Women in war. Economic mobilization course, 1948-1949.
Efficient organization and coordination was sadly lacking in the agencies interested in employment of women in the last war. This situation was probably due, to a large extent, to the fact that the use of womanpower to the utmost was never required. In any event, it is a situation that probably could not be tolerated in the event of another war in the immediate future. The reserve manpower pool is alarmingly low at the present time, and the situation is not likely to change radically in the near future. Steps must be taken to prepare plans for full utilization of women both in industry and the Armed Forces. This report, based on considerable research and advice from experts in the field, examines in much detail the experiences previous to and during the last war. Recommendations are made with the hope that they will be effective in helping to solve problems involved in the use of women in civil defense, in industry, and in the Armed Forces in the event of an emergency

News from the CTC: Where did I put that? Knowledge management at company and battalion.
This article is intended for all units conducting home station training to prepare themselves for a combat training center (CTC) rotation. The author discusses a recurring trend at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) that one of the more significant debates during JRTC rotations seems to be the challenge of analog versus digital products. While each method has its own merits, each presents its own challenges as it relates to KM. Thus, each method should have associated techniques for ensuring effective knowledge flow to higher, subordinate, and adjacent headquarters
