The tutor-student relationship in teacher identity formation. Research perspective

    No full text
This paper examines the role of practicum and tutoring in the initial training of teachers, with particular attention to the development of professional identity and the mediation between theoretical knowledge and educational practice. By comparing the models adopted at Roma Tre University and the University of Malaga, the article highlights the centrality of the tutor–student relationship as a pedagogical and reflective device capable of supporting the development of didactic, design, and relational competences. In the Italian context, the practicum is progressively structured and regulated by national legislation, characterized by a dual system of academic and school tutoring, with a specific focus on the inclusion of students with disabilities and specific learning disorders. In the Spanish model, the practicum is conceived as an experiential and reflective space, grounded in the pedagogy of experience and in the dialogical construction of meaning. Both approaches demonstrate that the practicum, far from being a merely applicative exercise, constitutes a privileged locus for the construction of teacher identity and for the critical elaboration of one’s educational practice. Furthermore, the paper presents an ongoing qualitative study aimed at exploring students’ perceptions and expectations concerning their practicum and the relationship with tutors, with the purpose of investigating the dynamics through which professional awareness is developed and an inclusive and reflective teacher identity is buil

Cassida piperata Hope, 1843 (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae), a non-native beetle, new to Italy and Europe

    No full text
Maintaining sustained vigilance over the introduction and spread of non-native species is of critical importance. Cassida piperata, a leaf beetle native to the East Palaearctic and Indomalayan Regions, has been repeatedly recorded in northern Italy since 2021, where it appears to be established as a non-native species new to Europe. Its local occurrence is discussed, based on records obtained by the authors and from citizen-science web platforms and its potential for further spread in Europe is evaluated through bioclimatic modelling

“Las sueltas antiguas en la historia de la transmisión textual de El alcaide de sí mismo”

    No full text

Prosocial behavior and school performance in the transition to adolescence: A multicultural study

    No full text
The present study explored the bidirectional longitudinal associations between prosocial behavior and school performance during adolescence in six countries (Colombia, Italy, Jordan, the Philippines, Thailand, and the United States). A total sample of 884 adolescents (T1: Mage 1⁄4 10.34 years, SD1⁄40.69) reported their prosocial behavior, while adolescents’ mothers (N1⁄4871) and fathers (N1⁄4773) reported their children’s school performance over three-time points covering the transition to adolescence (from ages 10 to 16). A Random- Intercept Cross-Lagged Panel Model, controlling for countries’ Human Development Index, child gender, and family SES, showed that adolescents with high levels of prosocial behavior also have high school performance on a stable basis over time. Moreover, being more prosocial than usual is positively associated with higher-than-expected school performance at each time point. The implications of the interplay between prosocial behavior and school performance during the transition to adolescence in multicultural contexts are discussed
