No full textThis collection comprises text documents, spreadsheets, images, and GIS data from Blank Area Testing undertaken by INFRA Archaeology on seven land parcels between Quainton and Brackley, Buckinghamshire, from November 2020 to February 2021. The investigation sought to assess "No-Data" land parcels with the aim of identifying evidence of early prehistoric and early medieval activity within topsoil and ploughsoil horizons. Artefact clusters, if present, were to be considered potential indicators of ephemeral archaeological evidence from these periods. No archaeological features or deposits were identified in any of the excavated test pits. Most artefacts recovered were discarded on-site, with only three pieces of worked flint retained. Two of these suggest Mesolithic or Early Neolithic activity, while the third is broadly dated to the prehistoric period

No full textThis collection comprises images from a Level 3 Analytical Historic Building Recording at Grove Farm, Harleston Road, Linstead Magna, Suffolk. The work was carried out by Cotswold Archaeology in January 2025. The recording pertains to a range of farm buildings located approximately 40 metres south of Grove Farmhouse, which consists of a threshing barn, granary, stables, and a double-sided cartlodge. Grove Farmhouse itself is understood to have been constructed between 1580 and 1600. Within the farm complex, the threshing barn, stables, and granary are all timber- framed structures and are also likely to date to this period. The threshing barn and granary are linked by a Victorian double-sided brick cartlodge

No full textThis collection comprises digital data from an archaeological landscape assessment at the Weir Estate, Swainshill, Herefordshire. This work was undertaken by the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust between November and December 2022. Amongst a range of possible archaeological assets, the survey identified two features considered to have high archaeological potential. One is a platform situated adjacent to the route of the Roman road that is in part linked to terraces identified in the Historic Environment Record as having possible Roman or prehistoric origins. The other is the potential remains of a mill building associated with the mill pond and 'Mill Orchard' field name located to the east of the Weir Farm. It is therefore recommended that further investigations be carried out prior to any intrusive activities undertaken within the site

No full textThis collection comprises images and a report from a trial trench evaluation on the land off Kilnhurst Road, Rawmarsh, South Yorkshire. This work was undertaken by Archaeological Services WYAS in July 2023. Field boundary ditches, plough furrows, and land drains identified during the works are the result of post-medieval agricultural activity. The trial trenching indicates that there is a low potential for archaeological remains to be found within the bounds of the proposed development area
