The potential for micro-takaful in Sudan: understanding public perception and adoption challenges
This study explores the perceptions and barriers to Micro-Takaful adoption among Sudanese citizens, based on a quantitative survey of 428 respondents. Understanding public perceptions is essential for promoting health Micro-Takaful as a practical alternative for financial protection among low-income individuals in Sudan. Despite health Micro-Takaful’s potential to provide financial protection to low-income populations, its adoption in Sudan remains limited. Data was collected through an online questionnaire targeting Sudanese adults aged 18 and above and then the analysis was conducted using SPSS version25. The survey findings highlight that health Takaful coverage increases with age, likely due to greater health awareness or employment benefits, but significant gaps remain, especially among younger and middle-aged adults. This highlights the need for targeted strategies to improve Takaful uptake across all age groups, and targeted interventions to increase health Takaful access in less covered areas, which affect the acceptance of Micro-Takaful products. This paper presents a detailed analysis of Sudanese perception towards Takaful and Micro-Takaful adoption in Suda
Guiding principles from Sūrah Al-Kahf for the development of the Islamic identity of Muslim youth
This study aims to derive guiding principles from Sūrah al-Kahf for Muslim youth to preserve and develop their Islamic identity. An inductive approach was used to analyse the four major narratives of the sūrah: the companions of the cave, the companion of the two gardens, Mūsa and Khiḍr, and the narrative of Dhū al-Qarnayn. Through this process, the study extracted seven guiding principles for developing the Islamic identity of Muslim youth. These guiding principles deal specifically with the major threats faced by Muslim youth in preserving their Islamic identity. Through the first narrative, the companions of the cave, four guiding principles were extracted relating to the threats of peer pressure, assimilation, and Islamophobia. The second narrative of the companion of the two gardens provided a principle in dealing with materialism and corrupt desires. The third narrative of Mūsa and Khiḍr was the source of a principle dealing with the threats of religious doubt and the loss of religion in society. The fourth and final narrative of Dhū al-Qarnayn personified the application of all the previous principles illustrating the importance of providing Muslim youth with an exemplary role model. These seven guiding principles provide applicable solutions that can be used to protect and develop the Islamic identity against specific threats. This study serves as a crucial step in finding solutions to the challenges and threats faced by Muslim youth in preserving their Islamic identity. If followed sincerely, these principles can empower Muslim youth by transforming them into confident and successful leaders through their Islamic identity, ensuring their success in this world and the hereafter
Design and optimization of a flexible antenna for ISM band wearable devices via inset slot integration and parasitic elements
This paper aims to analyze and optimize the electrical properties of a flexible antenna to maximize its potential. The antenna's performance is enhanced by incorporating inset slots on both the patch and ground plane, as well as utilizing parasitic elements to improve the resonant frequency and achieve a wider bandwidth. The flexible antenna is designed to resonate within the Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) frequency band of 5.725–5.875 GHz, using Rogers RO4003C with a dielectric constant of 3.55 and dimensions of 20 × 25 × 0.2032 mm³. The proposed antenna demonstrates promising results, with S11 of -37.05 dB at 5.78 GHz, and a bandwidth of 158 MHz, ranging from 5.739–5.897 GHz. The usable ISM bandwidth is 136 MHz, representing 90.67% of the ISM frequency band. Theoretical, simulation, and experimental analyses confirm that embedding slots on the patch or ground plane, along with the use of parasitic elements, significantly enhances the antenna's resonant frequency, bandwidth, and efficiency. Because of its flexibility, improved resonant frequency, and wide bandwidth, this antenna has potential uses in the ISM frequency band to enable faster and more efficient data transmission
On lebesgue quadratic stochastic operators with exponential measure generated by 3-partition
Quadratic Stochastic Operator (QSO) is a continuously expanding topic in nonlinear operator theory due to its immense applications in various disciplines. Inspired
by the notion of infinite state space, as there is limited literature on the QSO study defined on such a state space, we consider a QSO class on continuous state space in this work. It is known as Lebesgue QSO, which is an exponential measure generated by three measurable partitions with three parameters. We specify two distinct cases of three parameters, which are represented by reducible QSOs. We demonstrate that such a reducible QSO can be reduced to a one-dimensional simplex. Consequently, we analyse the dynamics of such operators by employing the first derivative method and show that the operators may have either an attracting fixed point to indicate the existence of a strong limit or a non-attracting fixed point to suggest the presence of a second-order cycle. Corresponding to a strong
limit of the sequence of the reduced QSO, such an operator is regular. Meanwhile, such an operator is a nonregular transformation when a second-order cycle exists
An analysis on Mohd. Kamal Hassan’s views of Islamisation of Human Knowledge (IOHK) and relevantisation of Islamic sciences
Despite the significant influence of Mohd. Kamal Hassan’s (hereinafter cited as Kamal) framework on Islamic education and knowledge integration, there remains a gap in systematic analysis of his “Islamicisation of human knowledge” (IOHK) methodology and its practicalimplementation.Additionally, whileIOHKhas been implemented at various institutions, there is limited documentation of its effectiveness and challenges in contemporaryeducationalsettings.Thisarticleexploresthe lateKamal’sideasonIOHKaswellastherelevantisation ofIslamicsciences, andsummarisesKamal’ssixrationales for IOHK, which are based on Qurʾānic teachings, the Tawḥīdicworldview, andhistoricalinstancesofIslamic intellectualism. By examining these rationales and their implementation, the article addresses the critical need for understanding how IOHK can effectively bridge the gap between Islamic and contemporary knowledge systems, apart from looking at how IOHK handles both current Muslim societies’ intellectual problems and the worldwide challenges offered by secular Western thought. It focuses on the practical application of IOHK at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and also covers policy declarations and activities inside IIUM, such as the institution’s adoption of 21 various modes of IOHK. In conclusion, suggestions are made to reinforce and increase the relevance of IOHK in current circumstances, emphasising its ability to contribute to the development of the Muslim ummah
Jurisdictional overlap between the Malaysian competition commission and the securities commission in merger review
The introduction of merger control provisions through the proposed amendment to Malaysia’s Competition Act 2010 (Act 712) represents a pivotal development in the country’s competition law framework. Merger control is a fundamental component of competition regulation globally, ensuring that business consolidations do not create monopolistic structures that harm market competition and consumer welfare. Many jurisdictions, including those in Southeast Asia, have long implemented such measures, and Malaysia’s adoption of merger review aligns it with international best practices. However, implementing this amendment raises critical concerns regarding jurisdictional overlaps between the Malaysian Competition Commission (MyCC) and the Securities Commission (SC). Both regulatory bodies have oversight responsibilities that may intersect, leading to potential enforcement inefficiencies, procedural delays, and disruptions to merger transactions. Without clear coordination mechanisms, businesses may face regulatory uncertainty, hindering investment and economic growth. This study examines the potential jurisdictional challenges and explores how effective inter-agency collaboration can be achieved. Employing a mixed-method approach that integrates doctrinal legal analysis with comparative insights from India and Singapore, this paper identifies three key issues: differences in legal definitions, information asymmetry, and conflicting timelines. Based on these findings, the study proposes institutional coordination mechanisms and the harmonisation of procedural timelines to enhance inter-agency collaboration. These recommendations aim to promote regulatory clarity, minimise enforcement conflicts, and foster a competitive yet business-friendly economic environment, ultimately strengthening Malaysia’s competition law enforcement and economic governanc

Authentication analysis of animal fats adulteration in nail polish simulation using Raman spectroscopy coupled with chemometrics
Cosmetics are being used daily by many people, and their consumption is on the rise every year. These products
are adulterated with cheaper alternatives to increase their profit. As more cosmetics are available in the market,
the authenticity of halal cosmetics has raised much concern among Muslim consumers throughout the world.
Therefore, authentication analysis of cosmetic products is urgently needed. This study was conducted to detect
beef tallow (BT), chicken fat (CF), lard (LD), and mutton fat (MF) in nail polish using Raman spectrometry
combined with chemometrics. Partial least square-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) and hierarchical cluster
analysis (HCA) were successfully used to differentiate animal fats into four subclasses. In addition, partial least
square (PLS) and orthogonal PLS (OPLS) regression were adequate to detect and predict the levels of BT, CF, LD,
and MF in nail polish with R2
> 0.990 both in calibration and validation models. The best prediction model for BT
was from OPLS at the wavenumber range of 100–3200 cm− 1 with R2
> 0.990 and RMSEC as well as RMSEP lower
than 2.0 %. Meanwhile PLS model demonstrated the best model to predict CF, LD, and MF was the PLS with
R2
> 0.990 and RMSEC as well as RMSEP around 1–2.40 %. This study revealed the potential application of
Raman spectroscopy in combination with chemometrics as an effective and efficient technique for authenticating
nail polish base formulation adulterated with animal fats
Meeting faith-based needs in tourism: the role of mobile applications for Muslim travelers
This study investigates how mobile applications can support Muslim-friendly tourism by addressing the specific faith-based needs of Muslim travelers. As the global Muslim travel market continues to expand—with projections previously reaching $200 billion by 2020—the demand for tailored services, especially in non-Muslim majority destinations, has grown significantly. However, many tourism stakeholders still face challenges in providing appropriate religious accommodations, which can negatively affect the overall travel experience. Using a quantitative approach, this research gathered data via both online and offline surveys to assess the types of information Muslim tourists seek and how mobile tools influence their travel satisfaction. Central research questions include identifying the essential religious and travel-related information requirements and understanding the psychological effects of mobile engagement on Muslim travelers. The results highlight the critical role digital platforms play in improving destination awareness, emotional comfort, and overall satisfaction. This study offers practical recommendations for tourism providers, encouraging the development of mobile solutions that support Muslim travelers’ religious obligations while enhancing their journey
