No full textChemical reaction networks (CRNs) serve as powerful frameworks for designing robust synthetic biological feedback control circuits. Recently, we identified a two-state motif that employs ultrasensitive feedback regulation to maintain a homeostatic equilibrium, inherently robust to environmental fluctuations. In this work, we construct a CRN that embeds the proposed two-state motif through cooperative reactions and demonstrate that increasing the level of cooperation enhances adaptive homeostasis, ensuring robustness against system uncertainties and external disturbances

No full textI milioni di clienti con i quali si interfacciano gli istituti di credito rendono tale categoria di aziende estremamente importante ai fini degli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile fissati in sede internazionale. Gli intermediari finanziari, infatti, possono agire dal versante dell’offerta domandando certificazioni di sostenibilità alle imprese richiedenti il credito, ma anche rendersi direttamente promotrici di investimenti coerenti con le esigenze della sostenibilità.
In ragione di questa importanza, il presente contributo valuta le performance Environment, Sociale and Governance delle banche nazionali quotate in borsa. A tale scopo si effettua un’analisi dei report prodotti da tali istituzioni in adesione alla normativa introdotta dal DL 254/2016 sulla Dichiarazione di carattere non finanziario, al fine di valutarne la qualità della disclosure. La peculiarità dello studio è esaminare tali prestazioni nell’ottica della reportistica integrata, ritenuta lo sviluppo più recente di una lunga serie di proposte che hanno tentato di riformare la contabilità finanziaria e le relazioni societarie.
Le evidenze empiriche mostrano che gli intermediari creditizi presentano un valido livello qualitativo di non-financial disclosure, sebbene non siano ancora stati raggiunti tutti gli obiettivi fissati dai promotori della reportistica integrata che prevede dei rapporti snelli, facilmente accessibili ad una vasta platea di stakeholders e agevolmente comprabili nel tempo e nello spazio. Inoltre, sebbene la attuale reportistica mostri in modo alquanto evidente la capacità delle banche di generare valore a beneficio dell’intera collettività, è ancora poco marcato il collegamento tra i risultati economici e le prestazioni di sostenibilita
The role of climate risk in shaping longevity dynamics: Extending stochastic mortality models
No full textThis paper investigates the impact of climate risk on mortality dynamics across different populations. We introduce extensions of the Lee-Carter model that integrate climate risk data, specifically Annual Temperature Anomalies levels, to improve mortality projections. A three-stage calibration strategy, based on the Ordinary Least Squares estimator, is proposed to estimate the model parameters. Numerical experiments, conducted on a sample of 42 populations, demonstrate that incorporating climate risk information enhances forecasting accuracy. Additionally, further improvements in forecasting performance are observed when climate data is combined with economic indicators such as GDP
Narratives of the Italian Diaspora From The Comino Valley To Scotland: Voices of Self-Identity and Belonging
No full textAmong the migrants of Italian origins settled in the United Kingdom from the 19th century onwards, the community native from the Comino Valley in Southern Lazio has produced a significant number of narratives on their ancestors, their ties with the home country, and issues of transnational identity. This research aims to analyse how migrants from the Comino Valley to Scotland have represented themselves and have recounted their diasporic experience through narrative writing. Specifically, it focuses on a corpus of memoires and autobiographies of three Italian Scottish writers from the valley : Eugenio D’Agostino (1938), Mary Contini (2002), and Anne Pia (2017). Through a corpus-driven approach, lexico-grammatical patterns are investigated to identify the discourses Italian Scottish migrants from the Comino Valley created in their narratives. This work intends to contribute to a more linguistic strand of Anglo-Italian Studies interested in the narrative analysis of migrant discourse, as well as to provide solid foundation for the (re-)discovery and dissemination of the Italian British intercultural heritage
Il significato della coesione alla luce delle crisi sistemiche
No full textIl lavoro affronta il tema della coesione partendo da un’analisi dell’evoluzione
della policy e concentrandosi, poi, sugli effetti che le crisi sistemiche hanno avuto
sulle progressive riforme della stessa. Particolare attenzione è posta alla crisi finanziaria,
che ha imposto una logica di austerity, alla pandemia, che ha fatto emergere
l’importanza dell’efficacia delle performance, e ai recenti conflitti armati, che
hanno evidenziato la necessità di rafforzare, anche attraverso i fondi strutturali, la
sicurezza e la resilienza. In conclusione, il lavoro evidenzia che, affinché la coesione
acquisisca una portata “costituzionale”, è necessario che si affermi un modello di
federalismo fiscale multilivello, in cui anche i sistemi nazionali, in particolare quello
italiano, si orientino ad obiettivi di solidarietà.The paper focuses on the issue of cohesion, analysing the policy evolution and
investigating the effects of systemic crises on its reforms. Particular attention is
given to the financial crisis, which imposed austerity measures, to the pandemic,
which highlighted the importance of effective performance, and to the recent military
crises, which emphasised the need to strengthen security and resilience, even
through structural funds. The paper concludes that, to give cohesion a ‘constitutional’ dimension, a fiscal federalism model must prevail, in which national systems,
particularly the Italian system, are oriented towards solidarity objectives
A Sustainable Future for Media-Franchising’s Role in the Entertainment Industry
No full textThis research investigates the evolving role of media franchising in the entertainment industry, focusing on how
interconnected media platforms, transmedia storytelling, and innovative business models shape franchise sustainability and
consumer engagement. Tracing the historical development from niche intellectual properties to globally recognized brands
such as “Harry Potter”, “Pokémon”, and “Hello Kitty”, the study illustrates how strategic franchising has transformed content
creation, distribution, merchandising, and licensing. This evolution underscores the sector’s capacity for cultural influence
and economic resilience.
The research is particularly relevant in a time of shifting consumer behaviours and technological advancements. As audiences
demand more personalized and immersive content, franchises must strike a balance between innovation, quality, and brand
consistency. The study is vital for the sector as it addresses how economic sustainability and consumer loyalty can be
preserved amidst market saturation and franchise fatigue—issues that threaten long-term profitability and brand equity.
Grounded in qualitative methodology, this study employs thematic analysis and a focused case study of “The Walt Disney
Company”, integrating data from academic literature, industry reports, and publicly accessible analyses and documents. Key
findings reveal that while media franchising can create a self-sustaining revenue model and foster intergenerational brand
loyalty, aggressive content expansion can dilute narrative integrity and weaken engagement. The study anticipates that
future success depends on strategic selectivity, high production values, and meaningful innovation.
This paper provides actionable insights for entertainment managers, policymakers, and scholars, contributing to a deeper
understanding of how media franchises can adapt to ensure cultural relevance and sustainable business growth in a
competitive global market
