Effects of anti-rainbow trout germ-cell monoclonal antibody on germ cells and gonadal tissues in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
The development of sterilization technology is important to improve the production efficacy of aquaculture and prevent genetically modified fish from escaping. Immunosterilization is a novel sterilization method that has already been used in mammals. In this study, anti-rainbow trout germ-cell monoclonal antibodies (anti-GC mAbs) were injected into immature rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss, and their effects were analyzed. First, anti-GC mAbs labeled with Alexa Fluor 488 were injected into the body cavity of larvae 20 days (group 1) and 102 days (group 2) after fertilization. Second, anti-GC mAbs were injected into the body cavity of yearling trout (group 3), and their impacts on gonadal tissue were analyzed in terms of histology and gene expression levels. As a result, anti-GC mAbs were observed to bind to some primordial GCs in group 1, whereas there were no obvious positive cells in male testes of group 2. In contrast, green fluorescent signals were observed in an arrangement parallel to the ovarian lamina in female ovaries of group 2, which was similar to the arrangement of positive signals on ovarian tissue sections immunostained with anti-GC mAbs. GCs in group 1 were observed again after 76 days, and double-positive cells remained. In group 3, there were changes in the expression levels of GC-specific genes, but the changes were not seen as biologically meaningful. Moreover, there was no histological abnormality in gonadal tissues after immunization. In conclusion, these results suggested that anti-GC mAbs could only reach GCs in early developmental stages or in the ovary, and injection of anti-GCs mAbs did not have harmful effects on GCs after binding

Amphibian fauna of Bahrain
The Kingdom of Bahrain is an insular nation, lying between latitudes 25.6° and 26.3° N and longitudes 50.3° and 50.8° E, and is the third smallest country in Asia, covering a land area of 780 km2 (including 115 km2 in reclaimed land in the form of artificial islands). A single species of amphibian has been recorded- the Marsh Frog, Pelophylax ridibundus. The species is widespread from much of Western and Central Europe to trans-Ural Russia and south to Afghanistan and parts of Iran. Scattered areas in Saudi Arabia represent the southernmost extent of the species and include the nearest mainland locality to Bahrain at a distance of approximately 25 km
Teaching and learning with instructional humor: a review of five-decades research and further direction
The discussion about how to use instructional humor in class to promote teaching and learning efficiency has always been a concern of researchers in recent decades. The present project summarizes extant studies on instructional humor and provides a detailed review of research findings. First, the definition and classification of instructional humor are overviewed. Then, the study introduces three theoretical
frameworks, namely Instructional Humor Processing Theory (IHPT) and other two alternative models, which, respectively, based on Self-Determination Theory
(SDT) or from an integrative perspective of cognition and affection, explaining how humor works in education settings. Based on the theoretical clarification of instructional humor, the paper further reviews existing empirical evidence regarding teachers’ use of humor in class and its impact on students’ learning, with emphasis on explaining inconsistencies in previous conclusions and identifying limitations in extant relevant works. The detailed analysis and comparison of previous results regarding instructional humor offer potential directions for further relevant research. Finally, the study concludes with feasible advice for teachers to maximize the positive benefits of humor in class
The impact of ESG and the institutional environment on investment efficiency in China through the mediators of agency costs and financial constraints
This study examines the impact of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance on corporate investment efficiency in China, focusing on underexplored dynamics in emerging markets. Using data from 3380 non-financial Chinese firms (2010–2021) and a fixed-effects panel regression model, we explore how ESG influences investment efficiency through the mediating roles of agency costs and financial constraints. Findings reveal that high ESG performance reduces agency costs and eases financial constraints, enhancing investment efficiency. Additionally, we assess the moderating effect of China's institutional environment, characterized by four indicators: marketization, financial development, government intervention, and regulatory quality. Results show that ESG's positive impact on investment efficiency is stronger in regions with more robust institutional frameworks. This study underscores the importance of adapting ESG strategies to varied institutional contexts, offering valuable insights for policymakers and corporate leaders seeking to promote sustainable growth across diverse regions
Impact of Industrial Agglomeration on the Upgrading of China’s Automobile Industry : The Threshold Effect of Human Capital and Moderating Effect of Government
This study investigates the impact of industrial agglomeration on the upgrading of China’s automobile industry (UCAI) using panel data from 28 Chinese provinces spanning 2000 to 2020. The automobile industry is vital to China’s manufacturing and service sectors, with its upgrading capable of driving national economic growth and contributing to sustainable development goals. We employ the Malmquist productivity index based on the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, implemented through DEAP 2.1 software, to assess the UCAI. System Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) analysis, conducted using Stata 17 software, was used to examine the impact of industrial agglomeration on this process, while also exploring the threshold effect of human capital and the moderating effect of government. The results indicate that industrial agglomeration significantly enhances the upgrading of the automobile industry; however, human capital acts as a critical
threshold. Below this threshold, agglomeration does not have a significant impact on the upgrading of the automobile industry, while exceeding it allows for significant positive
effects. Additionally, government has a moderating effect in facilitating this process by implementing policies that support innovation and sustainable practices. Based on these
findings, this paper presents several policy implications aimed at further promoting the UCAI and advancing sustainable development in the sector

Flipped Classroom and Task-Based Learning Approach Teaching Strategies in Engineering Students Focusing in Electromagnetic Theory Course
Nowadays, conventional teaching methods are gradually evolving into innovative teaching and learning techniques to enhance student engagement and understanding in the classroom/ during lecture. The choice of teaching strategies depends on the course requirements and the lecturer’s approach. In Engineering courses, Electromagnetic Theory(EMT)is widely known as a challenging subject that requires a strong foundation in calculus and algebra. This course is the core course for second-year undergraduates in the Electronic and Electrical Engineering program in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak(UNIMAS). Every semester, EMT poses significant difficulties for students with weak mathematical backgrounds, often leading to low grades or course failures. The course assessment is structured as: 20% for assignments, 30% for tests, and 50% for the final exam. To address the high failure rate, the flipped classroom approach and task-based learning wereintroduced and implemented. This method reverses the conventionalteaching model by providing students with instructional materials—such as pre-recorded lectures, reading assignments, and interactive modules—before attending class. The e-Learning Enrichment and Advancement Platform (eLEAP) is used to serve as the primary learning management system, delivering course materials to students in preparation for in-class activities. This approach fosters active learning and encourages students to take greater responsibility for this class. This research was conducted over three different semesters: 2019/2020 (conventional teaching), 2021/2022(first implementation), and 2023/2024(second implementation), with student enrolments of 94, 110, and 78, respectively. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ passing rate, increasing from 76.6% to 96.4%, along with a notable rise in the percentage of students achieving grade A, from 8.51% to 30.00%. A comprehensive analysis of the assessment results was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach
Antioxidant capacities and in vitro anti-microbial activities of rice (Oryza sativa var Bajong) from Borneo
Rice contains antioxidants and phenolic components that exert anti-infammatory and anticancer properties. Different geographical areas produce rice with various chemical constituents and phytochemicals, in turn these confer
diferential protective efects including antimicrobial and anticancer properties. Sarawak rice, Oryza sativa var Bajong
(Bajong), a fragrant dark purple rice grain harvested from two locations in Sarawak, namely interior Lubok Nibong
(LN) and coastal Sri Aman (SA), was assessed for their antioxidant properties and antimicrobial activities. The rice
was extracted using methanol solvent and evaluated for total phenolic content (TPC), total favonoid contents (TFC),
as well as their antioxidant and antimicrobial activities based on the Folin–Ciocalteu assay, the aluminium calorimetric
method, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity and disk difusion assay, respectively.
Using dual-wavelength measurement, Bajong LN showed 2.16% higher amylose content than Bajong SA. Furthermore, 24-h extract of Bajong LN and 48-h extract of Bajong SA exhibited high antioxidant properties (34–70 µg/mL)
and were rich in phenolic (46.54±2.62 mg GAE/g; 25.28±3.91 mg GAE/g) and favonoid contents (5.53±0.36 mg
QCE/g; 7.7±2.19 mg QCE/g) respectively. It is interesting to note that 72-h Bajong extract exhibited the largest zone
of inhibition (9–9.3 mm) against Gram-negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Ps. aeruginosa), which correlated to the high
TPC and TFC despite a reduction of antioxidant activity due to prolonged extraction hours. These signifcant results
conferred added value to a staple, health-promoting Bajong had warranted it to be further investigated as a nutraceutical and pharmaceutical crop
Four Ps of Creativity and Behavioural Intentions in Creative Tourism: The Mediating Role of Experience Quality
Purpose: This study explores how the dimensions of creativity—specifically person, process, product, and press—affect tourists’ behavioural intentions. Additionally, this study examines how experience quality mediates these relationships.
Methodology/Design/Approach: This study used a survey instrument to gather data from 500 creative tourists in Malaysia. To test the structural model, Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed.
Findings: The result highlights the influence of the four Ps of creativity on the behavioural intentions of tourists within the creative tourism sector.
