescindible, puede confirmar el cuadro en casos dudosos. La HAG presenta una elevada mortalidad precoz, especialmente cuando coexisten infecciones o SIRS, y su fisiopatología implica daño directo por acetaldehído, disbiosis, activación inmune, fibrosis y fallo hepatocelular. El tratamiento de elección sigue siendo la prednisolona 40 mg/día durante 4 semanas, que mejora la supervivencia a corto plazo. La respuesta debe valorarse a la semana mediante el índice de Lille: si es >0,45 se recomienda suspender los corticoides por ausencia de beneficio. Los pacientes no respondedores presentan una mortalidad muy elevada y no disponen de tratamientos farmacológicos de rescate eficaces. En casos cuidadosamente seleccionados, el trasplante hepático precoz es la única estrategia capaz de mejorar la supervivencia. Diversos tratamientos han sido evaluados en ensayos clínicos —pentoxifilina, anakinra, selonsertib, infliximab, factores estimuladores de colonias, N-acetilcisteína, moduladores de la microbiota, antibióticos o dispositivos extracorpóreos, pero ninguno ha demostrado un beneficio claro en la supervivencia a medio plazo. La abstinencia mantenida constituye el principal determinante de la supervivencia a largo plazo, por lo que el abordaje multidisciplinar del trastorno por uso de alcohol es esencial.Institutional Suppor

    Este estudio analiza el conflicto israelo-liba- nés, destacando la ocupación del territorio libanés y la resistencia de Hizbulah. El objetivo principal es reconocer la relevancia de la ocupación y los antecedentes históricos del conflicto actual. Se examina el conflicto desde los años 70, subrayando las invasiones israelíes y la consolidación de Hizbulah. Se analizan las resoluciones del Consejo de Seguridad, donde Israel ha justificado su derecho a defenderse, y los fundamentos jurídicos invocados por Israel y el Líbano. El estudio está basado en un análisis documental y doctrinal, incluyendo una revisión crítica de las resoluciones internacionales y las declaraciones de los actores implicados. Revela la ineficacia del Consejo de Seguridad y la instrumentalización de las normas internacionales. Concluye señalando la necesidad de un compromiso internacional para abordar las causas estructurales del conflicto y avanzar hacia una resolución basada en el fin de la ocupación y el fortalecimiento del Estado libanés

    Comprehensive permeation analysis and mechanical resistance of electroless pore-plated Pd-membranes with ordered mesoporous ceria as intermediate layer

    H-2-selective composite membranes, particularly those based on palladium films deposited onto porous stainless-steel supports, represent a promising technology to be practically included in both independent devices and membrane reactors. To reach thin H-2-selective films and hence high permeance values, the use of a wide variety of intermediate layers is usually adopted in the literature. However, an agreement about the best solution is not found up to now. In this context, the current study presents the use of Ordered Mesoporous Ceria (OMC) particles as intermediate layer for the improvement of permeation properties of Electroless Pore-Plated (ELP-PP) Pd-composite membranes. OMC was obtained by nanocasting from SBA-15 as temporary template and cerium nitrate (III) hexahydrate as metal precursor. Resultant OMC particles have around 100 nm spherical diameter, an average pore-size diameter of 10-12 nm, and a total BET surface of around 134 m(2)/g. This material was next deposited onto the external surface of tubular Porous Stainless-Steel (PSS) supports by vacuum-assisted dip-coating (VA-DC) to form an intermediate layer that makes the preparation of a defect-free and thin Pd-film easier. This procedure allows the preparation of Pd composite membranes (OMC-Pd) with Pd thicknesses around 10 mu m, H-2 permeances of 1.03.10(-3) mol m(-2) s(-1) Pa-0.5 at 400 degrees C, and high ideal selectivity alpha(H2/N2) >= 24,000. It should be noted that H-2 permeance has been increased up to 6 times in comparison with other ELP-PP membranes without any intermediate layer and 2 times in contrast to membranes containing dense CeO2 particles instead of the mesoporous ones for the intermediate layer. Moreover, Pd-membranes so prepared (OMC-Pd) have shown excellent mechanical resistance in a wide variety of operating conditions such as temperature, pressure, and permeate flux direction, maintaining a high H-2-selectivity without delamination or peeling. These properties were also maintained in case of feeding different H-2/N-2 mixtures, where the concentration-polarization effect seems to stabilize for lower H-2 concentration values in the feed stream, not being noticeably influenced by temperature

    In this paper, an assessment is made of the doctrine of the property of Francisco Suarez in relation to scholastic tradition to which he belongs. We find aspects very similar to other scholastic authors such as the consequentialist defence of property or the limits to exclusivity in case of extreme necessity but there are also very novel aspects such as the justification of appropriation for labour in the state of nature. His doctrine also moves away from the Thomistic tradition when he analyses the category of appropriation as a permissive and prescriptive right at the same time, an attribute that confers exclusivity on the owner and endows his ideas with a great modernity

    Groundwater is the main water resource in Tenerife (Canary Islands) where it represents almost 90% of the consumption. For the Insular Hydrological Plan the most important aquifer in the future will be the one located in Las Cañadas which belongs to the III Hydrogeological Zone. For exploiting this aquifer in a rational way in the future it is necessary to know and assess carefully the recharge estimates. It is for this reason, that the choice of the rainfall interpolation method is so important. In this study three different interpolation methods have been used to compare their results with the real data of the gauges and to obtain doing that, the best precipitation estimate in the area. The results show the ordinary kriging to be the best interpolation method in the study area and that the use of the relationship between elevation and precipitation do not increase the accuracy of the interpolation even though the climatic characteristics of the island have been taken into account

    LLNN: A Scalable LUT-Based Logic Neural Network Architecture for FPGAs

    When deploying neural networks for inference on specialized hardware devices such as field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), designers often face challenges due to limited on-chip memory. Techniques like pruning and quantization reduce network size but often lead to suboptimal designs when transitioning from software frameworks to hardware implementations. A co-design approach using Logic Neural Networks (LNNs) offers an alternative that takes hardware characteristics into account from the outset, replacing conventional neurons with logic gates. However, this approach introduces scalability issues for k-input Boolean functions, with parameter complexity of O(2(2k)) and high routing overhead, making FPGA implementation both complex and time-consuming. To address these limitations, we propose a novel look-up table (LUT) logic neural network architecture (LLNN), where each neuron is implemented as a LUT encoding a logic function. This architecture leverages the LUT-rich structure of FPGAs, reducing parameter complexity to O(2(k)) and improving routing efficiency. Our LLNN architectures achieve ultra-low latency-around 2 nanoseconds-on both MNIST and JSC datasets, while maintaining accuracy comparable to state-of-the-art co-designed models.
