Lithium-ion battery impedance as a battery temperature indicator
In this study, we propose and evaluate the performance of an impedance-based model for battery temperature
estimation. We used four different datasets including Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) experiments
measured at different conditions, including variations in technology, temperatures, State-of-Charge (SoC)
and State-of-Health (SoH). One of the datasets collects new EIS data coming from new experimental tests. By
means of a correlation analysis, we select the reactance of the impedance in the frequency range from 100 to
1000 Hz as the most suitable temperature indicator. Then, we evaluate the temperature estimation performance
of some linear and exponential models with a cross-validation approach, using the reactance measured at a
single frequency point considering also the effects of SoC and SoH. A further contribution of this manuscript is
the presentation of a dataset including EIS experiments under multiple temperature and SoC conditions, that
was acquired in our laboratories and published online for the scientific community. In this paper, we provide

Risk-averse strategic participation of prosumers coalition in local community markets
Local energy communities emerge as a valuable framework to optimally leverage local assets installed by prosumers. In this context, local markets launched within communities may boost the active participation of end-users, paving the way to improve the economy and energy efficiency of distribution systems. This paper proposes a new model for strategic participation of prosumers in local markets. The new proposal contributes with two main novelties. Firstly, the model considers the participation of prosumers coalition rather than individual participation. Secondly, a risk-averse resolution mechanism is developed, considering different uncertainty modelling for community and coalition-level uncertainties. Thus, whereas stochastic programming is considered for community-level uncertainties, robust optimization leverages better estimation of the coalition-level uncertainties. The optimization model casts as bi-level framework, which is further converted into a tractable single-level model. Some simulations are presented on a benchmark 15-bus community, involving eight prosumers, with three of them forming a coalition. Results show that coalition-level uncertainties impact further the economy of the coalition, incrementing the expected expenditures by 31 % versus 3.1 %. Moreover, the importance of flexibility provided by storage systems and controllable appliances is illustrated and discussed. In particular, neglecting storage capability increments expenditures by 30 % while flexible appliances contribute to reduce the coalition cost by 8.7 %. Further sensitivity analyses are performed regarding local demand and photovoltaic generation, as well as confidence interval and coalition sizes, showing that the developed approach performs well in a wide variety of scenarios

n-type GaSe thin flake for optoelectronic devices
Herein, we present the results obtained with a field effect transistor fabricated using a thin gallium selenide (GaSe) flake as the channel. The fabricated
device exhibits n-type conduction behaviour and shows a photo response under illumination by a laser. Notably, the device exhibits memory behaviour maintaining stability for more than 4 hours with repeatable cycles and sensitivity to light stimuli.
This confirms its potential as a non-volatile optoelectronic memory, offering an enhanced programming window under laser illumination. The results provide a fundamental understanding of n-type conduction of GaSe thin flake and demonstrate that the investigated material could be suitable for future optoelectronic devices

Attributes of Digital Sovereignty: A Conceptual Framework
This paper explores digital sovereignty as a pivotal element of contemporary politics. Drawing upon a constructivist perspective, it proposes a conceptual framework for studying the policy discourse on digital sovereignty. The framework is structured around five core attributes – adversariality, multiversity, latency, instrumentality, and hypocrisy – that characterise sovereignty claims in the digital sphere. These attributes serve as analytical categories to understand digital sovereignty as a discursive resource employed in political struggles over the control of digital networks. Digital sovereignty emerges as a contested concept, central to competition among nation-states, regional blocs, corporate entities, epistemic communities and social groups. The study highlights the contradictory and often fragmented nature of digital sovereignty claims, revealing how they intersect with broader geopolitical ambitions and challenges. By situating digital sovereignty within global power rivalries and historically-determined social relations, this analysis develops a critical understanding of digital sovereignty, which embraces its inherently contested and evolving nature
1-(4-Aminophenoxy)-3-(alkyl)propane-2-ols as Building Blocks for the Preparation of Membranogenic Compounds
This study explores the potential use of 1-(4-aminophenoxy)-3-(alkyl)propane-2-ol (anilines, 4) as building blocks for the preparation of membranogenic compounds. Anilines were synthesized via linear and convergent methods with good to high yields (39%-99%). Key intermediates, 1-(alkyloxy)-3-(4-nitrophenoxy)propan-2-ols (3), were obtained by reacting 2-(alkoxymethyl)oxirane (2) or 2-((4-nitrophenoxy)methyl)oxirane (7) with p-nitrophenol or an alcohol, respectively. Three reduction methods were employed to achieve the final anilines. Following chain-length screening, octyl and geranyl derivatives were selected to prepare lyso-phospholipid ether analogues. These compounds were then evaluated for their self-assembly properties in forming giant unilamellar vesicles using either phase transfer or electro-formation methodology
