What is the Value as Described by Senior Leaders of Understanding Individual Brain Sex Differences in the Workplace - An Exploration
The primary purpose of this research was to explore the value to senior leaders of understanding individual brain sex differences in the workplace, particularly in the context of the limited representation of women at the highest executive levels in modern corporations. While there is evidence supporting the positive impact of male/female differences on business performance, research addressing the challenges of understanding brain function differences, both in men and women, remains limited. This study addresses this gap by conducting a phenomenological exploration of leaders’ lived experiences who participated in a workshop on brain sex differences at work.
The workshop involved ten semi-structured interviews with both female and male leaders, sharing insights from neuroscience and practical tools developed by the researcher. Topics covered included basic brain function, neurochemistry affecting performance states, key neurobiological sex differences, and the influence of nature and nurture on individual brain development.
Five key findings emerged from the study: A demonstrable gap exists in awareness and knowledge of brain sex differences at work; participants applied acquired knowledge effectively in three domains: Self, Teams, and Clients; the application of new knowledge induced a profound mindset shift among many leaders; improved relationships resulting from the application of knowledge contributed to better self-awareness, enhanced understanding of others, and more effective approaches to business tasks; extracting full organizational value from this knowledge posed a significant challenge.
These findings not only contribute to existing research but also provide innovative perspectives on addressing persistent business challenges. The research fills an academic void by offering new approaches to understanding differences within an organization and presents insights applicable at both individual and organizational scales
Introduction: lived experience, lifelong learning, community activism and social change
This book identifies and celebrates the learning adult educators can gain from the numerous sites of community activism, learning, and social change that are currently taking place across the globe.
While the relentless push of neoliberalism has struck at the heart of adult education provision in many countries, including that provided by universities, institutions of further education, international development agencies, NGOs, vocational training centres and the local government sector, what can adult educators learn and what is being learnt when we turn to sites of community activism as a mechanism for broader social change? Drawing on empirical research, as well as stories and blogs about social change and transformation from those participating in community activist struggles, this book features diverse contributions from adult education practitioners, theorists and activist-researchers who share community activist practices from around the world and provide insight into the ways these have contributed to social change and political transformation in different spaces and communities.
Each chapter and blog in this collection relate to different dimensions of community, democracy and dialogue and how this space has become one in which delimiting factors must constantly be fought. In these contributions, questions of critical pedagogy and voice, and contested notions of power, place and voice, are lived, felt and troubled in different national and international contexts

Visual scientific modelling – a visual hypothesis for the nature of consciousness & the evolution of conscious awareness.
"A model of consciousness is a theoretical description that relates brain properties of consciousness (e.g., fast irregular electrical activity, widespread brain activation) to phenomenal properties of consciousness (e.g., Qualia, a first-person perspective, the unity of a conscious scene). Because of the diverse nature of these properties (Seth et al. 2005) useful models can be either mathematical/logical or verbal/conceptual. (Scholarpedia, n.d)"
In relation to this explanation for “useful models of consciousness” this dissertation will aim to explain the creative development of a prototype visual scientific model of the conscious experience of the observer and suggest its relevance and then possible usefulness in explaining and making tangible this abstract phenomenon of consciousness (Scholarpedia, n.d.).
The “Conscious experience of the observer” is suggested to be so defined as the entirety of any given human beings’ life, from birth to death, it is defined in an attempt to quantify the physics principles at play in facilitating that conscious experience of life as an observer for any given one of us between these key points in our human conscious experience and our timeline of life in this universe, as a product of the universe on Planet Earth.
Through the use of visual problem solving, creative thinking, visual communication practice, using basic diagrammatic graphic design tools and a vast literature review process, it will then be shown that a visual model of the conscious experience of the observer could potentially be useful in creating an informed visual hypothesis for the nature of consciousness itself. It will be shown how the creative and collaborative creative process was fundamental in attaining what is possibly now a useful visual, conceptual, higher-order theory of consciousness as attention to memory which
operates primarily on understandings derived directly from the Penrose interpretation and other competing models of consciousness and their predictions and models of understanding. (Scholarpedia, n.d). therefore, it is wise to have an understanding of models of consciousness and the topics of discussion before engaging in this reading.
It will also be shown how the hypothesis for applying understandings through quantum mechanics, relativity, the Penrose interpretation of consciousness and the new definition of Endoquantum Mechanics have come to form what can only be described as a potential unified field theory of everything we could ever come to know and remember throughout our conscious experience as observers (Kaku, 2020) Further it will be shown how this would not have been possible without the creative thinking, collaborative and visual problem solving processes through the development of basic visual and logical scientific diagrams through simple graphic design tools

Spiritual experiences across the lifespan: empirical support for the Fibonacci Life Chart Method and the entropic brain hypothesis
This study investigated the predictive power of the Fibonacci Life Chart Method and its correlation with the entropic brain hypothesis in understanding spiritual experiences across different age groups. Utilising case reports from the Alister Hardy Religious Experience Research Centre, this study found significant patterns in the occurrence of spiritual experiences at ages corresponding to the Fibonacci sequence, particularly around age 18. These findings align with the entropic brain hypothesis, which suggests a link between high brain entropy at specific developmental stages and the likelihood of spiritual experiences. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the intersection between mathematical patterns, neurodevelopment, and spiritual experiences, offering new insights into human consciousness and development. This underscores the potential of integrating mathematical models and neurocognitive frameworks to explore spirituality and consciousness
Introducing Phenomenology in Action for Researching Networked Learning
This chapter introduces the book, providing definitions of the book’s scope and key concepts: phenomenology and networked learning. It briefly contextualises these historically. The book project emerged from a collaboration known as hanfod.NL, and we offer a brief account of its development, including the organisation of an online workshop in 2021, and a double symposium at the 2022 Networked Learning Conference, Sundsvall, Sweden. After highlighting some benefits of bringing phenomenology to networked learning, we present a passage that situates the book within pertinent current debates, seeking to anticipate some responses: that refocusing upon ‘the human’ runs counter to recent posthuman work, which de-centres human agency; that networked learning and other learning technology research already features phenomenological work; and that phenomenology exhibits a Eurocentric bias. The chapter closes with a brief overview of the book’s sections and the chapters within them. In summary, the sections progress from laying out what phenomenology offers to networked learning research, exemplifying topics and approaches taken up in phenomenological studies, and finally showcasing how a phenomenological lens can critically inform and interrogate networked learning practice and research

A Malware Classification Method Based on the Multi-Layer Feature Fusion of Malware Image Representations and Opcode Markov Images
As the threat of malware to information security becomes increasingly severe, the study of efficient malware classification methods has become more urgent. This paper proposes a multilayer malware classification method based on the fusion of image representation and opcode features. By integrating the features of image-based malware representation and opcode Markov image, the classification performance is enhanced. Specifically, our model introduces two feature fusion modules: a cross-attention-based fusion module and a multiplication-based low-level feature fusion module. These modules achieve effective fusion of deep features, thereby improving the accuracy of malware classification. Experimental results show that the model combining malware image features extracted by ResNet18 and malware opcode Markov image features extracted by EfficientNetB0 performs the best. Comparative experiments with traditional feature fusion methods demonstrate that our approach has significant advantages in classification performance. Further experiments on another dataset validate the generalization ability of our method. This research provides an efficient and effective solution for malware classification
