Innovation and digitalisation in European regions: addressing spatial issues through GWR-SAR approach
Since Schumpeter’s pioneering studies, the regional dimension of innovation has gained recognition to the extent of being valued within policy frameworks. Grounded in the Triple Helix model, which considers academia, industry, and government, and expanded to include digitalisation, this paper investigates the factors influencing regional innovation in Europe. Through a series of research hypotheses, the study explores whether and to what extent regional innovation depends on local characteristics and how it is influenced by the innovation of neighbouring regions, while accounting for spatial heterogeneity. The estimation strategy is given by GWR-SAR models, which address spatial autocorrelation and spatial heterogeneity simultaneously. The models are estimated for 2017 and 2022 using data on 233 NUTS-2 regions from the 2023 Regional Innovation Scoreboard. The results suggest that digitalisation does not linearly impact innovation. While digitalisation enhances innovation performance, a turning point is reached beyond which further digitalisation yields diminishing returns or even adverse effects on regional innovation
Biodiversity reporting nelle aziende crocieristiche.

Polyphenols and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia: Emerging Therapeutic Opportunities
Background/Objectives: Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative neoplasm characterized by the BCR–ABL fusion gene, whose constitutive tyrosine kinase activity drives leukemogenesis. Although tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have revolutionized treatment, drug resistance and leukemic stem cell persistence remain major challenges. Natural compounds such as polyphenols have shown potential in modulating
key oncogenic pathways in CML. Results: Polyphenols such as resveratrol, quercetin, curcumin, and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) demonstrated significant antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic effects in CML cell lines, including imatinib-resistant models. These effects were mediated through the modulation of signaling pathways, including PI3K/Akt, STAT5, and MAPK; inhibition of BCR–ABL expression; induction of oxidative stress; and the enhancement of apoptosis via mitochondrial and caspase-dependent mechanisms. Some polyphenols also showed synergistic activity with TKIs, potentiating their efficacy and overcoming resistance. Conclusions: Preclinical evidence supports the role of polyphenols as potential adjuvants in CML therapy, particularly in drug-resistant contexts. Their pleiotropic molecular actions and low toxicity profile make them promising candidates for integrative oncology. Nonetheless, clinical translation requires further investigation through well-designed trials assessing efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics

A New Formula for the Accurate Evaluation of Magnetic Spectrometers’ Performance With Nonuniform Fields
We present a new and highly accurate formula to evaluate muon momentum and its resolution for magnetic spectrometers with high variability of field distribution. A full derivation of the model is given, along with a comparison with the classic approach. The statistical validation is performed using a 3-D numerical simulation of the particle flight within the magnetized volume of the spectrometer. In the presence of high variation in field profiles, for the considered study cases, the proposed formula provides an average accuracy of 2%, as compared to 18% and 33% of its classical counterparts. This improvement is achieved with no increase in the computational cost, providing a fast, simple, and reliable tool for the design of spectrometers’ magnets
