This study aims to determine relevant aspects for understanding and developing the role of the school committee in improving the quality of basic education at Cakranegara 2 Public School, Cakranegara 14 Public Elementary School and Tamping Public Elementary School, with sub-focuses including the role of school committees in improving the quality of basic education, factors that influence the effectiveness of school committees, good practices involving school committees in improving the quality of education, and the interaction of school committees to achieve set goals. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study type. Data were collected using interviews, observation, and documentation methods using primary and secondary data sources. Data analysis techniques use an interactive model of data collection, condensation, presentation, and conclusion. At the same time, the validity of the data will be examined using the triangulation of sources and methods used. The research findings show that the school committee is important in decision-making, supervision, and fundraising to support educational activities. However, the effectiveness of the school committee is influenced by factors such as the level of parental involvement, support from the school, and communication between the school committee and stakeholders at other levels. This study also found that best practices involving school committees can significantly improve the quality of basic education in the schools studied
Языковые лакуны и методы их устранения в межкультурном диалоге
The article considers lacunas - basic elements of the national specificity of a linguocultural community, represented in a foreign language text or actualized in direct intercultural communication. Lacunarity is understood as a discrepancy between the languages and cultures being compared, and the consequence is the absence in one of the languages and cultures being compared of a phenomenon peculiar to the other language and culture. In a broad sense, a lacuna marks the national specificity of the compared cultural spaces and their speakers. In contrast, in a narrow sense, a lacuna means the absence of an equivalent lexical unit in the recipient's language. The compensation method to eliminate lacunas is chosen by choosing a quasi-equivalent from the 'native' culture, similar to the 'foreign' image in any foreign text. Eliminating (eliminating) lacunas is an attempt to 'pe-recode' foreign models with one's own or, on the contrary, with the means of contacting languages. Eliminating lacunas is carried out crosswise: 1) by methods of filling or 2) by compensation, and it is carried out depending on the socio-psychological mechanisms of inter-ethnic interaction (purposes of contact, cultural differences in the ethno-psycholinguistic profiles of communicators, diversity of communication styles) and the phenomenal-linguistic nature of lacunas.
Basic Rules of Communication Between a Doctor and a Patient
Communication between a doctor, other medical personnel, and a patient occupies a special place in the healthcare system. Each patient visit to a medical institution is accompanied by direct interaction with medical personnel, and communication with a doctor is particularly important.Communicative competence occupies one of the leading places in a doctor's professional activity. This is because the results of treatment, the patient's health, and life depend on the communication between the doctor and the patient, who are the main participants in communication in medicine
Nanostructure Materials for Energy Applications
Nanostructure materials have become essential in advancing energy technologies due to their distinctive features and superior performance. This work examines the synthesis, characterisation, and application of diverse nanostructure materials, such as titanium dioxide (TiO₂), silicon nanostructure, and carbon-based materials, in solar cells, lithium-ion batteries, and supercapacitors. Multiple synthesis processes, including sol-gel, hydrothermal, and chemical vapour deposition, are examined alongside characterisation methods like SEM, TEM, XRD, and BET analysis. The findings demonstrate significant improvements in energy conversion and storage efficiencies, highlighting the potential of these materials in renewable energy systems. Despite positive outcomes, challenges like scalability and long-term stability remain. This review emphasises the vital importance of nanostructured materials in future energy applications and suggests avenues for further research
Board of Directors Characteristics and Financial Reporting Quality of Selected Listed Manufacturing Firms in Nigeria
The study examines the influence of board characteristics on the financial reporting quality (FRQ) of selected listed manufacturing firms in Nigeria, addressing a critical area of corporate governance research. Using a quantitative ex-post-facto research design, the study analyses panel data from 20 listed manufacturing firms over 12 years, covering 2010 to 2021.Keyboard characteristics, including board size, independence, financial expertise, and diversity, are evaluated against financial reporting quality, measured using the modified Jones model for discretionary accruals. Diagnostic tests were conducted to ensure the reliability of the results, confirming the absence of multicollinearity (mean VIF = 1.11), heteroscedasticity and the appropriateness of the random-effects model through a Hausman test (p = 0.1534). The findings reveal that board size positively and significantly influences FRQ (r=0.2341), highlighting the role of larger boards in enhancing oversight and governance. Conversely, board independence (r = 0.0126) and board financial expertise ( r = − 0.0273) show no significant relationship with FRQ, challenging the assumption that these characteristics inherently improve financial reporting quality. Board diversity exhibits a weak yet significant positive correlation (r = 0.0877), suggesting that gender diversity contributes to governance but may require complementary mechanisms for greater impact. The study concludes that while some board attributes directly influence FRQ, others require strategic integration into governance practices to achieve meaningful improvements. These findings provide actionable insights for policymakers and corporate leaders seeking to strengthen governance and financial reporting practices in Nigeria.
Mapping Environmental Design Strategies for Preventing Crime and Terrorism for Crowded Urban Places in Nigeria
This study explores the potential of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) in enhancing the security of crowded places in Nigeria, where terrorist threats have posed significant challenges. While traditional security measures have focused on law enforcement and surveillance, CPTED presents a non-kinetic, design-based approach that modifies physical spaces to deter crime and improve public safety. This research addresses the gap in empirical studies, specifically examining the applicability of CPTED to counter-terrorism in Nigerian contexts. Using a qualitative research design, the study employs secondary data analysis from academic literature, government reports, and case studies combined with thematic analysis to assess CPTED's effectiveness. Findings indicate that CPTED principles such as natural surveillance, access control, and territoriality can be adapted to address the security needs of crowded Nigerian spaces, but local cultural and socio-economic factors must be considered for successful implementation. Practical implications include integrating CPTED with security strategies to create more resilient urban environments. The study recommends incorporating CPTED in Nigeria's national counter-terrorism policies and further research to explore context-specific adaptations of CPTED in various urban settings. This research contributes to the development of comprehensive counter-terrorism strategies, enhancing safety in vulnerable, high-traffic areas
In the Beginning: Chinese Cosmogonic Myths and Taoist Philosophy
The paper aims to analyse the Chinese cosmogonic myths, cosmogony, and cosmology elaborated by the ancient Chinese philosophers, particularly the representatives of Taoism. Chinese cosmogony and cosmology are most fully represented in philosophical texts, not mythological narratives. Chinese thinkers elaborated on the complex scheme of the emergence and development of the world. The source of the world's origin is not a transcendent external force. Just the opposite, this source is immanent and is based on the principle of constant changes. Chinese philosophers understood the universe as a continuous interaction of complementary forces. The interaction of complementary forces is the path of changes, i.e., the constant creation of the world and the flow of life processes. With special attention given to the Chinese Hundun myth and chaos-hundun concept, the author analyses "Tao Te Ching", "Zhuangzi", "Huaninanzi", and "Taijitu shuo"
The Stylistic Features Of "Winged Phrases" In The Works Of Walter Scott
The study of "winged expressions" enables the interdisciplinary integration of linguistics with anthropology, cultural history, sociology, psychology, philosophy, and other fields. In this context, it is essential to note that the research has an ethnolinguistic character. In light of the above, we examine the etymology of "winged phrases" by analysing the language used in the works of Walter Scott, a renowned English writer of Scottish origin who is regarded as the "founder of the historical novel genre" at the beginning of the XIX century. "Winged expressions" that have withstood the test of time and have been handed down from generation to generation as the most valuable heirlooms have retained their communicative and expressive richness. The study of "winged expressions" in languages with different systems is of interest in creating a correct and complete picture of the development of the language and its lexical-semantic system. The significance of translation is on the rise, parallel to the growing prevalence of foreign language study. The most challenging aspect of translation is the phraseological language. Winged expressions occupy a distinctive position among language units in translation. This is based on the fact that winged expressions are directly related to the ethnopsychology of each nation and serve as a benchmark

Analysis of Athlete Rights Fulfillment in the KONI Aceh Development Training Center, Indonesia
The Minister of Youth and Sports Regulation No 24 of 2017 regulates the fulfilment of athletes' rights concerning criteria and standards for developing talented prospective athletes and providing income and facilities to outstanding athletes and coaches. Therefore, it has become the obligation of institutions such as KONI Aceh, responsible for athlete development, to fulfil all rights Aceh Pelatda athletes possess. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation and execution of athletes' rights and the obstacles faced by Aceh regional training athletes in obtaining their rights by applicable regulations. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, employing research instruments such as interviews, observations, and documentary studies. The subjects in this study are 12 individuals, including representatives of the KONI Vice Chairman/Chairman of Pelatda Aceh, KONI Secretary, and two athletes from each of the five different branches, totalling ten individuals. The results show that aspects such as honorariums, accommodation, meals, additional food, travel expenses, and health check-up services have been well implemented in implementing athletes' rights fulfilment by KONI Aceh. However, some areas need improvement, such as drafting employment agreements between athletes and KONI Aceh, improving consumption management, and enhancing health services, especially in psychology. The obstacles athletes face, especially regarding legal uncertainty, are caused by the absence of written agreements between athletes and KONI Aceh. Athletes' perceptions of the fulfilment of rights provided by KONI Aceh tend to be positive, with athletes feeling satisfied with the rights provided. However, there is room for improvement in certain aspects. KONI Aceh is recommended to establish written agreements, revise athlete meal menus, and provide psychological services in addition to Pelatda athlete health services
