Can Adolescent Girls' Self-esteem be Linked to Body Representation in Physical Educaiton?: A Synthesis Project
The purpose of this synthesis project is to review the literature on the impact of body representation in physical education on adolescent girls’ self-esteem. To guide the purpose of this project the following questions are used (a) adolescent girls who express low self-esteem due to body representation within physical education (b) Articles that were peer reviewed, full-text and published within the last 10 year. Also found was that when adolescent girls participate in fitness and body positivity focused activities, their self-esteem improves along with their body image.Cathey Houston-Wilso
