On Norms of Ideals and their Properties in Banach Spaces
Basic properties of the general Banach Operator Ideal such as Finitiness of rank operators,\ud
Compactness and Weakly Compactness of Operators and Separable Reflexive spaces can be\ud
defined in terms of an annihilator being the kernel of a contractive projection in its dual space.\ud
Further, special classes of ideals such as m-ideals, u-ideals and h-ideals and their hereditary\ud
properties have been discussed. A generalization of these basic Banach operator ideal\ud
properties has not been fully exploited. In this we discuss more generalized version of these\ud
basic properties by means of Pietsch Operator Ideal Theory and Techniques. Here, by suitable\ud
method of renorming of spaces of operators, the ideal properties of a subspace of compact\ud
operators are proved for arbitrary Banach spaces. By considering the properties of a Banach\ud
Space Operator Ideal in terms of compact approximation properties and separable reflexive\ud
spaces, we apply these results on a subclass of bounded linear operators to characterize Banach\ud
spaces X (an Y) such that the compact operator space is a u-ideal. The approach of the study of\ud
properties of ideals using these techniques contributes to a better understanding of the\ud
structure of ideals in Banach spaces. However, ideal properties on other vector valued spaces\ud
apart from the Banach spaces can be considered for future research
