No full textThis article is the second part of a study in the scope of comparative analysis of the two concepts of anthropological mercy: the religious, in the mystical sense, concept of Faustina Kowalska (Diary) and the ethical-religious, in the reflective sense, concept of Joseph Tischner. This article concerns the anthropological mercy in the approach of Tischner. The general similarities between this two concepts in religious dimension allow us to consider them from the perspective of one problem: the interaction between ethics and religion. The problem is studied on the basis of ontological (theo-)anthropology (a person is studied from the perspective of the possibility and obligation of being self). The purpose of the analysis is a justification for the thesis that the interaction between ethics and religion is based on a metaphysical factor. This purpose is achieved by demonstrating that the ethical-religious anthropological mercy in the philosophical approach of Tischner has a metaphysical basis and essence – and that in these metaphysical terms one can define the phenomena of the religious anthropological mercy depicted in the Diary.Artykuł stanowi drugą część studium poświęconego analizie porównawczej dwu wizji miłosierdzia antropologicznego: religijnej o charakterze mistycznym – ukazanej w Dzienniczku Faustyny Kowalskiej i etyczno-religijnej o charakterze refleksyjnym – zawartej w myśli filozoficznej Józefa Tischnera. Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na analizie wizji miłosierdzia antropologicznego w ujęciu Tischnera. Ogólna zgodność badanych wizji w aspekcie religijnym pozwala badać je z perspektywy jednego problemu: wzajemnego oddziaływania etyki i religii. Problem jest podejmowany na gruncie (teo-)antropologii ontologicznej (bada człowieka od strony możliwości i powinności bycia sobą). Cel analiz to uzasadnienie tezy, że wzajemne oddziaływanie etyki i religii jest możliwe przy założeniu czynnika metafizycznego. Cel ten osiąga się poprzez pokazanie, że etyczno-religijne miłosierdzie antropologiczne w rozumieniu Tischnera ma metafizyczne podstawy oraz istotę i że w ich pojęciach można określać zjawiska religijnego miłosierdzia antropologicznego ukazanego w Dzienniczku
Between an Object and a Person: an Inverted Image / Icon
No full textRelations between persons in the contemporary world often resemble those of the same persons towards objects. We are accustomed to ‘use’ – and even see – others as if they are, to put it in Kantian terms, merely a means to an end, and not as if they are an end in themselves. Such blurring of lines between objects and persons surely has significant moral and political consequences. However, in this paper I reach instead for a very traditional example and suggest it as a possible model for understanding these contemporary issues. I’d like to offer an analysis of icons, with regard to the concepts of latreia (worship) and proskynesis (devotion), developed and discussed in the Byzantine empire during the era of iconoclasm. By revisiting this old quarrel, I wish to invert the issue of persons becoming (like) objects, since in the case of the icons the question is whether an object can and should be treated as a person. Such an inverted image could, in my opinion, offer us a new perspective on contemporary intersubjective relations and present us with a double optic, which can teach us to distinguish between esteem for objects and respect for persons.Relations between persons in the contemporary world often resemble those of the same persons towards objects. No full textAn interesting phenomenon is the widely understood, from the Protestant trend, the activity of charismatic movements and people, who refer to God’s Spirit as the source of the origin of unusual gifts. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, many “charismatic” phenomena appeared, which became the basis for the idea and development of the so-called pentecostal movements.The article focuses primarily on the thematic ordering of “charismatic” behaviors and tendencies that have such a great impact, as well as their theological analysis and evaluation. Topics are related to sanctification and baptism in the Holy Spirit, prayer and healing, and the gift of tongues.Interesującym zjawiskiem jest szeroko pojęta z nurtu prostestanckiego działalność ruchów i osób charyzmatycznych, powołujących się na Bożego Ducha jako źródło pochodzenia niecodziennych darów. W wieku XIX i na początku XX pojawiło się wiele zjawisk „charyzmatycznych”, które stały się podstawą idei i rozwoju tzw. ruchów pentekostalnych.Autor artykułu koncentruje się przede wszystkim na uporządkowaniu tematycznym zachowań i tendencji „charyzmatycznych”, wywołujących tak wielkie oddziaływanie, oraz na ich teologicznej analizie i ocenie. The subject of this article focuses on the ways in which problems related to mental disorders are discussed in the Polish media. The purpose of this publication is to draw attention to the presence of issues related to mental disorders in Polish morning shows, on Instagram and YouTube. The difference between presenting the topic of depression or anxiety disorders in traditional media and in social media is huge. The content is supplemented by a survey conducted on a group of Internet users, which concerned their perception of the use of social media in disseminating reliable knowledge about mental disorders.Obecność tematyki zaburzeń psychicznych w polskich mediach. Temat artykułu skupia się wokół sposobów poruszania problemów związanych z zaburzeniami psychicznymi w polskich mediach. Celem niniejszej publikacji jest zwrócenie uwagi na obecność zagadnień dotyczących zaburzeń psychicznych w polskich programach śniadaniowych, na serwerach Instagramu, jak i YouTubie. Różnica między przedstawianiem tematyki dotyczącej depresji bądź zaburzeń lękowych w mediach tradycyjnych i w mediach społecznościowych jest ogromna. In the wake of development of digital technologies there ought to be theoretical and practical reflection about its influence on human as well as numerous research concerning common application of new human relations to the virtual reality and cyberspace. Analysis is based on available related literature supplemented with web accessible articles.Niebezpieczeństwa wirtualizacji życia i wartości w cyberprzestrzeni. W niniejszych badaniach chcemy zwrócić uwagę na to, jak cyberprzestrzeń wraz ze swoimi aplikacjami stała się generatorem procesów wirtualizacji i cyfryzacji społeczeństwa, tworząc nową jakość tej przestrzeni. Zanurzenie w przestrzeni cyfrowej nie jest procesem jednorodnym, ale raczej platformą wyrażającą wiele procesów i przemian. Zmiany te dotyczą prawie każdej sfery życia człowieka, sfery prywatnej i publicznej, kulturalnej, religijnej, wychowawczej, ekonomicznej, politycznej. No full textContemporary ethical challenges in the man-machine relationship, shown in the Westworld series. The possibilities of new technologies represent a considerable ethical challenge for the modern world. Particular emphasis is placed on the relationship between both human and machine. The Westworld series is an example of a current media tool showing a futuristic vision of the existence of a world consisting not only of people, but also robots, resembling to an illusion of man. The production presents a spectrum of ethical threats and moral dilemmas shown in human ethos. A serial syntax for ethical reflection and moral judgment of the dystopian vision of the future and human actions. This article is an attempt to show the post-humanistic, technological reality, in the perspective and era of the realization of transhumanistic transformations and new perspectives, while evaluating the moral issues that accompany human existence. Moreover, the urgent need to reflect on the essence of the development of new technologies, on the human being who exists in them, and on the consequences of their ethical and existential nature, leads the mediators to find solutions to the above-mentioned problems, this is the attitude to human prototypes.Dziki zachód ludzkich żądz. Współczesne wyzwania etyczne w relacji człowiek – maszyna, ukazane w serialu Westworld. Możliwości nowych technologii stanowią spore wyzwanie etyczne dla współczesnego świata. Szczególnie mocno akcentowane są w relacji człowiek – maszyna, a co więcej w relacji maszyna – człowiek. Format serialowy Westworld to przykład aktualnego narzędzia medialnego ukazującego futurystyczną wizję istnienia świata, który składa się nie tylko z ludzi, ale z robotów przypominających do złudzenia człowieka. Produkcja ta przedstawia spektrum zagrożeń etycznych oraz dylematów moralnych ukazanych w ludzkim etosie. Serial skłania do etycznej refleksji oraz osądu moralnego dystopijnej wizji przyszłości oraz ludzkich działań. Artykuł ten to próba ukazania poshumanistycznej, technologicznej rzeczywistości w perspektywie i dobie realizacji transhumanisycztnych przemian oraz nowych perspektyw, przy równoczesnej ocenie problematyki moralnej towarzyszącej egzystencji ludzkiej. Ponadto usilna potrzeba refleksji nad istotą rozwoju nowych technologii, egzystującego w nich człowieka oraz konsekwencjami natury etycznej i egzystencjalnej, skłania medioznawców do odszukania rozwiązań powyższych problemów, tj. stosunku do prototypów człowieka

Panegyric works and their connection with the Kyiv monasteries in the context of the relations between the Hetmanate and the Moscow kingdom in the early 18th century
No full textPanegyric works and their connection with the Kyiv monasteries in the context of the relations between the Hetmanate and the Moscow kingdom in the early 18th century. The eulogies which are dedicated to Prince Alexander Menshikov and originate from the Kyiv monastery environment – in particular, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and the Kyiv Brotherhood Monastery are discussed and compared in the article. The circumstances of the origin of these works, the peculiarities and motivation of the dedications, rhetorical figures and their significance in the respective historical and political context have also been analysed. Panegyrics were inscribed in the paradigm of Ukrainian-Russian relations in the early 18th century.
