    This video titled, Maker Hub with Sarah Hernnenkamp, was recorded on December 4, 2017. Hernnenkamp, Elon University Class of 2018, spoke on how the Maker Hub assisted her in her academic interests. She is a computer engineering major with a music technology minor. She made a guitar in 72 hours in the Maker Hub. She played the guitar in the video. In this video, Dan Reis can be seen talking with Elon students.

    This video titled, Maker Hub with Eric Bauer, occurred on December 4, 2017. Bauer spoke on how Maker Hub was an asset for his anatomy classes for learning medicine and cadavers to study outside of lab time. The students are also learning about the 3-D side of cadaver bones. The students are learning to be creators of the anatomy content. Bauer was the biology and anatomy professor for Elon.

    This video titled, 1989 Time Capsule, depicts the placement of a box that contained Elon College artifacts from the past.  Richard McBride stated that the box will be placed on the 2nd floor of the Moseley Center for 100 years.  He stated that the box contained items that looked back to Elon’s beginnings. He said, “The college is looking ahead to those who will come in the future…sending them our best wishes…pledging that we ourselves were doing the best… that we are here make of this place an honored institution and we are looking backward to those who labored many years…loyalty, without very much money and brought Elon along to the place that it is today…” Philip Carret was in attendance celebrating his 100th birthday. Carret placed the box into the Moseley Center wall with a plaque.  The plaque read, “Elon College Centennial Time Capsule, May 4, 1989, placed October 24, 1996. Cake and punch was served on the first floor of the Moseley Center after the placement of the time capsule box. People seen included: Susan Klopman, Gerald Whittington, John Barnhill, Nelson Gunn, Pam Brumbaugh, John Burbridge, Thomas Erdmann, Carol Oakley, and Rhonda Belton.

    This video, titled, Experience Elon University, was narrated by Leo M. Lambert in April 2013. The visuals showed students in maroon caps and gowns during various stages of Commencement day. Lambert stated, “Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen. You look brilliant. The big day is here and congratulations. You look brilliant, just shining lights. I am really proud of each and every one of you. Congratulations.” 00:00:31 President Lambert is seated at his presidential desk with the half-moon windows letting light into his office. Lambert continued to state, “Next to raising my own children, I can’t think of a greater privilege than to be a president of a university like this. Of course, this is a place where you are going to come and earn a degree. … How are you going to use that degree to make the world a better place?” Visuals included, Lambert mingling with students at College Coffee and interiors of the third floor of Belk Library. Brenna Humphries, Class of 2013, stated, “For me a higher education is an opportunity to better myself and prepare myself for the world. The world is bigger than just ELON or bigger than just the state of North Carolina, but there is so much more out there for me to reach and touch. My purpose and meaning for life really is to reach out beyond myself.”  00:01:22 Natalie Lampert, Class of 2013, stated, “I remember flying on the plane from Germany, having no idea what this was going to be like. I knew I had four years to do something.” 00:01:28 Eugen Daniel, Class of 2013, stated, “I came in with just excitement and this curiosity of what I was going to be doing. I had no idea this was going to work out, but it did.” 00:01:45 Professor Ken Hassell stated, “I think of myself always as a kind of student – someone who’s always in the process of learning. However, as long as I’ve been doing this work, which is thirty years, I think it’s generally a curiosity about things, whether it’s visual, intellectual, or just curious about the things around you and not taking them for granted.” 00:02:00 Professor Kathy Matera stated, “The standard response is you want to help educate the people coming up through the ranks. But I mostly just want to introduce students to all the ways that we can explain so much of the phenomenon that happens around us in our world.” 00:02:15 Professor Kenn Gaither stated, “When you can tell something has really taken hold, it’s not just the eyes lighting up, but it also comes through in what they say and how they say it, and that’s what makes us want to be teachers.” 00:02:28 Amanda Clark, Class of 2013, stated, “When everything falls in place, and those one out of a hundred times that something actually works right, it’s really exciting and it gives you the energy you need to continue and keep pushing for it.” Some other names who spoke included: Professor Claudine Moreau, Professor Tina Das, Phil Smith, and John Roman. Other visuals included very happy families and friends Under the Oaks at Commencement. Courtney Mosley, Class of 2013, spoke of what teaching means to her as a student. Marlee Belmonte, Class of 2013, spoke of majoring in Fine Art. 00:04:53 Jay Light, Class of 2013, sat on the Studio A News set (2004-2010 built by Beaver Construction Company, Graham, North Carolina) and spoke of making people laugh for his career. Patrick Clanton, Class of 2013 spoke of what how what you are doing means something. Video shots included the Elon Phoenix football team practices and exercises. Philip Nemec, Class of 2013, spoke of the patience needed to conquer success as he played tennis. More visuals can be seen of students playing sports, exercising, and rowing. Ashley Jobe, Class of 2013, stated, “There is no room to doubt yourself at Elon because you create an Elon family, and your family are your best friends.” Chase Gotwald, Class of 2013, stated that he knew he would find friends, and upon graduation he would miss having everyone right there all the time. 00:07:02 Don Grady was calling out names for their Commencement diplomas with a variety of graduation video shots. 00:08:11 Eugenia Perry, Class of 2013, stated, “I always felt as an outsider and I just finally feel as though I can be me. In this particular video, there were lower third fonts for all the narration in the piece. The video was created by Elon students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Hart teaches scenic design & in performing arts. She and her students used the Maker Hub to work with the new technologies to create designs for the theatre. Hart’s mission is to colonize the Maker Hub with artists.

This video explored the five Elon Experiences (Leadership, Study Abroad, Service, Undergraduate Research, and Internships) with students and faculty telling their engaged stories.  Leo M. Lambert, President, stated that Elon values “community.” 00:04:06 Connie Ledoux Book said, “We think the combination of professional experience and interest and love of academics results in the kind of faculty member that creates a vibrant community that stays alive and consistently changing and engaging students with important questions.” Steven House spoke of experimental learning.     This video titled, Leaders of the Twenty-First Century: Thank you, was an annual celebration that honored outstanding fellows and scholars, providing them with the opportunity to share details of their work with their faculty members, peers, and families prior to Commencement. In this particular video, The Class of 2018 entered Elon University in August of 2014. The Fellows and Scholars all thanked their parents, families, and the Elon community friends for allowing them to attend Elon University. They stated that Elon University was their family.     This video titled, Dalton L. McMichael Sr., Science Center Dedication, occurred on April 6, 1999 at Elon College. Faculty, staff, and students overlooked on the curved stairwell to witness the dedication in the Richard and Gail Drew lobby. People seen mingling in the area prior to the event were Richard M. McBride, Former President J. Fred Young, President Leo M. Lambert, Dalton L. McMichael Sr., Gail Drew, and many others. 00:08:12 McBride provided the Invocation. He stated, “I see that many of you have made it to the third tier of heaven.” Lambert waved to the stairwell of people. 00:08:28 McBride spoke of a St. Patrick prayer for the McMichael Science Center. 00:11:02 The Welcome was presented by Edmund Gant, Elon College Trustee. 00:12:13 The Tribute to Dalton L. McMichael Sr., was presented by J. Fred Young, Elon College President, (1973-1998). Young joked that he was late deliberately because President Lambert was doing everything so well (as the new Elon President) and the only way that he would look bad is if he (Young) got there late. Young spoke of his first three months of retirement. He spoke of McMichael as a friend and philanthropist. 00:21:07 The Acceptance of Gift was presented by President Leo M. Lambert. Lambert spoke of the 81 thousand square feet of space and the new Physical Therapy program. 00:22:42 Lambert dedicated the building with McMichael standing next to him. 00:24:24 McMichael spoke at the podium. McMichael was the father of Trustee Gail Drew. 00:26:51 The closing remarks were made by Gant.
