The Mediterranean Diet as a Model of Sustainability: Evidence-Based Insights into Health, Environment, and Culture
The Mediterranean Diet (MD) is globally recognized not only for its well-established
benefits to human health but also for its potential as a sustainable dietary model from
environmental perspectives. Primarily based on plant-based foods, olive oil, fish, and
seasonal and local products, the MD stands out for its ability to reduce overall mortality
and the incidence of chronic diseases. At the same time, it is a low environmental impact
dietary approach, contributing to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, water savings,
biodiversity conservation, and soil regeneration. This narrative review was conducted by
searching the Scopus and PubMed databases, covering all publications up to 2011, applying
predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, and ultimately including 33 studies. The paper
provides a synthesis of the key elements that make the MD a paradigm of sustainability,
analyzing critical indicators such as carbon, water, and energy footprints, land use, food
waste generation, and carbon sequestration. It also addresses the decline in adherence
to the MD, even in Mediterranean countries, highlighting the socio-economic, cultural,
and behavioral causes, as well as the necessary strategies to promote its rediscovery and
adaptation to contemporary contexts

Board’s interpersonal diversity and financial misreporting: evidence from USA
This study delves into the correlation between board interpersonal diversity and financial misreporting. The measure of interpersonal diversity draws from the ‘Out of Africa’
hypothesis, which examines how ancestral evolution has shaped individual traits such as
cognitive skills, abilities, and levels of interpersonal trust. Extensive literature highlights
how diversity in cognitive skills and interpersonal trust enhances board performance and
monitoring mechanisms among members. Applying the ‘Too-Much-of-a-Good-Thing’
effect theory, we examine how the interpersonal diversity of board members in US firms
from 1999 to 2019 mitigates agency problems and financial misreporting, particularly
earnings management. Our primary finding suggests that higher board interpersonal diversity correlates with lower levels of accrual-based earnings management and real earnings
management. We utilize various measures of earnings management and employ strategies to ensure the validity of our findings. These results hold strong across different tests
and significantly contribute to the literature and future policy discussions regarding board
diversity in companies

Robust Statistical and Wavelet-Based Time–Frequency Analysis of Static PPP-RTK Errors Using Low-Cost GNSS Correction Services
This study investigates the horizontal positioning accuracy of a low-cost, multi-frequency GNSS receiver operating in static mode using a newly released PPP-RTK correction service delivering localized corrections. To the authors' knowledge, this represents one of the first performance evaluations of this service, which optimizes correction data based on the approximate receiver location. The results are compared against those from the previous version of the service, which provided non-localized corrections. Analyses were conducted in both the time and frequency domains, employing robust statistical tools to characterize error behavior. The localized service achieved a mean horizontal error of approximately 0.020 m and a 95% Circular Error Probable (CEP95) of 0.046 m, in line with its declared performance. By contrast, the earlier non-localized service yielded a mean horizontal error of approximately 0.074 m and a CEP95 of 0.124 m under comparable static conditions, confirming the significant improvement achieved by localized corrections. Spectral and wavelet analyses revealed a dominant 33 mHz harmonic in the positioning error, corresponding to the 30 s update period of atmospheric corrections, indicating a periodic influence arising from the correction stream. Continuous wavelet analysis further identified intervals in which this harmonic was absent, during which positioning accuracy improved markedly (CEP95 reduced to 0.019 m). To properly address the non-Gaussian nature of the error distribution, bias-corrected and accelerated (BCa) bootstrap methods were applied to estimate confidence intervals. Overall, the results demonstrate the benefits of localized corrections, while emphasizing the importance of accounting for the temporal structure of correction data in PPP-RTK performance assessments. Future developments will focus on kinematic scenarios and adaptive filtering strategies to mitigate periodic errors induced by correction updates
