Images from a Building Survey of York Street Wall, Manningtree, Essex, July 2020
This collection comprises images from a building survey of York Street Wall, Manningtree, Essex. This work was undertaken by Place Services at the Essex County Council in July 2020. The wall was built of reused bricks, paving bricks, clinker, and stone in a lime mortar. Panels of rubble and clinker with decorative brickwork were interspersed with brick piers. The clinker originated at the former Manningtree Gasworks which originally stood adjacent to the site. There were frequent examples of reused moulded stones in the wall's fabric, which may have originated at demolished ecclesiastical sites in nearby Mistley
Digital Archive from Archaeological Works at St. Michael's Rooms, Church Street, Framlingham, Suffolk, February-May 2022
This collection comprises images and GIS data from a programme of archaeological monitoring of groundworks associated with the demolition and replacement of the existing St. Michael's Rooms, Church Street, Framlingham, Suffolk. This work was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology between February and May 2022. The monitoring within the building footprint identified areas of archaeological interest, principally medieval ditches and pits. The depth of the trenches meant that the archaeological levels could not be accessed for detailed recording, but it was possible to identify a probable oven base and a charcoal rich layer, the two of which may be related, and from which 13th-14th century pottery was recovered. Whilst most of this excavation had been heavily disturbed by existing services, the exposed sections showed that it cut into a large, deep feature which extended beyond the northern limit of the excavation. Although no datable artefacts were recovered from this probable pit, the articulated remains of a horse were observed towards the base, the majority of which was left in situ
Digital Archive from a Magnetometry Survey at Gate Farm, Stanley Lane, Chippenham, Wiltshire, May to June 2024
This collection consists of images, GIS and a vector graphic from a geophysical survey, comprising detailed magnetometry, by Archaeological Surveys Ltd. Work occurred over 5.5ha on land at Gate Farm, to the south of Stanley Lane, Chippenham, Wiltshire, from May to June 2024, ahead of a proposed residential development. The anomalies identified generally lack a coherent morphology and cannot be confidently interpreted as cut features. Evidence for ridge and furrow and widespread magnetic debris has also been located
Data from an Archaeological Recording at Southam Central, Warwickshire, 2021 (HS2 Phase One)
This collection comprises images, site records, reports, spreadsheets, a harris matrix, databases, and GIS and photogrammetry data from archaeological recording works within an area known as Southam Central, Warwickshire. This work was undertaken by Connect Archaeology between April and October 2021 as part of the High Speed 2 (HS2) infrastructure project. The archaeological remains uncovered appear to represent the remains of a pit alignment dating (at the earliest) to the Late Bronze Age, with potential final closure at the end of the Early Iron Age. To the south of this, the remains of a Middle Iron Age rural roundhouse settlement were identified and to the north of this, remains of a 3rd-4th century AD kiln, situated on the periphery of a substantial 2nd-4th century Romano-British rural settlement and field system. One isolated cremation pit was noted during trial trenching and confirmed to be an isolated feature during the archaeological recording phase, which likely related to the prehistoric period

The works were carried out by Oxford Archaeology East between the 11th and 15th of February 2019. This work was carried out in preparation for the future expansion of the quarry. Nine possible ditches and gullies were identified along with a large number of periglacial and other natural features. No finds were recovered from any of these features
Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Houghall Campus, East Durham College, Durham, County Durham, September - December 2024
This collection comprises images and site records from an archaeological evaluation at Houghall Campus, East Durham College, Durham, County Durham. Work was carried out by Thames Valley Archaeological Services Ltd from September to December 2024. The site is located on the southern side of East Durham College's Houghall Campus, between the city of Durham and the village of Shincliffe, on the west bank of the River Wear. Twenty 25m long and 1.8m wide trenches were excavated and recorded to assess the presence/absence, extent, condition, character, quality and date of any archaeological remains present. Geophysical anomalies were investigated and one was found to be a probable field drain and another a modern gully. A further gully revealed during the evaluation was post-medieval in date. Redeposited subsoil observed in some trenches probably relates to the previous use of the site as rugby pitches in the post war period
