    Siyasal iletişim insanlığın gelişimine paralel olarak varlık gösteren ve insanlığın değişimi ile dönüşen bir yapıya sahiptir. Siyasi arenada da bütün diğer disiplinlerde olduğu gibi iletişim muhataba ulaşmada aracı olarak kullanan bir yapıya sahiptir. Bu aracılar temelde kitle iletişim araçları çerçevesinde şekillenmektedir. Amacın ve hedef kitlenin esas alındığı çeşitli yöntemler ile en doğru aracı belirlenmekte ve en etkin şekilde kullanılmaya çalışılmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda siyasi iletişimde, özellikle seçim dönemlerinde yaygın olarak kullanılan yöntemlerden biri seçim şarkılarıdır. Seçim şarkıları hem ahenkli bir yapıya sahip olması hem de kısa cümleler ile özün sunulmaya çalışılması ile özellikle seçim dönemlerinde dillere pelesenk olabilmektedir. Kolay dolaşıma sokulabilen yapıları ile toplumun genelini etkisi altına alabilmektedir. Bu anlamda 1995 ve 1999 Türkiye Genel Seçimlerinde en çok oy alan üç partinin seçim şarkıları incelenerek adayın ve partinin bu şarkılarda nasıl yansıtıldığı bulgulanmıştır. Yöntem olarak amaca en uygun yöntemlerden biri olan Roland Barthes’ın “Göstergebilim Yöntemi” tercih edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu yöntem temel alınarak seçim şarkılarında yer alan metaforik ve metonimik öğeler tablolaştırılmış, çıkarımlarda bulunulmuştur. Çalışmanın sonucunda elde edilen bilgiler temel olarak şöyledir: İncelenen seçim şarkılarında genel olarak mevcut düzenden yakınılmakta ve bir kurtuluş reçetesi yazılmaktadır. Adayın genellikle parti ile özdeşleştirilmeye çalışıldığı görülmektedir. Bu doğrultuda ise aday ve parti imajı benzer kodlar ile oluşturulmaya çalıştırılmakta, biri diğerinin yerine ikame edilebilir olarak kullanılabilmektedir.Political communication has a structure that exists in parallel with the development of humanity and transforms humanity with its change. In the political arena, as in all other disciplines, communication has a structure that uses it as a means of reaching the interlocutor. These intermediaries are basically shaped within the framework of mass media. With various methods based on the purpose and target audience, the most accurate tool is determined and tried to be used in the most effective way. In this direction, one of the methods widely used in political communication, especially during election periods, is election songs. Election songs can be especially popular during election periods with their harmonious structure and trying to present the essence with short sentences. With its easily circulating structures, it can affect the general society. In this sense, the election songs of the three parties that received the most votes in the 1995 and 1999 Turkish General Elections were examined and it was determined how the candidate and the party were reflected in these songs. As a method, Roland Barthes' semiotic method, which is one of the most suitable methods for the purpose, was preferred. In addition, on the basis of this method, metaphorical and metonomic elements in the election songs were tabulated and inferences were made. The information obtained as a result of the study is basically as follows: In the election songs examined, the existing order is generally complained about and a recipe for salvation is written. It is seen that the candidate is generally tried to be identified with the party. In this direction, the candidate and party image are tried to be created with similar codes, and one can be used as a substitute for the other

    Decision-analytics-based electric vehicle charging station location selection: A cutting-edge fuzzy rough framework

    Electric vehicles are of great significance in supporting sustainable transportation and sustainability. In parallel with the increasing demand for such vehicles worldwide, the electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs) market has grown dramatically. The study presents a practical model for selecting EVCS sites integrating multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), fuzzy, and rough sets. The research aims to bridge the gap in evaluating EVCS locations by leveraging the superiorities of fuzzy and rough set theories to address vagueness effectively. Firstly, assessment criteria cover the environment, economic, technology, and social drivers. Secondly, a fuzzy Defining Interrelationships Between Ranked criteria (F-DIBR) model is applied to determine the weight values of siting factors. Last, for the first time, the Mixed Aggregation by COmprehensive Normalization Technique (MACONT) with hybrid fuzzy rough numbers (FRN-MACONT) model is proposed to obtain the ranking results. Further, a new approach for defining hybrid fuzzy rough numbers is suggested, based on an improved methodology for determining rough numbers' lower and upper limits, allowing consideration of mutual relations between a set of objects and flexible representation of rough boundary intervals depending on the dynamic environmental conditions. The study's novelties reside in deciding the importance of the driving forces used in determining the EVCS site location with a novel method, F-DIBR, and selecting the optimal site with a new FRN-MACONT approach. The results show that economy is the most significant criterion, whereas system reliability is the most critical sub-criterion. The findings also indicate that the Konak territory performs the best, whereas the Cigli territory is the second best. Comprehensive sensitivity analysis verifies the proposed framework's validity, robustness, and effectiveness. As per the research findings and analyses, some managerial implications are further discussed. The approach introduced has the potential to contribute to the green transport literature

    Evaluation of clinical, hematological and biochemical parameters with Cystatin C in cats with renal damage

    Kronik böbrek hastalığı (KBH), özellikle yaşlı kedilerde yaygın olarak görülen, ilerleyici ve geri dönüşü olmayan bir hastalıktır. Bu nedenle böbrek fonksiyon kaybının erken evrede tespit edilebilmesi, hastalığın seyrini yavaşlatmak ve yaşam kalitesini artırmak açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Günümüzde kullanılan geleneksel biyobelirteçler (kreatinin, BUN) böbrek fonksiyonlarının ileri derecede bozulmasından sonra yükseldiğinden, daha duyarlı ve erken belirteçlere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda Sistatin C, glomerüler filtrasyon hızını daha hassas yansıtabilen yeni bir biyobelirteç adayı olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bu çalışma, kronik böbrek hastalığı bulunan kedilerde serum Sistatin C düzeyinin böbrek fonksiyon bozukluklarının erken teşhisindeki potansiyel rolünü değerlendirmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında, farklı ırk ve yaş gruplarından toplam 25 kedi incelenmiş, genel klinik muayenelerinin yanı sıra hematolojik ve biyokimyasal analizleri yapılmıştır. Sistatin C düzeyleri kantitatif immünofloresan analiz yöntemiyle belirlenmiş ve elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Biyokimyasal sonuçlara göre, ortalama kreatinin değeri 4,49 mg/dL, BUN değeri 80,62 mg/dL ve Sistatin C düzeyi ise 14,72 mg/dL olarak belirlenmiştir. Sistatin C düzeyleri ile kreatinin ve BUN düzeyleri arasında anlamlı korelasyon bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Bulgular, Sistatin C’nin özellikle erken dönem böbrek fonksiyon bozukluklarında anlamlı bir biyobelirteç olabileceğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca hastaların büyük bir kısmında kilo kaybı, dehidrasyon, kusma ve poliüri gibi klinik semptomlar tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, Sistatin C düzeyinin izlenmesi, kedilerde KBH'nin erken teşhisine katkı sağlayabilir. Ancak, Sistatin C’nin diğer parametrelerle birlikte değerlendirilmesi, daha güvenilir sonuçlar elde edilmesine olanak tanımaktadır. Gelecekte daha geniş örneklem gruplarıyla yapılacak çalışmalar, bu biyobelirtecin klinik pratikteki yerini daha sağlam şekilde belirleyecektir.Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common, progressive, and irreversible condition in aging cats. Therefore, early detection of renal dysfunction is essential for slowing disease progression and improving quality of life. Traditional biomarkers such as creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) tend to increase only after significant nephron loss, highlighting the need for more sensitive and earlier indicators. In this context, Cystatin C has emerged as a promising biomarker that may reflect glomerular filtration rate (GFR) more accurately in the early stages of renal impairment. This study aimed to evaluate the potential role of serum Cystatin C in the early diagnosis of kidney dysfunction in cats diagnosed with CKD. A total of 25 cats of different breeds and ages were included. Following a general clinical examination, hematological and biochemical parameters were analyzed. Serum Cystatin C levels were measured using a quantitative immunofluorescence assay, and the data were evaluated statistically. According to the biochemical results, the average creatinine level was 4.49 mg/dL, BUN was 80.62 mg/dL, and Cystatin C level was 14.72 mg/dL. A statistically significant correlation was found between Cystatin C levels and both creatinine and BUN concentrations (p<0.05). These findings suggest that Cystatin C may serve as a valuable biomarker for the early detection of renal dysfunction. Moreover, common clinical symptoms observed in the cats included weight loss, dehydration, vomiting, and polyuria. In conclusion, monitoring serum Cystatin C levels may contribute to the early diagnosis of CKD in cats. However, using Cystatin C in conjunction with other parameters is recommended for more accurate evaluation. Further studies with larger sample sizes are necessary to establish its clinical utility more definitively

    This article examines the intellectual legacy of the Frankfurt School and Critical Theory, focusing on its origins, transformations, and intergenerational dialogues. The School's primary objective is to philosophically analyze and critique the social pathologies and contradictions engendered by modern capitalist societies. Influenced by philosophers like Kant, Hegel, and Marx, as well as psychoanalysis and Weberian rationalization debates, the School addressed historical context, capitalism's cultural forms, and new types of social subjectivity. The article traces the evolution from the first generation's critique of modernity and domination (Horkheimer, Adorno), through the innovations of the second generation with Habermas's theory of communicative action, to the contributions of the third generation, particularly Axel Honneth's theory of recognition. It highlights Honneth's effort to center the struggle for recognition within Critical Theory—addressing the perceived shortcomings of previous generations (especially the pessimism of the first generation and the moral experiences overlooked by Habermas's theory)—and provide a new normative foundation. The theory of recognition reveals the moral dimensions underlying social conflicts and emancipatory struggles, emphasizing the importance of intersubjective relations

    Examining the developmental rotation of public affairs education in T & uuml;rkiye cannot be adequately undertaken solely through a single policy lens within the framework of national higher education and administrative reform policies. Instead, a more nuanced approach entails delving into the discipline's specific structural and contextual evolution through external impacts. This study focuses on a special type of external impact: faculty members receiving their Ph.D. degrees abroad. The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of obtaining a Ph.D. degree abroad on public affairs education in T & uuml;rkiye and to reveal the enablers and barriers of this process by focusing on the experiences of those faculty members. Through the interviews conducted with 24 faculty members who received their Ph.D. degrees abroad and came back home, the findings suggest that such an external impact has the potential to be as effective as any other higher education policy. Yet, this process faces some internal barriers, tension points, and enabling factors

    Multiobjective optimization of dry batch micronized grinding of slaked lime in a vibrating mill via TOPSIS and ANOVA

    The multiobjective optimization of dry batch micronized grinding of slaked lime in a vibrating mill was carried out via the technique for order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) method. The main objective is to reduce the average particle size (d50) and specific energy consumption (SEC) and maximize the specific surface area (SA). Experimental trials varied the charged material volume, ball-filling ratio, and grinding time. The results were analyzed via analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine each parameter's contributions, and regression models were used to predict the relative closeness (RC) to the ideal solution. The optimal grinding parameters were 30% for the charged material volume, 80% for the ball filling ratio, and 10 minutes for the grinding time, resulting in a d50 of 6.26 mu m, an SA of 2.71 m2/g, and an SEC of 2.42 kWh/ton. The empirical model, validated through ANOVA, revealed a high coefficient of determination (R2 = 0.975), confirming the model's accuracy. The findings show that while higher impact forces, frequencies, and acceleration in vibrating mills allow the use of smaller grinding media, the increased surface area of micronized slaked lime is not directly proportional to the energy input. This study provides a comprehensive approach for optimizing the micronization of slaked lime, contributing valuable insights into energy-efficient grinding processes

    İşletmelerin dijitalleşme düzeyleri ile beraber dijitalleşmede güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini tespit etmeleri, etkili kararlar almaları açısından kritik öneme sahiptir. Bu bağlamda, dijital olgunluk modelleri işletmelere yol gösteren önemli araçlardandır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, lojistik işletmelere özgü işlevsel bir dijital olgunluk modelinin geliştirilmesidir. Araştırmanın ilk kısmında, alanında uzman on iki kişi ile mülakatlar gerçekleştirilmiş ve elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle değerlendirilerek modelin temel boyutları belirlenmiştir. Boyutları temsil edecek göstergeler ise mülakatlardan elde edilen bulgular ile literatür taramasından elde edilen bilgiler sentezlenerek oluşturulmuştur. Bu kapsamda, lojistik işletmelerin pratik biçimde kullanabileceği bir dijital olgunluk ölçeği tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın ikinci kısmında, geliştirilen dijital olgunluk ölçeği, iki büyük ölçekli lojistik işletmede uygulanarak ölçeğin kullanılabilirliği test edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, ölçeğin işletmeler tarafından bağımsız bir şekilde uygulanabilir nitelikte olduğunu ve dijital dönüşüm süreçlerinde gelişimi destekleyici sonuçlar üretebildiğini göstermektedir. İşletmeler, söz konusu ölçek aracılığıyla dijital olgunluk seviyelerini belirleyebilir, dijital dönüşüm yolculuklarındaki güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini tespit edebilir ve bu doğrultuda stratejik bir yol haritası oluşturabilirler.It is critical for businesses to determine their digitalisation levels and identify their strong and open areas for development in order to make effective decisions. In this context, digital maturity models are important tools that guide businesses. The main purpose of this study is to develop a functional digital maturity model specific to logistics businesses. In the first stage of the research, interviews were conducted with 12 experts in the field and the data obtained were evaluated by content analysis method and the basic dimensions of the model were determined. The indicators to represent the dimensions were created by synthesising the findings obtained from the interviews and the information obtained from the literature review. In this context, a digital maturity scale that can be used practically by logistics organisations has been designed. In the second stage of the research, the developed digital maturity scale was applied to two large-scale logistics organisations and the usability of the scale was tested. The findings show that the scale can be applied independently by enterprises and can produce results that support development in digital transformation processes. Through this scale, enterprises can determine their digital maturity levels, identify their strengths and weaknesses in their digital transformation journeys and create a strategic road map in this direction

    Sustainable Utilization of Poppy Seed Oil By-Products in Gluten-Free Cookie Production: Advancing Nutrition via Waste-Reducing Strategies

    The increasing demand for gluten-free (GF) functional foods and sustainable ingredient innovation underscores the importance of valorizing food by-products. This study investigated the use of poppy seed cake flour (PSCF), a cold-pressed oil by-product, as the primary flour in GF cookies. PSCFs derived from blue, yellow, and white poppy seeds were used to produce GF cookies at 50%, 70%, and 100% substitution levels. The nutritional composition, mineral content, amino acid and fatty acid (FA) profiles, antioxidant capacity (cupric-reducing antioxidant capacity [CUPRAC], 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl [DPPH], ferric reducing ability of plasma [FRAP], total phenolic content [TPC]), physical analysis, and hardness were all investigated. Data were statistically evaluated using analysis of variance and principal component analysis. PSCF cookies containing 100% blue PSCF had the highest protein content (34.56%), calcium (85.96 ppm), phosphorus (90.66 ppm), and antioxidant activity (0.2186 CUPRAC, 0.0860 DPPH, 0.088 FRAP mgTroloxeqv/mL). The TPC of the samples was 0.094 mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/mL. PSCF cookies were high in essential amino acids such as lysine (799 nmol/g) and glutamic acid (>6200 nmol/g), while linoleic acid dominated the FA profile (up to 52.388 nmol/g). Higher PSCF incorporation increased hardness while maintaining acceptable spread ratios. Results demonstrated that PSCF incorporation significantly improved protein, essential amino acid (notably lysine), and mineral contents, particularly calcium, magnesium, and iron. Cookies enriched with PSCF exhibited favorable FA profiles dominated by linoleic and oleic acids, along with enhanced antioxidant activity, especially in 100% blue PSCF cookies. Hardness and darker coloration were within acceptable sensory ranges. Overall, PSCF significantly offers a sustainable, nutrient-rich flour alternative aligned with circular economy principles

    The examination of fourth-grade primary school students’ self-regulation and problem-solving skills according to their role model preferences

    Bu araştırmada, ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin öz düzenleme ve problem çözme becerilerinin rol model tercihlerine göre incelenmek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğrencilere Rol Model Alma Anketi, Öz Düzenlemeyi Öğrenme Envanteri ve Problem Çözme Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Veriler, betimsel istatistikler, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), bağımsız gruplar T-testi, Kruskal-Wallis testi, Tukey testi ve korelasyon analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini; 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında, Van ilinde kırsalda ve kentte bulunan toplam sekiz ilkokulda öğrenim gören 533 dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırma bulgularına göre, öğrencilerin rol model tercihleri en çok ünlüler, ardından akranlar, aile bireyleri ve öğretmenler yönünde yoğunlaşmıştır. Rol model türüne göre öz düzenleme becerilerinde anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuş; özellikle öğretmen ve ünlü model tercihleri arasında fark tespit edilmiştir. Rol model alma nedenlerinde karakter özellikleri ve komik/eğlenceli olma kategorileri ve öz düzenleme becerisi arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya derinlik katılması amacıyla sonuçlar yerleşim yeri ve cinsiyet değişkenlerine göre de analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca, öz düzenleme ve problem çözme becerileri arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, Öz düzenleme becerisi ile öğrencilerin rol model tercihleri ve rol model alma nedenleri arasında ilişki olduğunu ortaya konmuştur. Problem çözme becerisi ile rol model tercihleri ve rol model alma nedenleri arasında anlamlı bir fark tespit edilememiştir. Öz düzenleme ve problem çözme becerileri arasında bir ilişki bulunduğunu ortaya konmuştur. Bulgular doğrultusunda eğitim ortamlarında rol model temelli etkinliklerin artırılması, öğretmenlerin öz düzenlemeyi destekleyen stratejileri uygulamaları ve öğrencilerin problem çözme süreçlerine öz düzenleme becerilerini entegre edebilecekleri uygulamalara yer verilmesi önerilmektedir.In this study, it was aimed to examine the self-regulation and problem-solving skills of fourth-grade primary school students in relation to their role model preferences. The research was conducted using the content analysis method. The Role Model Questionnaire, the Self-Regulated Learning Inventory, and the Problem-Solving Scale were administered to the students. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), independent samples t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Tukey test, and correlation analysis. The sample of the study consisted of 533 fourth-grade students studying in a total of eight primary schools located in both rural and urban areas of Van province during the 2023–2024 academic year. According to the research findings, students’ role model preferences were mostly focused on celebrities, followed by peers, family members, and teachers. Significant differences were found in self-regulation skills according to the type of role model; specifically, a difference was observed between those who preferred teachers and those who preferred celebrities. A significant difference was also found between the reasons for choosing role models—particularly in the categories of character traits and being funny/entertaining—and self-regulation skills. To add depth to the study, results were also analyzed according to residential area and gender variables. Furthermore, a positive and significant relationship was determined between self-regulation and problem-solving skills. The results of the study revealed that there is a relationship between self-regulation skills and students’ role model preferences as well as their reasons for choosing role models. However, no significant difference was found between problem-solving skills and role model preferences or reasons for choosing role models. It was concluded that there is a relationship between self-regulation and problem-solving skills. Based on the findings, it is recommended to increase role model-based activities in educational settings, encourage teachers to implement strategies that support self-regulation, and include practices that integrate self-regulation skills into students’ problem-solving processes

    Revisiting the Hedging Effectiveness of Gold and Bitcoin against Blue Economy and Green Finance ETFs

    In this article, we attempt to re-examine and assess the hedging effectiveness of Gold and Bitcoin against Blue Economy and Green Finance Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). To that end, we investigate the dynamic pairwise interaction among different asset classes and then compute different optimal hedge ratios. We use the Copula approach to produce the optimal hedge ratios for all pairwise combinations and the hedging effectiveness indexes. The time-varying correlations among Gold/Bitcoin and Blue/Green assets indicate dynamic features of the relationship among such asset classes. Gold offers a better hedge than Bitcoin in terms of optimal hedge ratio and hedging effectiveness. Time-varying hedging ratios and effectiveness are well-documented, showing dynamic cross-hedging Bitcoin/Gold-Blue/green ETFs. Such results are insightful for investors and portfolio managers, pointing to an ongoing regular demand to rebalance their portfolios. © 2025 With Intelligence LLC
