Sexual dysfunction and its impact on quality of life among female haematological cancer patients : a cross-sectional study in Malaysia
However, information on sexual function is scarce, particularly among female patients with underlying haematological malignancies in Asia. This study is aimed at determining the prevalence of SD in these patients, identifying associated factors, and examining their effects on QoL.
Methods This cross-sectional study, conducted in Malaysia from 2014 to 2016, involved female patients with haematological malignancies who were on active treatment or had completed active treatment. Sociodemographic and clinical data were obtained through patient interviews and medical records. Sexual functions were assessed using the Female Sexual Function Index, psychological aspects with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and health-related QoL using the European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 version 3.0 questionnaire. Data were analysed using SPSS software.
Results Of the 89 patients recruited, 82% reported SD. Significant associations were found between SD and menopause
(OR, 5.7; 95% CI, 1.60–20.34; p = 0.007) and higher HADS-depression score (OR, 1.6; 95% CI, 1.14–2.21; p = 0.006).
Patients with SD exhibited lower median scores in Global Health Status/QoL (QL2) (66.7 [IQR 33.3] vs. 91.7 [IQR 33.3],
p = 0.009), role function (83.3 [IQR 33.3] vs. 100 [IQR 16.7], p = 0.033), cognitive function (83.3 [IQR 25.0] vs. 100 [IQR 16.7]), and pain (33.3 [IQR 33.3] vs. 0 [IQR 16.7]). Weak positive correlations were observed between FSFI score and QL2 (Rs = 0.252, p = 0.018) and cognitive function (Rs = 0.237, p = 0.026), while a moderate positive correlation was found with role function (Rs = 0.315, p = 0.003).
Conclusions SD is highly prevalent in female patients with haematological cancers, significantly impacting QoL, and this
needs to be addressed accordingly
Influence of MHD Flow on Shrinking Sheet with Partial Slip and Heat Generation at Stagnation Point
Fluid dynamics encompasses the fundamental principles of continuity, momentum, and energy conservation, which are applied through mathematical models like the Navier-Stokes equations. These equations are essential for describing how fluid properties like velocity, pressure, and density change in response to forces and environmental conditions. Thus, this study attempted to explore the characteristics of
flow and heat transfer of a shrinking sheet in magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), along with the effect of partial slip and heat generation on the system. We employ a similarity transformation technique for turning the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. These equations are solved numerically through shooting method in Maple, and the results are compared to the previous research. The analysis shows that the suction parameter and velocity slip parameter have an increasing effect on both the skin friction rate and the heat transfer rate. In the meantime, the heat transfer rate decreases as the parameter increases for the heat generation, magnetic parameter, Eckert number and thermal slip parameter. The bvp4c solver in MATLAB is implemented to conduct a stability analysis and determine the physically feasible solution. According to our research, the stability of the solution occurs only in the first solution
Systematic Scoping on Point-of-care Monitoring of Direct Oral Anticoagulants in Patients with Non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation: Current Status and Future Perspectives in Malaysia
This review explores the use of point-of-care (POC) monitoring of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in patients with non-valvular AF globally and in Malaysia. As patent protection measures for innovative medicines come to an end, and generic alternatives become available, we expect a greater uptake of DOACs than warfarin by patients due to cost advantages. However, the anticoagulation effect of DOACs has been shown to vary from patient to patient and is associated with thrombotic and bleeding risks. Despite the availability of laboratory technology, including at POC, that can monitor the pharmacological effects of DOACs, it has not achieved any substantial traction in clinical use to date. Future efforts should focus on establishing the therapeutic window or ‘sweet spot’ of DOAC therapy for the POC assays and ensuring adherence before implementation of POC monitoring. This is crucial for the tailoring of anticoagulation therapy, potentially reducing overall healthcare costs and improving patient health outcomes
Cultural authenticity and purchase intention of Chinese luxury brand logo
Chinese domestic luxury brands (CDLBs) increase in both sales and attention in academic research, due to rise of inconspicuousness consumption. However, there is little research on how cultural authenticity in logo influences on purchase intention of CDLBs. Based on signaling theory and
power distance belief, this paper investigates this research gap by taking the cultural authenticity as signalling, inconspicuousness and brand trust as evaluation, and purchase intention as outcome. The study also examines the
mediating effect of power distance belief between the inconspicuousness and purchase intention. Across three experiments, the researchers collected survey data from 210 individuals who lived in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou,
Shenzhen and Hangzhou, which are the cities which are ranked as highest luxury consumption cities in China. According to the findings of the study, the impact of cultural authenticity in logo on purchase intention is significant, and this impact is observed both directly and indirectly through the effects of inconspicuousness and brand trust. This study's results offer valuable information on methods to enhance customers' perception of cultural authenticity and increase their intention to purchase for CDLBs
Performance Evaluation of High-Quality Farmer Training – Survey Data of Farmers’ Training in Jiangxi Province, China
This study aims to identify and evaluate key performance indicators of high-quality farmer training by employing the Analytic Hierarchy Process and factor analysis. This is crucial to serve as a reference for effective resource allocation for the training programs by the government. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews with the experts and an online questionnaire survey with participating farmers in the training. The analysis revealed five primary factors influencing the effectiveness of high-quality farmer training: training intention, overall satisfaction, professional quality, economic benefit, and social benefit. Social benefit emerged as the most significant indicator, while overall satisfaction was the least influential factor. The study comes to the conclusion that judging the effectiveness of good farmer training should include both short-term and long-term benefits. This fills in a gap in the research that has been caused by evaluating training based on quantity rather than quality. The study's results suggest that training programs should use a multi-level index system that balances short-term and long-term benefits. This would help fix the problem with the current way of judging the effectiveness of training, which is that it isn't very thorough and can lead to evaluation subjects being put in the wrong place. By emphasizing social impact and delayed benefits, training institutions can enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of their programs, ultimately leading to more sustainable agricultural development
DA+BMAC : Distance-Aware Bidirectional Medium Access Control for Mesh Wireless Network-on-Chip
Medium access control (MAC) protocol and routing strategy significantly influence Wireless Network-on-Chip (WiNoC) performance and energy characteristics. Conventional WiNoC MAC typically utilizes a daisy-chained ring topology, which limits wireless channel performance due to maximum waiting
times when a radio hub misses the token before packet arrival. Additionally, due to limited wireless channel bandwidth compared to aggregate wired interconnect capacity, radio hubs become susceptible to congestion when multiple processing cores simultaneously request wireless access. The lack of intelligent traffic control leads to indiscriminate wireless transmission even when efficient wired paths are available. This paper proposes DA+BMAC, a Distance-Aware (DA) Bidirectional Medium Access Control (BMAC) scheme for mesh WiNoC architecture. BMAC employs bidirectional links allowing token reversal when it overshoots an idle radio hub, reducing worst-case token wait time. DA+BMAC implements distance-aware routing to reserve single-hop wireless transmission exclusively for source-destination pairs beyond a specific distance threshold, while dedicating wired interconnects with higher aggregate bandwidth to short-range
communication. Comprehensive validation using a cycle-accurate Noxim simulator on an 8 × 8 mesh with 16 radio hubs demonstrates up to 11.49× throughput improvement and 15% energy savings compared to a baseline token-ring WiNoC. Scalability analysis confirms performance benefits extend to larger networks (256 and 1024 cores), making DA+BMAC suitable for future many-core systems. The proposed approach
has been validated using both synthetic traffic distributions (random, shuffle, transpose, and hotspot)
and real-application traces (Barnes and Fluidanimate) from PARSEC and SPLASH-2 benchmark suites, confirming its effectiveness across diverse workloads
Health risk and groundwater contamination by the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in wells and boreholes around the Okinni Osogbo service station, Osun State, Nigeria
This study investigated the levels and potential toxicity of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in underground water near a gas station within the Okinni locality, Osun State, Nigeria. Water samples from six locations were analysed with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Lowmolecular-weight PAHs, naphthalene, acenaphthene and acenaphthylene were undetected. However, 3-ring PAHs (fluorene, phenanthrene
and anthracene) were found across most sites, exceedingthe maximum contamination level of 0.0002 mg/mL set by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the World Health Organization (0-0.005 mg/mL). High molecular weight PAHs also surpassed the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment’s water quality guideline threshold (1.5 � 10−5 – 5.8 � 10−3 mg/mL). The health risk revealed average toxicity values ranging from 2.6 � 10−4 to 1.8 � 10−3 for adults and 6.06 � 10−4 to 4.18 � 10−3 for children, indicating potential carcinogenic health risks. Given that the values exceeded acceptable limits (1.0� 10-6). There is an urgent need for attention from relevant authorities
to protect public health. The risks would be largely subject to ingestion frequency, duration, and individual vulnerability, emphasizing the need for prompt action to safeguard the health of the populace. The findings
suggest a possible unacceptable health risk from exposure to PAHs
ESG and Internal Control Weaknesses – A Case Study of an Islamic Cooperative Body
The purpose of this study is to examine what are some of the weaknesses in a cooperative body administration, that may related to Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) activities. A case study approach was selected
for this study by selecting one Islamic cooperative body in Malaysia as a study case. This study found that the
selected cooperative has many weaknesses in their internal control procedures. Many errors in recording financial data lead to the fraud opportunity while manual recording of daily transaction contributes to recurring
human errors. This indicate that this cooperative body yet to fully exercising ESG framework, particularly the
governance pillar of the framework. This study however limited to only one organization and thus, its findings
need to be generalised with precautions

trends in AI-driven stock market research? Which authors, institutions, and countries lead in this domain? What are the most cited studies,
and how do they influence the field? By using tools like VOSviewer, this study examines keyword co-occurrences, citation networks, and
publication trends. The findings reveal a rapid shift towards hybrid models, leveraging AI techniques like machine learning and deep learning,
coupled with sentiment analysis and real-time adaptive systems. While challenges such as data quality and ethical considerations persist,
the study underscores AI’s transformative potential, highlighting the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative approaches to
address these challenges
