Il framework TPACK nello sviluppo professionale delle competenze digitali dei docenti: un percorso di Faculty Development
L’introduzione progressiva delle tecnologie nella pratica didattica impegna i docenti a rivedere i propri schemi impliciti e le routine operative che sono peculiari di ogni professione. Per utilizzare le tecnologie digitali sono necessarie competenze progettuali che permettano ai docenti di ripensare le proprie conoscenze disciplinari alla luce sia delle nuove prospettive pedagogico-didattiche sia delle risorse tecnologiche disponibili nel contesto di vita degli studenti. Nella prospettiva del docente come designer in grado di adottare procedure complesse di progettazione integrata (Laurillard, 2014), risulta generativo indagare il framework TPACK (Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge) come uno dei quadri interpretativi possibili del rapporto tra didattica, comunicazione e tecnologia. Esso che si focalizza sulla progettazione degli ambienti di apprendimento, la relazione tra saperi (disciplinari, didattici, tecnologici) e il rapporto tra insegnamento e apprendimento visto dal punto di vista degli studenti e dei docenti (Koehler, Mishra & Cain, 2013). L’approccio integrato secondo il framework TPACK favorisce un ragionamento sulla progettazione che tenta di allineare tutti gli elementi che convergono nella attività didattica, quelli tradizionali (finalità, obiettivi, attività, valutazione) e le componenti che spesso sono implicite, come l’approccio metodologico e le tecnologie digitali (De Rossi, 2018). Su queste basi è stato elaborato e sperimentato un percorso formativo per docenti universitari già in servizio presso l’Istituto Universitario Salesiano di Venezia (IUSVE), in grado di consentire loro di ripensare le proprie conoscenze disciplinari alla luce delle nuove prospettive didattiche aperte dall’avvento delle tecnologie digitali. Tale percorso è stato progettato secondo l’approccio del Faculty Learning Community che prevede la creazione di una comunità di apprendimento tra i docenti coinvolti per condividere una cultura di miglioramento delle pratiche didattiche all’interno del contesto professionale universitario (Cox, 2004). Nella formazione il framework TPACK è stato utilizzato come strumento di autovalutazione dai docenti per misurare le proprie competenze in base ai domini di conoscenza del quadro TPACK (Fayda-Kinik, 2022)

Impact of Coastal Walking Outdoors and Virtual Reality Indoor Walking on Heart Rate, Enjoyment Levels and Mindfulness Experiences in Healthy Adults
Outdoor exercise is beneficial for psychophysical well-being. Limited studies have compared
outdoor and virtual reality (VR) indoor physical activities, especially in coastal settings.
Therefore, this study aimed to assess the impact of outdoor coastal walking and indoor walking in
a VR simulation with a similar environment on physiological and psychological variables in healthy
adults. A total of 26 subjects (14 M and 12 F, age 25.2 ± 2.5 years) voluntarily participated in this
crossover randomized controlled and counterbalanced study and were allocated under three conditions:
VR indoor walking (INVR), outdoor walking (OUT) and standard indoor walking (IN). IN
and INVR conditions were performed on a treadmill (speed 4.5 km/h) and the OUT was performed
on a seaside pedestrian road. The same outdoor environment was displayed in the visor during the
INVR. Heart rate (HRmean/max), physical activity enjoyment (PACES-It) and state of mindfulness for
physical activity (SMS-PA) were assessed at the end of each condition. The OUT condition showed
significantly greater PACES-It scores and HRmean than IN and INVR (p < 0.001) and greater SMS-PA
scores and HRmax than IN (p < 0.01 and p < 0.05, respectively). No significant differences were found
between OUT and INVR regarding HRmax and SMS-PA scores (p > 0.05). Findings suggest that physical
activity in an immersive technology may lead to physiological loads comparable to the outdoor
environment. OUT is more enjoyable than IN and INVR but exhibits a mindfulness response comparable
to INVR. Therefore, INVR could be an alternative to OUT for those who cannot engage in
outdoor activities for various reasons
A focus on exercise prescription and assessment for a safe return to sport participation following a patellar tendon reconstruction in a soccer player
Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyse a 6-month kinesiological intervention after patellar tendon reconstruction.
The kinetics, kinematics, and neuromuscular differences between operated (OL) and non-operated limbs (N-OL) were
examined over time in a soccer player.
Methods: The assessment took place at three months (T0) and nine months (T1) after the reconstruction. This comprised
an assessment of the range of motion (ROM), gait analysis through angle-angle diagrams, postural control, neuromuscular
assessment during whole-body vibration (WBV), and unilateral-bilateral maximal voluntary isometric contractions (MVICs)
synchronised with surface electromyography (sEMG).
Results: The angle-angle diagrams at T1 show that the area and perimeter of the N-OL and OL diagrams increased, especially
the area and perimeter of the knee-ankle diagram in OL. Furthermore, the postural control at T1 indicated an increase in
different conditions. The root mean square (RMS) of sEMGRMS obtained during WBV revealed a significant alteration in the
neuromuscular patterns in the OL at T1. The increase in the vastus lateralis (VL) and lateral gastrocnemius (LG) activities
was accompanied by a decrease in the biceps femoris (BF) and tibialis anterior (TA). The peak of force and the rate of
force development during MVICs showed a slight difference between OL and N-OL at T1. Furthermore, sEMGRMS activity
synchronised with MVICs showed a slight difference between the OL and N-OL in the extensors (VL, VM, and RF) and flexors
(BF) muscles at T1.
Conclusions: The kinetic, kinematic, and neuromuscular variables have shown improvements at T1 compared to T0.
Anyway, a 6-month individualised kinesiological intervention, following a patellar tendon reconstruction, reveals that minor
alterations in the neuromuscular pattern remain in the OL. These results help kinesiologists manage the functional recovery
after patellar tendon reconstruction
Optimizing retro-reflective surfaces to untrap radiation and cool cities
Extreme heat and its various impacts are a growing threat to cities and their residents, and it is increasingly clear that portfolios of solutions are needed to mitigate the resulting risks. Here we comprehensively evaluate and optimize the application of existing retro-reflective (RR) materials, which reflect incoming solar radiation back to the sky, on urban surfaces to cool them. Using detailed energy budget models, we show that RR walls and pavements decrease urban canyon surface temperatures by up to 20 °C and canyon air temperatures by up to 2.6 °C, outperforming highly reflective surfaces, with a notable improvement in pedestrian thermal comfort (up to 0.55 °C and 153 W m−2 reductions in human skin temperature and net radiative gain, respectively). We then develop optimized RR design guidelines for diverse climatic conditions, latitudes, seasons and urban geometries. On the basis of our analysis, we recommend RR pavements for open, low-rise areas and propose specific RR wall design strategies for compact, high-rise areas

The Application of Circular Economy Principles Through Re-design, Scraps De-manufacturing, and Value Chains Merge
Nowaday the industrial interest, as well as the academic one, on the development and implementation of circular approaches is growing. In parallel, the use of composite materials steeply increased in the last decades which are hardly disposable. The present work proposes an eco-design method that guides the reuse and remanufacturing of scraps. The core is the re-design of processes that introduce materials derived from scraps from other value chains. Two cases are investigated: the first concerns the production of panels for the wind sector. Using scraps from the wind blades’ trimming almost eliminates the emissions derived from the panel production. Also, the material of a component of an espresso coffee machine has been replaced by scraps from kitchen sinks; this process requires resources only for shredding. The case study allows to highlight also the importance of sharing information and networking among the actors of the supply chains and the relative distance of cooperating organizations
The impact of innovation failure: Entrepreneurship adversity or opportunity?
Innovation is key to the economic performance of firms. However, several types of risks and uncertainties often lead to high failure rates in innovation projects, to the extent that failure is now considered a typical step in an innovation process. If innovation failure was provoking stress in the past, the current socio-economic contexts makes if it something to regularly deal with and learning from. However, there still is a dilemma on whether innovation failure should be considered as an opportunity or a trauma for the firm. Exploring the three steps of an innovation failure, that is identifying, analyzing and experimenting, the present research offers new insights on the nature of innovation failure at an individual and team levels. In particular, via an inductive approach this study provides fours key approaches to understanding innovation failure. First, we have uncovered a wide range of approaches to organizational management and ‘Spaghetti’ organizational models of innovation that perceive failure as an opportunity for the innovation process. Secondly, our study identified what seems to be a widespread perception of innovation failure as a trauma, which encourages the culture of openness to failure and to share knowledge of failing innovations. Such views apply not only at organizational but also at individual and team levels. Third, our results serve to encourage individuals, teams and organizations to find new ways to learn from failures in innovation projects, and to have a less centralized management and control over innovation. Fourth, in our perception of the domain, failure could become the ‘new normal’ and a mean to generate new knowledge. This stimulates new directions in the decision-making process, towards novel pathways to innovation
