Understanding the Unseen : A Systematic Literature Review of Conceptual Understanding in Mathematics Education with a Focus on Number Sense.

    No full text

Urban Climate InteracTable : towards an immersive contextual data analysis platform to visualize and explore urban heat

    No full text
Extreme weather events, such as heat waves, are occurring more frequently and intensively, imposing new climate-adaptation demands on municipal planning. We conducted a design study across the domains of urban planning and urban climate research, and identified challenges regarding a lack of heat-related information in current planning processes, and the high complexity of effective climate data representation. To address these challenges, and so enhance the information flow between these domains, we developed Urban Climate InteracTable, an immersive interface that supports exploratory analysis of spatio-temporal climate simulation data integrated with an urban environment representation. We describe several use cases in which this interface can be utilized to assist with planning-related decision processes and to communicate heat-related phenomena. We present the feedback obtained from our collaborating domain experts and relevant external experts, and reflect on our experiences throughout the design study. From this, we offer insights for future research.Additional funding: Norrköpings fond för forskning och utveckling (Norrköping’s Fund for Research and Development) [KS2022/0257]</p

Hva' gør vi nu, lille du? : A qualitative analysis of columns about former national team head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson, in relation to the Swedish men´s national football qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

    No full text
This study examines how Swedish sports columnists portray the national football team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson during the opening matches of Sweden's qualification campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As the first foreign head coach of the Swedish men’s national team, Tomasson represents a unique and symbolically charged figure within Swedish football culture. Through a qualitative text analysis of columns published in Aftonbladet and Expressen, the study explores how language, imagery, and narrative structures are used to construct meaning around national identity, responsibility, and belonging. The theoretical framework is based on framing theory, the concept of opinion journalism, and Stuart Hall’s part of representation theory, the structure of the other. The results show that the framing of Jon Dahl Tomasson shifts over time, from being depicted as an idealistic leader to becoming a symbol of failure. Through value-laden language, irony, and rhetorical contrasts, journalists gradually position Jon Dahl Tomasson outside the Swedish collective identity. The visual material further reinforces this exclusion, using compositional and emotional cues that signal distance and isolation. The Study highlights how sports journalism not only reports on sports events but also plays an active role in shaping cultural understandings of Swedishness and national identity

    No full text

A curated dataset of multi-channel TV program schedules for optimization and benchmarking

    No full text
This article presents a collection of 515 Smart TV scheduling instances from three public sources: IPTV EPG broadcast listings, EPG.PW program guides, and upcoming YouTube livestream schedules obtained through the YouTube Data API. The data were collected and processed using automated Python scripts that download program information, convert it into a standard format, and remove entries with missing or invalid time information. All times are recorded as minutes from the start of each scheduling period to ensure consistency across different sources. Each instance is stored as a JSON file with a consistent structure. Each file contains the scheduling period (start and end times), channel information, program time slots that don’t overlap, program categories, and quality scores from 0 to 100 for each program. Instances also include two types of constraints: strict rules that specify which channels must be available during certain time windows, and flexible preferences that assign bonus points to programs airing at preferred times. All files are organized by data source and automatically checked for correctness. The dataset can be used for benchmarking optimization and constraint-based scheduling methods, comparing objective formulations with switching and termination penalties, testing algorithms under time-dependent feasibility constraints, and extracting instance features for dataset characterization and dimensionality-reduction workflows

Circulation of influenza D virus in Ukraine : A multi-species serological study

    No full text
Influenza viruses infect a wide range of animal species and continue to pose a significant threat to global health. Influenza D virus (IDV), first identified in 2011, has emerged as a new pathogen with a broad host range and remains poorly understood. This seroepidemiological study aimed to investigate the circulation of IDVs in Ukraine by analysing serum samples from domestic, wild and pet animals collected between 2021 and 2024. All samples tested negative for influenza A viruses. The highest seroprevalence for the D/660 lineage was detected in horses (57%), followed by swine (10%), with sporadic positivity observed in wild and companion animals. Positivity for the D/OK lineage was lower across all species. Overall, these finding provide evidence of the circulation and predominance of the D/660 lineage as the major IDV circulating in Ukraine and underscore the importance of coordinated surveillance in livestock, wildlife, and at-risk human populations to fully evaluate the public health implications of this emerging pathogen

Lived Experiences of Older LGBTQI plus Adults Aged 60 or Older : A Systematic Review and Qualitative Synthesis

    No full text
Despite increasing research on LGBTQI+ people's experiences, studies specifically focusing on those aged 60 and older remain scarce. This group has faced unique challenges that younger generations may not have encountered. The aim of this study was to synthesize qualitative research on the lived experience of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) people aged 60 years and older. We followed the ENTREQ reporting guidelines. Articles were searched in ASSIA, CINAHL, Medline, PsycInfo, Sociological Abstracts, and Sociological Services Abstracts, with additional gray literature searches. Out of 3207 articles, 1865 were assessed using the SPIDER (sample, phenomenon of interest, design, evaluation, research type) framework. The quality of 22 articles was evaluated using SBU guidelines. Eight articles, involving 169 LGBTQI+ participants aged 60-89 years from Australia, Canada, Sweden, and the United States were included. Reflexive thematic analysis revealed three themes: (a) the ongoing work of being open or of concealing, (b) the need for recognition and belonging, and (c) resilience despite challenges. Participants shared their journeys of self-discovery, highlighting their strength in the face of discrimination, as they continued to find their authentic selves over the years. While some positive and negative experiences were common across identities, others were specific for subgroups of participants, which should inform future studies

This thesis studied which factors affect political participation among people with physical disabilities in Sweden.  The aim of the study was to test how Civic Voluntarism Model should explain the low political participation among people with physical disabilities in Sweden, through deep interviews.  Following research questions has been studied in the thesis:  How can the Civic Voluntarism Model, based on the time, communicative skills and economic resources, explain the low political participation of people with physical disabilities in Sweden? Which other factors, linked to accessibility, discrimination and legislation, are needed to further explain and understand the barriers to political engagement and participation for people with physical disabilities?  Results about treatment, clearer legislation, economic possibilities and inclusion was central. It became important to considered that where is differences in which capabilities where are to political participation. The CVM could partly explain the low political participation among people with physical disabilities. It needs to be complete with external factors; accessibility, discrimination and legalization, to make more inclusive explanations.

    No full text
Today, many regard the Democratic and the Republican Party in the US to be significantly different than prior with regard to changed rhetoric and changed political world. This reason alone is enough to make an interesting research question how democratic and republican presidents view «economic freedom» based on Robert Nozick, John Rawls and Isaiah Berlins perception of economic freedom. The research question therefore relies on how present presidents view economic freedom compared to how past presidents view economic freedom with Nozick, Rawls and Berlin as emphasizers within the theory. This is performed with the use of by Marie Demker’s coined the is-should-do-scheme, being an analytical tool providing from the empirical material the first State of the Union speech by the selected president where the presidents view on reality (is), uthopia (should) and strategy (do) is presented. The result followed by use of the method is that Jimmy Carter was considered aligned with Berlin and Rawls while Joe Biden was considered aligned with Rawls making the Democratic party emphasising the economic view of Rawls, while Ronald Reagan was considered aligned with Berlin and Donald Trump mostly aligned with Rawls, making the Republican party over time aligned with Rawls and Berlins interpretation.
