The work was undertaken between 22nd and 25th May 2018. The site was originally part of an extensive complex of associated industrial buildings that extended from the railway to Arley Road in the east, and from Saltley Viaduct in the south to Aston Church Road in the north

The site comprises two adjacent groups of buildings identified as non-designated heritage assets and known as the Capitol Joinery Timber Yard and the Old Barn Guesthouse

No full textThis collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation at Chediston Street Halesworth, Suffolk. The works were conducted by Cotswold Archaeology between January and February 2021. Archaeological deposits ranging in date from the Early Neolithic through to the post medieval periods were identified. The amount of Roman CBM (Ceramic Building Material) recovered was sufficient to suggest the possibility of a building within the vicinity of this part of the site. The location of post -medieval field boundary ditches, shown on historic mapping, was confirmed. Likely contemporary extraction pits were also identified at the southern edge of the site, in the natural clay deposits on the higher ground

No full textThis collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation at The Old Guildhall, Hitcham, Suffolk. Works were conducted by Cotswold Archaeology in January 2021. Two similarly proportioned and aligned ditches were excavated in the base of the trench, probably representing elements of a field system or property boundaries. Although the finds assemblage was sparse, pottery, struck flint and heat-altered flint were all consistent with a prehistoric date

The work was undertaken by Connect Archaeology between 2019 and 2021. The Edgcote archive can be considered as part of the wider HS2 archive and as such has re-use value. The site has value on it's own as it identified two Romano-Britch agricultural settlements which may be worth further study. The evidence contributes to the corpus of such sites in Britain

No full textThis collection consists of a report, vector graphic, GIS and geophysics data from a geophysical survey by SUMO Geophysics. Work occured at Castle Donington Community College, Castle Donington, Leicestershire, in October 2024.The magnetometer survey has not recorded any magnetic responses that could be interpreted as being of definite archaeological interest except for ridge and furrow cultivation which is visible in Area 1. Two bands of increased response have been assigned to the category of uncertain, they are probably due to natural or modern processes. A former field boundary, a former trackway and a system of land drains are visible across the magnetic data. The route of a former service pipe has been marked in Area 2. Zones of magnetic disturbance and strong ferrous responses in the data have been caused by goal post foundations and a former cricket square. The sites historic use as an allotment garden and current use as a playing field have added to the magnetic noise

No full textThis collection consists of images, spreadsheets and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation and watching brief by Worcestershire Archaeology. Work occurred at Goldness House, Torton, Worcestershire in January 2023.Two trenches were excavated for the evaluation across areas of planned development. One trench revealed late -18th to early-19th century activity in the form of garden walls and drainage ditch. The second evaluation trench revealed natural features and a single possible posthole of post-medieval date. No structures, layers, deposits, horizons or artefacts were revealed predating the post-medieval period
