Allard, Emilien
No full textEmilien Allard (June 12, 1915- November 18, 1976) was a carillonneur and composer. He graduated from the Royal Carillon School (Mechelen, Belgium) in 1948, after studying under Staf Nees (1901-1965) and Jef van Hoof (1886-1959). From 1948 to 1949, he studied at the Conservatoire de Paris (National Conservatory of Paris). From 1956 through 1975, he was the carillonneur at St. Joseph’s Oratory (Montreal, Quebec, Canada). In 1958, he won the International Carillonneurs’ Prize at Mechelen during the Brussels World Fair. He joined the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in 1959. From 1975 through 1976, he was the Dominion Carillonneur at the Peace Tower, Houses of Parliament (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)
Bergink, Herman
No full textHerman Bergink (1924-1997) was born in Enschede, Netherlands. He studied organ and choir at the Utrecht Conservatory of Music. He studied carillon with Leen‘t Hart at the Netherlands Carillon School (Amersfoort, Netherlands/see AACF NLAF Ne). He moved to Canada in 1957 and became British Columbia’s Provincial Carillonneur in 1968. He was a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America
