Bigelow, Arthur Lynds
No full textArthur Lynds Bigelow (1910-1967) was a carillonneur. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. He studied engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1930, he studied at the Royal Carillon School (Mechelen, Belgium). Bigelow was University Bellmaster at Princeton University (New Jersey, United States). Bigelow also consulted on the design and installation of carillons. He provided bells and keyboards for several carillons and chimes located in the United States. Some of the bells he cast himself and some he obtained from the Paccard Fonderie de Cloches (Annecy, France). Bells that Bigelow cast himself may be found in the instruments at Princeton University (New Jersey), the Miraculous Medal Shine (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), and the House of Hope Presbyterian Church (Saint Paul, Minnesota)

She studied carillon at the University of Michigan with Percival Price (1901-1985). Buchanan became a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) in 1956. She has edited and compiled numerous books of music for publication. She has been carillonneur of Christ Church Cranbrook (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, United States), Belmont University (Nashville, Tennessee, United States), and Carillon Beach (Panama City Beach, Florida, United States)

Marriott at Kirk in the Hills (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, United States) and with Margo Halstead at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States). He is a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America and the World Carillon Federation. He consults on carillon installations and restorations. No full textJef Denyn (Josef Denijn) (1862-1941) was born in Mechelen, Belgium. His father, Adolf Denyn, was the City Carillonneur of Mechelen. In 1887, Jef Denyn became the City Carillonneur of Mechelen. In 1922, he founded the Royal Carillon School “Jef Denyn” (Mechelen, Belgium). He was director of the school until his death in 1941. He served as an advisor on many carillon installations and renovations. He published technical works about the carillon and determined the measurements of the “standard console.” He also composed music for the carillon
Fackenthal, James
No full textJames Fackenthal is a musician and scientific consultant. He began studying the carillon in 1984 at the University of Rochester (Rochester, New York) under the tutelage of David Caldwell. He became a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) at the Carillonneur level in 1986. From 1994-2015, Fackenthal was the assistant carillonneur at the University of Chicago. He now he plays at Saint Chrysostom's Episcopal Church (Chicago, Illinois) as well as at Moser Tower (Naperville, Illinois)

No full textTimothy Hurd (1952- ) is a carillonneur, composer, and musicologist. He studied carillon with Peter Bakker and Leen‘t Hart at The Netherlands Carillon School (Amersfoort, Netherlands). He spent two years as a Carillon Scholar at Bok Tower Gardens (Lake Wales, Florida, United States). He also studied at the Catholic University (Leuven, Belgium), the Royal Conservatory in Brussels (Belgium), and at the Royal Carillon School (Mechelen, Belgium) with Jef Rottiers and Piet van den Broek. He taught at the Scandinavian Carillon School (Logumkloster, Denmark). He is the National Carillonist of New Zealand and is carillonneur of the National War Memorial (Wellington, North Island, New Zealand). He received the Queen’s Service Medal (QSM) for services to music in 1994. Along with his brother Peter Hurd, he owns Olympic Carillon Engineering (Port Townsend, Washington, United States)

She attended the Royal Carillon School (Mechelen, Belgium) and was one of the first four women to graduate with their final diploma. Nora Johnston gave many performances on her portable carillon, and gave the occasional guest performance on a traditional carillon
