Notary's Responsibility for Dishonest Actions of One of the Parties In a Share Sale and Purchase Agreement: Study of Decision No 188 Pk/Pdt/2020

This study aims to analyse the Notary's responsibility for Notarial deeds made based on dishonest actions of one of the parties in a share sale and purchase agreement based on Decision No 188 Pk/Pdt/2020 and analyse the legal consequences of a notarial deed made based on dishonest actions of one of the parties in a share sale and purchase agreement. The research method employed is normative legal research, utilising a legislative approach, a conceptual approach, and a case-based approach. The results of the study indicate that the urgency of regulating policy regulations in the Administrative Law Notary's responsibility for Notarial deeds made based on dishonest actions of one of the parties in the share sale and purchase agreement based on Decision No 188 Pk/Pdt/2020 can be subject to several aspects of responsibility, namely civil responsibility, criminal responsibility and administrative responsibility. From the civil side, Notaries sued on the grounds of committing an unlawful act (PMH), as regulated in Article 1365 of the Civil Code. From an administrative perspective, a Notary violates the Code of Ethics of the Indonesian Notary Association when they draft a notarial deed based on the dishonest actions of one party in a share purchase agreement. In such cases, the law treats the deed as void from the outset because coercion renders the contract legally nonexistent, thereby nullifying it

Cell Signalling Pathways in Development and Disease: A Review

Cell signalling pathways represent fundamental molecular communication networks that orchestrate cellular functions in development and disease. This comprehensive review examines the intricate landscape of cell signalling mechanisms in Nigerian populations, revealing distinct genetic, environmental, and clinical characteristics that significantly influence pathway behaviours and disease manifestations.Through a systematic literature review, we analysed major signalling pathways, including Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (RTK), G-Protein-Coupled Receptor (GPCR), JAK-STAT, Wnt, Notch, and Hedgehog signalling, across both developmental and pathological contexts. Our investigation uncovered population-specific variations that profoundly impact disease susceptibility, progression, and treatment responses in Nigerian healthcare settings.Key findings demonstrate that Nigerian populations exhibit unique alterations in signalling pathways driven by genetic polymorphisms, endemic infectious disease exposures, and environmental factors. Developmental signalling mechanisms revealed distinctive patterns of embryonic development, neural patterning, and stem cell regulation. In disease contexts, significant molecular variations were observed in cancer, metabolic disorders, inflammatory conditions, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular disorders. The research highlights critical challenges in implementing signalling-targeted therapies, including infrastructure limitations, economic constraints, and regulatory complexities. Additionally, traditional Nigerian medicinal approaches offer promising complementary insights into the modulation of signalling pathways. This review establishes a comprehensive framework for understanding cell signalling pathways in Nigerian populations, emphasising the importance of contextually specific molecular research. The findings provide essential guidance for developing precision medicine approaches tailored to local genetic and environmental contexts, ultimately supporting more effective disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies

IoT-Enabled Plant Growth Prediction and Health Monitoring System Using Sensor Fusion and Machine Learning Techniques

The major challenges farmers face are predicting plant growth and identifying health problems before it is too late. The manual observations in old methods typically result in resource waste and erroneous predictions, damaging the ecosystem and crop production. Getting a dependable and automated system to mitigate the challenges is now more important than ever.Given this pressing need, this paper proposes a creative solution using environmental and plant-specific sensors to collect real-time data. Then, it will be analysed using simplified machine learning algorithms, specifically Random Forest Classifiers, to precisely forecast plant growth stages and Support Vector Machine (SVM) to detect potential health problems. After testing this on various plant types, the accuracy of growth prediction was approximately 92.5% and 95.2% while detecting the plant's health issues. This system optimises crop yields and reduces resource consumption while minimising environmental impact. Furthermore, the system is flexible and more suitable for diverse farming needs, including smart farming and managing greenhouses. This research enables the farmers to make informed decisions and cultivate a more sustainable future

This study investigates the effects of tax avoidance and evasion on personal income tax administration, focusing on their impact on revenue generation, administrative efficiency, and compliance. Data were collected from 175 Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) employees in Osun State using a survey design. Key findings revealed a significant positive correlation (r=0.506, p<0.05) between tax avoidance, evasion, and the challenges faced in tax administration. Regression analysis showed that 57.7% of the variability in personal income tax administration is explained by these practices (R² =0.577, F=118.76, p<0.05), emphasising that high tax rates encourage avoidance and evasion (B= 0.65, p<0.05). The study concludes that balanced tax policies, improved enforcement mechanisms, and taxpayer education are essential to curbing non-compliance and enhancing administrative efficiency.

An Assessment of the Management Practices in Nigeria Federal Teaching Hospitals and their Impact on Health Care Service Delivery

This article aims to assess the impact of the Management of Federal Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria on healthcare service delivery, using the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) as a case study. Two Hypotheses guided the work. The first is that the heavy reliance on the Paper Record Keeping System in Nigeria's Federal Teaching Hospitals affects patient treatment. The second is that the quality of leadership in the Federal Teaching hospitals affects the ability to provide consistent and effective radiography and laboratory services. Deming's Total Quality Theory was adopted to guide the study. Data for the study were collected from primary sources through semi-structured interviews. The data was analysed qualitatively, using logical deductions, simple frequency tables, and a Pie Chart. The Ex-post Facto Research Design was also adopted. The study's findings revealed that the heavy reliance on the paper-based record-keeping system had a significant impact on patient treatment, particularly in terms of missing laboratory test results, incomplete file documents, and delayed treatment, among other issues, during the period under review. Similarly, findings also showed that the nature of leadership in the hospital affected their inability to provide constant and effective radiography services to patients, especially concerning exerting adequate pressure on the government to provide funding, making judicious use of the funds available, having a good maintenance culture, and being responsive to the complaints of the units under study. Arising from the findings, it was recommended, among other things, that the Electronic Record System be adopted as a backup to the Paper Record System. It was also recommended that those in leadership positions in hospitals should be required to undergo periodic leadership training to enhance their leadership skills

Neurotherapeutic Potential Of Moringa Oleifera Leaves: A Review Of Preclinical Evidence From Rodent And Drosophila Melanogaster Ischemia Models

Ischemic stroke remains a leading cause of long-term disability globally, with locomotor deficits, gait asymmetry, and balance dysfunction posing significant challenges to functional recovery. Existing treatment strategies offer limited functional recovery, creating a need for complementary neurotherapeutic options. Moringa oleifera leaves are rich in bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and isothiocyanates, and have multifaceted neurotherapeutic properties. Preclinical studies in rodent and Drosophila melanogaster models show mechanisms through which Moringa oleifera leaves exert neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroplasticity-inducing effects. Moringa oleifera leaves have been shown to reduce infarct volume, improve neurobehavior, and modify acetylcholinesterase activity, all of which enhance motor recovery in the existing literature. Despite promising findings, most studies are limited by small sample sizes, reliance on pretreatment models, and a lack of human trials and standardised protocols. Critically, the absence of human clinical trials restricts immediate translational application. This review aims to guide future research to prioritise well-designed controlled studies to establish the efficacy, safety, and optimal dosing of Moringa oleifera leaves for neurotherapeutic potential in ischemic stroke patients.

Effect of Human Resource Development on Employee Retention And Organisational Growth: A Case Study Of Dangote Cement Plc

This study aims to investigate the significance of human resource development in job retention, job satisfaction, and overall organisational development, as observed in a survey conducted within a private sector company. Researchers employed a mixed-methods approach, collecting data through a self-report questionnaire and in-depth interviews. They selected 94 employees from key departments of Dangote Cement PLC, headquartered in Lagos, using a multi-stage sampling process. The results show that although experts universally recognise HR development initiatives as essential for workforce stability and performance, the organisation's implementation remains deficient. These include outdated training programs, disparities in access to learning propositions, and a lack of serious post-learning review. A chi-square test revealed a statistically significant relationship between participation in HRD programmes and self-reported changes in employee performance and commitment (p < 0.01). Qualitative information also raised issues regarding the relevance of programmes, equity in selection, and the lack of follow-ups. The conclusion of the study is that to serve the interest of Dangote Cement PLC in terms of competitiveness, there needs to be a systematic, participatory, and strategically focused linkage in human resource development. Among the recommendations are frequent reviews of the curriculum, open access to learning opportunities, and increased investment in employee development and career advancement systems
