    Rotylenchus sardashtensis n. sp., a monosexual species from Iran, with molecular identification and detailed morphological observations on an Iranian population of Rotylenchus cypriensis Antoniou, 1980 (Nematoda: Rhabditida: Hoplolaimidae)

    Rotylenchus sardashtensis n. sp., a new monosexual species is described and illustrated based on morphological, morphometric and molecular studies. Rotylenchus sardashtensis n. sp. appears close morphologically and molecularly to eight known species of the genus, i.e. R. buxophilus Golden, 1956, R. eximius Siddiqi, 1964, R. breviglans Sher, 1965, R. cypriensis Antoniou, 1980, R. pakistanensis Maqbool & Shahina, 1986, R. vitis Cantalapiedra-Navarrete, Li,banas, Archidona-Yuste, Palomares-Rius & Castillo, 2012, R. paravitis Cantalapiedra-Navarrete, Navas-Cort,s, Li,banas, Vovlas, Subbotin, Palomares-Rius & Castillo, 2013 and R. dalikhaniensis Aliramaji, Pourjam, Alvarez-Ortega, Pedram & Atighi, 2015 from which the morphological differences are discussed. The new species is characterised mainly in having a hemispherical and well set off lip region with 3-4 annuli under light microscopy and irregular cob-like appearance under scanning electron microscopy (SEM), a stylet 26-30 A mu m long, a vulva located at 61-77% of body length with double epiptygma, rounded tail with 2-4 annuli and ventral mucron at its tip. Morphologically, R. sardashtensis n. sp. could be distinguished from all similar species within the genus by its matrix code as follows: A3, B1, C1, D4, E1, F2, G2, H5, I2, J2, K1. Rotylenchus cypriensis collected from the rhizosphere of Prunus sp. in Gilangharb region is characterised with its morphological and molecular data. Phylogenetic analyses based on sequences of the D2-D3 expansion region of the 28S rRNA gene and the ITS1 fragment revealed the relationships of both species examined in present study and other species of the genus Rotylenchus Filipjev, 1936 and the family Hoplolaimidae Filipjev, 1934 included in analyses

    Improving impulsivity assessment using movement recognition: A pilot study

    The Continuous Performance Test (CPT) is a widely used computerized test to assess impulsivity. This article proposes the use of a CPT variant based on movement recognition to obtain more accurate measurements of impulsivity. In this pilot study, 22 volunteers participated in a CPT experiment responding to the stimuli by raising his or her dominant hand instead of pressing the space bar in a keyboard. Using this method, correlations of self-reported impulsivity with number of commission errors and average reaction time improved those obtained with standard CPT

    Does authentic leadership promote higher job satisfaction in public versus private organizations? Exploring the role of vigor and engagement

    Background: Several studies have suggested that leaders showing high levels of authentic lead-ership increase workers' overall job satisfaction, which is composed of different aspects with some distinctions among them. Furthermore, the implication of affective and motivational vari-ables, such as vigor and engagement at work, respectively, have not been jointly considered for analysing the differences and similarities between public and private organizations. Thus, this study aims to analyze whether vigor at work and engagement at work play a mediating role between authentic leadership and different aspects of job satisfaction, considering both public and private organizations, to propose a trans-organizational model. Method: In this cross-sectional and cross-sectoral study, 1029 workers in private (n = 619) and public (n = 410) organizations from Spain participated completing a questionnaire. Results: Structural equation modelling was used to perform a multigroup mediation analysis (public versus private organizations) in which the invariance between groups was previously explored. The model showed a good fit to the data in which authentic leadership affected the dimensions of job satisfaction both directly and indirectly (through vigor at work and engage-ment). However, authentic leadership had a greater positive effect on vigor at work for private organizations; whereas work engagement was not significantly related to the job satisfaction dimension related to legal aspects for public organizations. Conclusion: The vigor at work and work engagement were important variables to explain the authentic leadership-job satisfaction relationship in both private and public organizations. Nevertheless, the relationship between work engagement and the dimensions of job satisfaction was different for both organizations

    En el contexto actual de la educación superior, las metodologías activas facilitan los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje en ambientes flexibles y accesibles. Metodologías activas mixtas, como Aula Invertida y Aprendizaje Cooperativo, mejoran el aprendizaje y la participación metodología, en estudiantes de tercer curso del Grado de Enfermería en la asignatura Enfermería Familiar y Comunitaria. Las variables evaluadas incluyeron el grado de satisfacción de la actividad y la utilidad de la metodología docente. La valoración de los 144 estudiantes fue satisfactoria, obteniéndose una valoración global de 4,2 sobre 5. En conclusión, la combinación de Aula Invertida con Aprendizaje Cooperativo ha demostrado ser efectiva para mejorar el aprendizaje y la participación de los estudiantes, fomentando un entorno educativo dinámico y colaborativo

    Analysis of Causes of Delays and Cost Overruns as Well as Mitigation Measures to Improve Profitability and Sustainability in Turnkey Industrial Projects

    Delays and cost overruns in turnkey projects can lead to significant economic losses, disputes and even project abandonment. These facts negatively impact the environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies of companies involved in the project. In this paper, a bibliographic review was conducted to identify the leading causes of delays and cost overruns in turnkey industrial projects in the refining, gas and conventional electricity generation (RGE) sector and propose good practices to avoid or mitigate them. We identified 893 causes of delays and cost overruns and 147 mitigation measures. The causes and mitigation measures were grouped into eight categories based on the execution phases of an RGE project. A critical analysis was carried out to avoid duplication, and the result was evaluated by experts in turnkey project management, reducing the causes and mitigation measures to a final set of 103 and 49, respectively. The construction category showed the most significant influence on project delays and cost overruns, and this, together with the preliminary phase and project management categories, contributed to 60% of the identified causes. The findings of this study can help project managers improve the profitability of turnkey industrial projects, promoting innovation and sustainability within companies and society

    Neuronize v2: Bridging the Gap Between Existing Proprietary Tools to Optimize Neuroscientific Workflows

    Knowledge about neuron morphology is key to understanding brain structure and function. There are a variety of software tools that are used to segment and trace the neuron morphology. However, these tools usually utilize proprietary formats. This causes interoperability problems since the information extracted with one tool cannot be used in other tools. This article aims to improve neuronal reconstruction workflows by facilitating the interoperability between two of the most commonly used software tools-Neurolucida (NL) and Imaris (Filament Tracer). The new functionality has been included in an existing tool-Neuronize-giving rise to its second version. Neuronize v2 makes it possible to automatically use the data extracted with Imaris Filament Tracer to generate a tracing with dendritic spine information that can be read directly by NL. It also includes some other new features, such as the ability to unify and/or correct inaccurately-formed meshes (i.e., dendritic spines) and to calculate new metrics. This tool greatly facilitates the process of neuronal reconstruction, bridging the gap between existing proprietary tools to optimize neuroscientific workflows

    A new assessment methodology for virtual reality surgical simulators

    This paper presents an assessment methodology to validate surgical simulators which will help researchers in avoiding most common errors by providing a complete structured guide, The methodology organizes the questions depending oil the validities they are related to, helping in objectives' definition and consistent hypothesis formulation. We will define the study depending on its purpose, time course and the study factor assignment, taking into account legal and ethical issues and choosing the population and sample size. If it is all experimental study, we will determine if there exist a control group and the operational definition of variables. We will avoid extraneous variables and make our study blind, establishing the final evaluation procedure, and stipulating actuation and observation protocols. A feasibility study will be performed before executing the pilot and final studies in which we will analyse the data as indicated by the statistical plait, obtaining our results and conclusions. We provide all example, applying the assessment methodology step by step to the evaluation of a virtual reality arthroscopy simulator with haptic feedback. Finally, possible experiments are. proposed as well as a conscientious study of different alternatives for the final evaluation procedure, and all extended proposal of surgical competence assessment measures.
