Le strategie d’investimento delle imprese turistiche, le performance economiche e il ruolo del PNRR
Per il terzo anno consecutivo SRM ha realizzato una survey rivolta alle imprese turistiche con l’obiettivo di integrare, con il punto di vista degli operatori, le analisi già svolte sul settore e legate non solo agli aspetti qualitativi a quantitativi del fenomeno turistico ma anche alle sue ricadute sul territorio.
Nello specifico, anche la survey di quest'anno è stata realizzata in collaborazione con l'Università degli Studi di Bari "Aldo Moro" nell'ambito dello Spoke 7 su "Territorial Sustainability" del progetto GRInS (Growing Resilient, INclusive and Sustainable), coordinato dalla Prof.ssa Angela Stefania Bergantino. L’indagine è indirizzata a 1.000 imprese alberghiere – 100 in più rispetto a quelle oggetto dell’indagine dello scorso anno – delle quali un quarto (247 in valore assoluto) è collocato nelle regioni del Mezzogiorno.
Come per le indagini precedenti, i principali temi indagati dalla survey hanno riguardato aspetti di consuntivo, relativamente a quanto realizzato dalle imprese in termini di risultati aziendali, investimenti, clientela estera, il grado di conoscenza del PNRR e di coinvolgimento in progetti ed esso legati e previsioni circa investimenti e andamento del mercato turistico nella prossima stagione
10 years of ‘archaeogaming’: an Italian perspective
Archaeogaming is a term coined in 2013 by Andrew Reinhard. It emerged from a grassroots movement in digital archaeology aimed at exploring the use of gaming technologies for studying the past and archaeological representation through video games’ narrative and interactive potential. This research explores the reception of archaeogaming theory in Italy over the 2013-2023, stressing the positive impact of public archaeology in addressing academic misconceptions towards gaming. The shift in perspective led to more projects mixing archaeology and video games and an organic collaboration between academic archaeology and other disciplines. Although archaeogaming is a new area of research in Italy, some trends have already emerged. These reveal both successful elements and missed opportunities. Acknowledging both aspects seems crucial to calibrate future projects on original archaeogaming theory, including co-creating, exploring, and promoting knowledge in the digital space
Impact of autochthonous non-conventional Hanseniaspora valbyensis on fermentation and quality of pomegranate cider-ike beverage
This study aimed to assess the differences, in terms of physico-chemical characteristics, antioxidant properties and flavour profile, among four pomegranate cider-like beverages (PCB), produced starting from two pomegranate juices, fermented by either commercial Saccharomyces cerevisiae or a non-conventional, autochthonous strain of Hanseniaspora valbyensis. Although both starters were able to drive the fermentation of pomegranate juices, H. valbyensis reached higher cell densities four days earlier than S. cerevisiae. After fermentation, PCB were subjected
or not to a clarification treatment (centrifugation or filtration) and matured for additional seven days. In the mature PCB, filtration caused a stronger decrease in yeast cell density compared to centrifugation. As for elemental composition, K and Ca increased during fermentation, whereas Fe and Cu decreased. A strong reduction of Cu, Zn, as well as Fe and Ni, was observed in clarified mature PCB. The use of H. val-
byensis led to a more rapid consumption of monosaccharides, higher acetic acid and lower ethanol concentrations compared to S. cerevisiae. The final profile of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) was reached after three and seven days of fermentation with autochthonous and commercial yeast, respectively. After maturation, PCB ob-
tained with H. valbyensis kept more complex VOCs profile, compared to S. cerevisiae. The panel test on centrifuged PCB did not result in any significant difference. The antioxidant activity of PCB was always high and not affected by fermentation, type of starter, and maturation. This study paves the way for better understanding fermentation capability and impact of H. valbyensis on food quality

In this paper we explore the relationships between Calvino's memos and Mathematics. In the first part, we discuss how Lightness, Quickness, Exactitude, Visibility, Multiplicity are present in the mathematical language, reasoning and in the work of the mathematician. In addiction, we follow a similar path for the topics of Calvino's lecture of which we only know the title or some notes. In the final part, we explain why `Singularity' could be chosen as a possible topic for Calvino's seventh lectur
Acaropathogenic fungi against hazelnut big bud mite Phytoptus avellanae.
Phytoptus avellanae Nalepa (Acari: Eriophyoidea) is a
key phytophagous pest of the hazelnut tree. In spring,
mites migrate towards the newly formed mixed buds,
infesting them and causing swelling (big buds - BB) that
develop throughout autumn and winter. Recently,
severe hazelnut orchards infestations have been
reported strongly reducing productivity per hectare,
thus urgently demanding appropriate control
measures. In this study we explored the effectivined of
low-environmental-impact control strategies against
the hazelnut gall mite using entomopathogenic fungi
(EPF). Specifically, commercial formulations based on
Beauveria bassiana and Lecanicillium muscarium,
together with a wild Akanthomyces spp. isolated form
hazelnut buds collected in the field were tested.
Briefly, the BB were immerged in a 0.5% sodium
hypochlorite solution, then each brats were dissected into individual scales and immerged aqueous conidial
suspensions of the tested EPF (Naturalis® 9.2x107 cfu/l,
Mycotal® 1x1010 cfu/l, Akanthomyces spp. 1x1010 cfu/l
) and the control (water) solution for 10 seconds,
drying the brats under a laminar flow hood, and finally
incubated at 21±1°C for 7 days on 1% water agar in
Petri dishes. Mite survival was assessed by quantifying
live and dead mites on 30 replicates per treatment at
different time points (24, 48, 72, 96 and 168 hours). At
the end of the assay, some apparently infected mite
specimens were transferred to PDA to attempt reisolation
of the fungi. At the end of the assay (168
hours) B. bassiana (10.78±0.02%) and Akanthomyces
spp. (2.9 ±0.01%) application resulted as lower relative
survival (p<0.01) compared to the control
(47.52±0.03%) and L. muscarium (32.10±0.03%).
Additional field trials in hazelnut orchards were
conducted by BB and nuts immersion using the
Naturalis® conidial suspensions used in the laboratory.
The control treatment was made by means of water.
The experiment was carried out on 20 replicas per
treatment. Fourteen days after application, the organs
were cut from plant and examined under a dissection
microscope (buds) or washed in a 2% bleach + 0.2%
dish soap solution (nuts). The BB treated with B.
bassiana (17.37±4.63%) showed a lower relative
survival rate (p≤0.05; n=20) when compared to the
control (36.35±5.84%). Complementary results were
found on the nuts population comparison, where
reduced mite individuals per nut (p≤0.05; n=20) was
also observed when treated with B. bassiana
(10.57±3.17 individuals) compared to the control
(25.79±5.84 individuals). These results provide
important insights into the efficacy of microbial control
of eriophyid mites in hazelnut orchards, opening new
pathways for integrated pest management strategies
GAL-KARS: Exploiting LLMs for Graph Augmentation in Knowledge-Aware Recommender Systems
In this paper, we propose a recommendation model that exploits a graph augmentation technique based on Large Language Models (LLMs) to enrich the information encoded in its underlying Knowledge Graph (KG). Our work relies on the assumption that the triples encoded in a KG can often be noisy or incomplete, and this may lead to sub-optimal modeling of both the characteristics of items and the users' preferences. In this setting, graph augmentation can be a suitable solution to improve the quality of the data model and provide users with high-quality recommendations.Accordingly, in this work, we align with this research line and propose GAL-KARS (Graph Augmentation with LLMs for Knowledge-Aware Recommender Systems). In our framework, we start from a KG, and we design some prompts for querying an LLM and augmenting the graph by incorporating: (a) further features describing the items; (b) further nodes describing the preferences of the users, obtained by reasoning over the items they like. The resulting KG is then passed through a Knowledge Graph Encoder that learns users' and items' embeddings based on the augmented KG. These embeddings are finally used to train a recommendation model and provide users with personalized suggestions. As shown in the experimental session, graph augmentation based on LLMs can significantly improve the predictive accuracy of our recommendation model, thus confirming the effectiveness of the model and the validity of our intuitions

Il dialogo civico è necessario e si basa su una doppia fiducia: quella dei cittadini nelle istituzioni e quella delle istituzioni nei cittadini. Oggi viviamo una profonda crisi della fiducia legata anche al bisogno frustrato di approvazione, riconoscimento, dignità sociale. Gli spazi di comunicazione e confronto si assottigliano, ma è necessario costruire occasioni e pratiche per esercitarsi in questo delicato compito e evitare che le paure compromettano la convivenza civile.Civic dialogue is necessary and is based on a double trust: that of citizens in institutions and that of institutions in citizens. Today we are experiencing a profound crisis of trust also linked to the frustrated need for approval, recognition, social dignity.
