Ethnic Mentality and World Language Mapping
In the article, the ethnic mentality and world language mapping problem are analysed. The study attempts to substantiate this process from a theoretical point of view. Descriptive-comparative and empirical methods of scientific analysis were used. It is necessary to know the cultural heritage and traditions of the country for the correct transfer of the meaning of the equivalent vocabulary of a specific language. In this study, an attempt was made to outline the starting points for solving the problem of transferring the cultural background and colour of culture when translating it into other languages. Solving problems related to the translation of artistic vocabulary requires considering the entire complexity of the translated original and the means of the language into which it is translated. With the correct identification and accurate reflection of the cultural features of the text, the national colour can be accurately conveyed. However, the cultural component always remains the main difficulty in translation

The Strategies of Service Delivery Adopted by Private Security Firms in Crime Prevention in Nairobi County, Kenya
National security is vital for achieving social, economic and political objectives. Given these critical aspects of security, a country across the globe can only satisfy the security need with support from other participants, such as the community and by partnering with private security firms. With the particular requirement and level of training that PSFs offer their personnel, a partnership of police and PSFs in crime detection and prevention is critical in providing security across the Country. This study sought to establish the service delivery strategies adopted by private security firms in dealing with crime. This study was modelled by the resource-based view theory s that offered a discernment of what options the private security firms present in addressing the diverse challenges emanating from ineffective strategic decisions in service delivery. A descriptive survey research design employing mixed methods approach in data collection was utilized to undertake the study. The target population constituted managers, supervisors, clients, and private security guards drawn from a sorted group of private security firms in Nairobi County. A multistage sampling approach employing clustering, proportionate random sampling and purposive sampling were used to obtain a sample size of 90 respondents. Questionnaires and interview guides were the main tools of data collection. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in tables and charts. Qualitative data was presented in quotes and analyzed thematically. The data findings showed that guarding and collaboration strategies were the main strategies of the PSFs. Based on the results, the study recommended implementing government policy and legislation on collaboration between security agencies and PSFs for effective service delivery, implementing an oversight control agency to check on professionalism and adopting modern and innovative technology by PSFs for effective crime prevention

Determination of Gold Nanoparticle Sizes from Their Plasmon Resonance within the Optical Spectrum
Nanoparticles have exciting properties that can be tailored by altering their size, density and shape. Several essential properties of the nanoparticles have been investigated for various applications. One such property strongly affected by the nanoparticle size is localised surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). The resonance from metal nanoparticles has been used in dye-sensitised solar cells to improve their performance. In this work, the dependence of plasmonic properties on the nanoparticle sizes is shown. The gold nanoparticles were prepared using a reduction process where the hydrogen tetrachloroaurate acid was used as the base gold salt and reduced by sodium citrate composed at different molarity ranging from 0.015 to 0.035 mol/L. The method produces monodispersed nanoparticles whose sizes are sensitive to the concentration of chemicals used and the completeness of the reduction process. The process took approximately 18 minutes, and the colour changed from pale yellow to wine red. The absorbance of resulting gold nanoparticles was determined using a UV Vis spectrophotometer within 300 nm to 800 nm. The LSPR peaks were found to occur within 518 nm to 520 nm, and from a Gaussian fit, the FWHM ranged from 45.5 to 51.0 nm. The absorption peaks had a narrow range of 14 nm over sodium citrate's molarity content. A high molarity concentration of 0.035 mol/L produced a small particle with a diameter of 17 nm, while a low concentration of 0.015 mol/L produced a size of 26 nm. The interaction of electrons in the specific orbitals, sp- and d- of nanoparticles exhibited pronounced multiple resonances with a reduction of nanoparticle sizes
Governance and Economic Development in West Africa: Linking Governance with Economic Misery
In this study, we explored how governance could influence economic misery. Consideration is made of 16 West African countries from 2005 through 2020. The governance indicators used in the study include voice and accountability; political stability and absence of violence/terrorism; government effectiveness; regulatory quality; the rule of law; and control of corruption. Barro's misery index was computed and used in this study. The analysis used the pooled ordinary least squares (OLS), fixed and random effect models, and the Granger causality test. The Granger causality test indicated that unidirectional causality runs from government effectiveness, political stability and absence of violence/terrorism, and regulatory quality to economic misery. For the pooled OLS, only voice and accountability aided in reducing economic pain in a significant manner, while the rule of law aggravated financial distress. In the Fixed effect model, none of the governance indicators could significantly influence economic misery, while in the Random effect model, voice and accountability with regulatory quality significantly reduced financial discomfort. Government effectiveness has not in any way exerted a significant influence on economic misery within the study period. Other variables that substantially influenced economic distress within West Africa were trade liberalisation and credit to the private sector, as they both significantly reduced economic misery. The weak governance indicators show poor institutional quality intensifies economic pain within the West African region
