Heavy metals contamination in vegetables and natural remedies
The study described below was carried out to understand how the heavy metals present in the environment can end up in the human body trough vegetables meals. It was carried out on products of vegetable origin as they are at the base of the food chain, both for human and animal, and therefore represent the starting point of the trophic chain and the major factor of contamination for all those who eat it. Furthermore, with the advent of new vegetarian and vegan food cultures, humans are even more exposed to ingesting large quantities of heavy metals through vegetables. This study’s objective is to find the most valid and effective NATURAL remedies for reducing concentrations of heavy metals in humans, focusing on the importance of consuming local and seasonal products

Sex predetermination in mammals
This paper is aiming at emphasizing the advantages of both sex predetermination in mammals and the objectives which can be reached. After a short excursus on the applicability of this procedure on the spermatozoa of some domestic species (mainly on the basis of their DNA content), I will briefly explain the technique of sexing as well as its effects on the fertilizing ability of spermatozoa (also after long term storage by freezing). The different ways of utilizing sexed spermatozoa will be also mentioned, especially considering the difficulty to obtain high amounts of them and the consequent necessity to set up techniques of fertilization different from the traditional artificial insemination. At the end, the conditions necessary for an application on a large scale of the sperm sorting technology will be discussed
Alterations of lumbar lordosis: proposal of a method of evaluation and classification
This research aims to propose an innovative method to evaluate the lumbar lordotic curve and to improve the classification of lumbosacral spine changes compared to previous methods that measured the lumbar curve exclusively through the L1-S1 Angle. The new evaluation approach involves the measurement of the lumbar lordotic curve by means of angles detected with modern programs for displaying instrumental diagnostic images. The three new angles proposed aremeasured by viewing the images of the sagittal vision examinations and are intended to divide the lumbar lordosis into three parts. The study analyzed 245 examinations of patients of both sexes with low back pain and radiculopathy in the lower limbs. From the results it emerges that only 7% of the sample had a physiological curve and in 93% of the cases the curve was altered. The types of lumbar lordosis have been distinguished on the basis of the altered lumbar segments. From the new method it has emerged that in order to specify more adequately if the lumbar lordotic curve is hyper or hypolordotic, detailed analysis of the lumbar levels through measurement is necessary of the three proposed angles
Relationship between alteration of kyphotic and lordotic curves of the spine and metabolic syndromes: a preliminary study
The research concerns the relationship between the alterations of the kyphotic and lordotic curves of the vertebral column and the metabolic alterations that have been noted to be associated with them. The objective was to propose a simple, precise and reliable diagnostic procedure that could allow us to frame the patient's pathological picture starting from the clinical examination. The observation of a possible correlation between the alterations of the vertebral column, in its kyphotic and lordotic traits, and the modification of the metabolism of sugars, is supported by the following tests: glycemic curve and insulinemic curve; DXA exam, for fat mass and lean mass, B.M.I. (Body Mass Index) and the percentage distribution of body fat; NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance), examination of instrumental diagnosis. The correlation between particular objective examination, instrumental and laboratory investigations allows to support the possible interaction between mechanical alterations of the spine and metabolic syndromes
Association between fibromyalgic syndromes and metabolic syndromes
This study aims to support the correlation between fibromyalgic syndromes and alterations of sugar metabolism. In thirty patients of the female gender, subjected to a visit for chronic pain in the spine, it was shown that the symptomatology was not due to physical alterations of the column, such as discopathies, hernias, etc., but to inflammations in different districts of the body. In 30/30 of the subjects examined there was pain on acupressure of specific tendons and ligaments, metabolic problems, excess weight, chronic fatigue and alterations of humor. The suspicion of the association between fibromyalgia and metabolic syndromes has been demonstrated on the basis of clinical symptoms, polymyalgia, alteration of sugar metabolism, together with related anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue
