Fikih maqasid syariah: teori dan praktik

    No full text
This book offers a deep understanding of Maqasid al-Shariah—the higher objectives of Islamic law that underpin every aspect of a Muslim’s life, including acts of worship (ibadah), social and financial transactions (muamalah), and philanthropy. With a holistic approach, The book explores how the principles of maqasid al-shariah can be practically applied in daily life—not only in religious rituals but also in social and economic interactions, as well as charitable activities rooted in Shariah values. In the realm of muamalah, the book discusses the application of maqasid al-shariah within an ethical and just economic system, such as in Islamic banking and the management of zakat, sadaqah, and waqf. In worship, it invites readers to understand the spiritual objectives behind religious rituals, so that each act of worship becomes a means of self-improvement and a way to strengthen social solidarity. Meanwhile, in Islamic financial philanthropy, the book illustrates how zakat, sadaqah, and waqf can be utilized as instruments to realize social justice and the well-being of the ummah. This book serves as an essential reference for anyone seeking a comprehensive and practical understanding of maqasid al-shariah, and how its principles can be implemented to promote social justice and prosperity in this world—and attain happiness in the Hereafter. Enriched with relevant Qur’anic and Hadith references as well as practical examples, This book is a valuable guide for Muslims striving to live by Shariah principles in a more dynamic and contextual way

Walking the Prophetic path: the meaning and relevance of sīrah today

    No full text
The article presents Sirah as a living guide for faith, ethics, and social harmony in the modern world. It explains that studying the Prophet Muḥammad’s PBUH life transforms mere knowledge into spiritual and moral action. Through Fiqh al-Sirah, believers learn to embody mercy, humility, and justice in daily life. The article calls Muslims to walk the Prophet’s path, turning the lessons of his PBUH life into light for contemporary challenges

Analytical study on secondary metabolites extraction and characterization from Acacia gums (AGs)

    No full text
Acacia gums (AGs), derived from Acacia senegal, Acacia seyal, and Acacia polyacantha trees, are widely used in various industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. They serve as emulsifiers, stabilizers, thickeners, and soluble dietary fibers. This study aimed to optimize the extraction process of secondary metabolites extracted (SME) from AGS to enhance their efficiency and quality for industrial applications. Gum arabic, primarily composed of D-galactose, L-arabinose, L-rhamnose, D-glucuronic acid, and 4-O-methyl-D-glucuronic acid with a small fraction of proteins, is a multifunctional ingredient known for its emulsifying activity, attributed to its amphiphilic nature. Its effectiveness as an emulsifier stems from its high water solubility, low-viscosity, good surface activity, and ability to form a protective film around emulsion droplets. AGS in Sudan play crucial ecological roles by providing fodder, firewood, gums, and soil erosion control, which are essential for gum arabic production. Sudan’s diverse biodiversity hosts many plant species traditionally used for medicinal purposes, with extensive knowledge of medicinal plant species stemming from their widespread use among different ethnic groups. This study highlights the importance of optimizing the extraction of secondary metabolites from AGS for industrial applications, and the significance of AGS in Sudan’s ecological balance and economic stability

Reliability trade-space exploration modelling for satellite anomalies using exponential distribution

    No full text
The delivery of critical communication, navigation, and earth observation services relies on the reliability of satellite subsystems. However, satellites can be affected by radiation and temperature extremes. Anomalies can cause the system to fail and stop working. This research aims to fix the lack of a high-performance reliability model compared to previous work by integrating trade-space exploration (TSE) techniques and an exponential reliability mathematical model. Data from the Seradata database was analyzed using MATLAB to check for issues with antennas, transponders, amplifiers, and batteries as the prominent components of satellite anomalies. Studies were carried out by building parametric (Weibull, Exponential, and Poisson) and non-parametric (Kaplan-Meier and Monte Carlo Simulation) models, and all were assessed. Results were measured using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), revealing that the Exponential model performed most accurately compared to other mathematical models. After that, the TSE framework was applied to examine the Design Dependent Parameters (DDPs): reliability, design life, and system performance. The results conclude that the newly developed exponential-based reliability TSE model shows a promising outcome, with RMSE values of 34.2, 10.2, 19.6, and 19.9 compared to Nadirah’s model and Shazana’s model, which have RMSE values of 16.1, 49.7, 28.2, and 27.6 for antenna, transponder, amplifier, and battery, respectively

From observers to authors: GGI solidifies Asian Century

For decades, a handful of powers dictated the terms of global trade, security and development, often under the banner of multilateralism but in practice resorting to hierarchy and coercion. Disillusioned with this Western-dominated order, more in the world are finding a new vision proposed by China

Determinants of consumers’ intention to use mobile commerce: DeLone and McLean perspective

    No full text
ABSTRACT In the last few decades, substantial progress was seen in mobile commerce development. Although the Internet and smartphones have become more widely used in Malaysia, mobile commerce acceptance is still low. The current study investigates the determinants of intention to use mobile commerce among consumers in Malaysia. Additionally, this study aims at proposing a conceptual framework that emphasizes the impact of information quality, system quality, and service quality on consumer intentions to use mobile commerce in Malaysia. The DeLone and McLean Updated Information System Success Model (ISSM) Theory is the theoretical background of this study's proposed model. Mobile commerce providers must create user-friendly websites, applications, and platforms; they must also provide valuable information regarding their offerings, and provide high service quality to mobile commerce users to build a favourable intention to use mobile commerce in Malaysia. The primary contribution of this research is the conception of a model to examine the determinants of consumer intention to use mobile commerce in Malaysia. This research provides practical insights for mobile commerce service providers, enhancing their understanding of the determinants affecting consumer intention to use mobile commerce. This study will benefit academicians, scholars, students, providers, mobile marketing practitioners, and all industry stakeholders. Since this paper is conceptual, it necessitates empirical investigation to validate the proposed model of this study; thus, additional research is recommended

Ethical design workshop inspires young minds from SMK Bukit Kuching Tengah

    No full text
A total of 86 participants, including students and teachers from SMK Bukit Kuching Tengah, visited the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) to take part in an engaging Ethical Design Workshop on 16 July 2025 (Wednesday) held at KICT Multipurpose Hall (MPH). The programme was designed to address two key challenges faced by the school (which were identified earlier) — students’ low motivation to attend school and the lack of ethical awareness in creative and technological design. The workshop aimed to help students become more interested in learning again and to show them that being creative also means being responsible and caring. It encouraged students to understand how knowledge, ethics, and innovation can work together to make a positive difference in their communit
