Kesultanan Aceh dan Turki: narasi sejarah dan ingatan lokal

    No full text
This book is an attempt, to some extent, to revisit what has happened in the far and recent past and to remind the relations between the two nations, particularly to the young generations. For that purpose, it comprises my encounters with relevant circles in Aceh society and readings in various sources, including partly Hikayats, archival documents, and contemporary works in Turkish, English, and Bahasa Indonesia. Hence it is not to imply that this book is a complete history of relations between the Acehnese and the Ottomans. About this, it is not wrong if I urge that the tsunami brought about ancient relations between the Acehnese and the Ottomans to be remembered. At the same time, it is also right to ask whether any significant attention is given to these ancient and relatively recent relations as fundamentals for future ones. No doubt, it is also true that the modern period is mostly regarded as the lost decades for both nations. And during these lost decades, both nations were busier, mostly for their political fray, and no doubt, many things have already changed a lot. But it is true at the same time that the tsunami opened a potential channel as a counter-impact on the reinstatement of the lost relations

Feasibility of quantum cryptography with AES for secure communication

    No full text
Traditional encryption techniques face serious threats from the rapid development of quantum computing, which could soon compromise many classical algorithms. To address this, new quantum-resistant security methods are needed to protect private data and communications. This paper proposes a hybrid encryption approach that integrates quantum key distribution (QKD) with a simplified 3×3 advanced encryption standard (AES) key matrix, creating a lightweight system. The objective is to provide an efficient encryption method suitable for devices with limited processing power, such as IoT devices. The model was simulated using Qiskit, achieving an average quantum bit error rate of 0.00%, protocol efficiency of 49.72 %, and quantum fidelity of 1.000 under certain conditions. During eavesdropping scenarios, the error rate increased to 16.90 %. The simplified AES achieved a 50.14 % avalanche effect and an encryption time of 0.3073 ms, reducing latency by 17 % compared to standard AES. These results suggest that combining QKD with lightweight AES can provide quantum resilience and computational efficiency, offering a practical solution for secure communication in the post-quantum era

Road safety education (RSE) is a vital component of primary school curricula to instil safe road behaviours early. However, traditional classroom-based approaches such as Pendidikan Keselamatan Jalan Raya (PKJR) may lack engagement and developmental appropriateness. This study implemented and evaluated the R-Safe Race, a play-based RSE programme designed for Malaysian primary school children aged 10–12, following the ADDIE instructional design model. The programme was conducted as an outdoor exploration race featuring six thematic checkpoints addressing key road safety topics. A total of 164 students participated, and their perceptions of content clarity, relevance, interest, understanding, and learning gains were assessed through a structured questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale. Findings showed strong engagement and positive perceptions overall, with particularly high ratings for checkpoints on car passengers and cyclist behaviour. Participants reported increased self-efficacy to adopt safer behaviours and found the facilitators effective. However, lower ratings on the transportation and vehicle safety checkpoints suggest areas for improvement. The results support play-based learning as an effective pedagogical approach to enhance engagement, understanding, and self-regulation in RSE. This study highlights the need to diversify RSE delivery methods to align with children’s developmental needs, suggesting that outdoor, guided play activities offer significant benefits over traditional approache

Task allocation and path planning are two highly focused areas in the arena of Multi Robot Systems (MRS) due to their versatile applications. Whether they are treated separately or in conjunction, the operational constraints play a critical role on their performance. This paper presents a comprehensive review on task assignment and path planning of MRS by dedicating a specific focus on operational constraints, and explores the potentials of Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) to address them. A detailed insight into formulation and scheme characterization of Multi Robot Task Allocation (MRTA) problems is presented with an extensive review on the solution techniques of task allocation and path planning, among which the learning-based approaches (particularly DRL) were found to be providing notable advantages over traditional ones. The operational constraints are systematically categorized and challenges appearing alongside them are identified. Furthermore, the paper pinpoints existing research gaps in this regard, and ventures into discovering ways to bridge them using state-of-the-art DRL training algorithms, techniques, frameworks, and concepts, which also expose significant potential and research avenues for MRS. Additionally, the computational resources and accelerators for DRL are discussed to appreciate the real-world deployment of DRL-based MRS. Thus, the paper establishes a benchmark for advancing the swift autonomy of MRS

    Rawatan pergigian 'tertinggal' di pedalaman

    No full text

Brewing perfection: real-time monitoring of arabic coffee using iot and machine learning

    No full text
The Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging field for researchers. It is a network of public objects that are embedded with technologies that help them communicate and interact within themselves and the external environment, for example, a smart home, and its goal is to provide people with services that suit their needs. As the traditional process of preparing Arabic coffee, this paper aims to improve the process of preparing Arabic coffee using machine learning and computer vision techniques, by addressing the problem of bubbling that occurs during traditional preparation, which requires careful supervision. A comprehensive dataset of 70 videos of the coffee preparation process was collected, resulting in the extraction of 834 images that were divided into training and validation sets. The pre-preparation steps included tagging objects using the Roboflow tool and rotating the images, which increased the size of the dataset by four times. Using the YOLOv8 algorithm, a model was trained to detect and track the state of coffee in real time. Before data augmentation, the model achieved an mAP50–95 of 0.636. After data augmentation, these metrics improved significantly, reaching an mAP50–95 of 0.917. The trained model was tested on live video streams and successfully monitored the coffee status in real time and alerted users when brewing was complete, preventing spills. The system demonstrated high efficiency and accuracy in performance, mimicking human coffee brewing methods. The results demonstrate the potential of the YOLOv8 algorithm to automate and optimize routine tasks with high accuracy

A practical guide to reporting appraisal and transparency in qualitative research in health professions education

Qualitative research plays an increasingly important role in health professions education by exploring the meaning, process, and context that cannot be captured through quantitative approaches alone. It allows researchers to understand how patients, students, and practitioners experience, interpret, and act within clinical and educational environments, offering insights that are essential for improving curricula, practice, and policy. Despite its value, qualitative research has often been criticised for lacking transparency and rigour, particularly in areas such as sampling, analytic procedures, and researcher reflexivity. To address these concerns, structured reporting standards, such as the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) and Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQR), were developed to enhance clarity, reproducibility, and appraisal. A range of appraisal tools is also available, with the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) and the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) checklist widely used in health professions research, alongside other newer approaches such as the Differentiated Qualitative Appraisal (DiQuAl) tool. This review provides an overview and practical guide to reporting, appraisal, and transparency in qualitative research within health professions education. It discusses the evolution of reporting standards, compares key frameworks, highlights the importance of reflexivity and trustworthiness, and outlines practical strategies for embedding reporting guidelines throughout the research process. By integrating these approaches, researchers can produce more credible, transferable, and impactful qualitative scholarship
