No full textThis collection consists of site images from an archaeological evaluation on land south west of Brook Farm, Brooks Road, Raunds, Northamptonshire. Works were carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) in September 2017. The two trenches excavated produced features of archaeological interest, including the possible remains of a wall and two shallow linear features. Pottery found in association with these features indicate a date range between the 12th and 15th century

No full textThis collection consists of images, site record data and a vector graphic from an archaeological evaluation by Cotswold Archaeology. Work occurred at land at the corner of Crown Street and Silver Street, Reading, Berkshire in February 2018. A single ditch was recorded in Trench 1 and post-medieval backfilled cellars were encountered in Trench 1 and 3. The corner of Crown Street and Silver Street has been constantly inhabited and redeveloped from the 1600's onwards, and therefore the likelihood that earlier archaeological potential may have survived such concentrated subsequent development is judged to be low

No full textThis collection comprises images, reports, and GIS data from a building survey conducted at the Fox and Grapes Public House, Birmingham, West Midlands, in 2018. Commissioned by LM-JV, COPA carried out historic building and setting recording in September 2018, prior to and during the demolition of the building. The survey included external photographic documentation on 11th and 13th September, a laser survey on 14th September, and a building recording watching brief during demolition on 16th September. The work followed the guidelines set out in the Recording and Works Method Statement as far as practicable.

No full textThis collection comprises images and a report from a Level 2 Descriptive Historic Building Recording at Cowbridge Road East and Lower Cathedral Road, Cardiff. The work was carried out by Cotswold Archaeology in March 2025. The historic building recording is necessary to make a permanent and accessible record of the buildings prior to demolition and a new development within the site. No building subject to recording is ap>designated historic asset. Nos. 59-65 Cowbridge Road East were constructed after 1881 and before 1891, probably as speculative developments within the rapid urban expansion of Cardiff during the late 19th and early 20th century. Built as four dwellings arranged in two semi-detached blocks, they were 'villas' detailed to appeal to the professional classes with provision for live-in servants. For much of the 20th century the buildings retained a residential function; though by c.1989 all were in a commercial use.The remaining buildings comprise a part of a residential terrace (2-8 Lower Cathedral Road) and a row fronting Cowbridge Road East (numbers 51-57). In all cases, the buildings were present by 1879

No full textThis collection consists of images, spreadsheets, databases and GIS data from a programme of archaeological investigation by Cotswold Archaeology. Work occurred at the Rugby Radio Station Link Road North and Central Primary School and Green Corridors sites, in April to August 2017 and September 2019. The earliest evidence for human activity was represented by several Mesolithic pits one of which was found to contain an assemblage of worked flints. Iron Age and Roman activity was found in most of the excavation areas and largely comprised enclosures of an agricultural nature. At least two circular structures of Middle Iron Age date were identified Early to Middle Anglo-Saxon settlement evidence was identified and comprised at least two sunken featured buildings
