Data from a Historic Building Survey at the Former Midland Railway Carriage and Wagon Works, Washwood Heath, Birmingham, May 2018 (HS2 Phase One)
This collection comprises images and spreadsheets from a historic building survey at the former Midland Railway Carriage and Wagon Works at Washwood Heath, Birmingham. This work was undertaken by Connect Archaeology in May 2018 as part of the High Speed Two (HS2) railway infrastructure project. The building recording identified an engine house, boiler room, and the remains of a factory chimney stack. The significance of the site and the area as a hub for heavy industry has been eroded by the closure of the works and other industrial sites, and the aesthetic and architectural merit of the remaining original buildings on site is limited by their utilitarian design. The historic value of the site lies in its association with and contributions to the development of railway infrastructure during the 20th century

Digital Archive from Level 3 Analytical Historic Building Recording at Slough Wood Cottage, Slough Road, Danbury, Essex, October 2024
This collection comprises images, a Written Scheme of Investigation and a Brief for Archaeological Building Recording from a Level 3 Analytical Historic Building Recording at Slough Wood Cottage, Slough Road, Danbury, Essex. The work was carried out by Colchester Archaeological Trust in October 2024. Slough Wood Cottage is timber-framed, likely constructed from timber sourced from the adjacent Slough House Wood. Using cartographic evidence and a log of timber at Slough House, the building has a suggested construction date of between 1820 and 1839. When originally constructed, it comprised two adjacent double-pile, single-fronted cottages which have since been combined into one dwelling. Some original features survive within the cottage, including some doors and the floorboards. The exterior of the cottage has a concrete render with imitation pargeting, likely added when the cottages were merged
Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation at Backbridge Farm, Malmesbury, Wiltshire, June to August 2021
This collection consists of images, spreadsheets, databases and GIS data from an archaeological excavation by Cotswold Archaeology. Work occurred on land at Backbridge Farm, Malmesbury, Wiltshire, from June to August 2021. A very small number of worked flints including a Mesolithic/Neolithic retouched blade were found. A ditch in the centre of the site, originally identified during the earlier evaluation, contained a small assemblage of Late prehistoric pottery and is suggested to be of broad Iron Age date. Evidence of Middle Roman activity was found across the narrow Area 1 excavation in the north-west of the site and comprised three sub-phases of Roman ditched enclosures. The land appears to have been used as agricultural fields during the subsequent medieval and post-medieval periods as indicated by extensive ridge and furrow and a probable postmedieval/modern field boundary
Digital Archive from Level 2/3 Descriptive and Analytical Historic Building Recording and Archaeological Excavation at Shire Hill Hospital, Glossop, Derbyshire, September 2023 - December 2024
This collection comprises images and site records from a Level 2/3 Descriptive and Analytical Historic Building Recording and Archaeological Excavation at Shire Hill Hospital, Glossop, Derbyshire. The work was carried out by Archaeological Services WYAS from September 2023 to December 2024. Shire Hill Hospital comprises the former Glossop Union Workhouse built in 1832-1834 with later-C19 and early-C20 extensions, and Infirmary built in 1896-1897 with C20 extensions. The building recording focused on the most historic structures on the site including parts of the original workhouse, workhouse infirmary and a small cottage building. The excavation work followed a previous trial trench evaluation and involved the investigation of three areas of the site where former workhouse buildings once stood. The project produced evidence for the development of the site from extant historic structures and excavations of the remains of demolished early buildings of the workhouse

Digital Archive from a Magnetometry Survey at a Proposed Battery Storage Facility, West Kingsmill Farm, Landulph, Cornwall, May 2024
This collection consists of a vector graphic, GIS and geophysics data from a detailed magnetometry survey by Archaeological Surveys Ltd. Work occurred ahead of a proposed battery storage facility at West Kingsmill Farm, Landulph, Cornwall in May 2024. The results indicate the presence of a rectilinear enclosure within the north western part of the site. A number of former field boundaries have also been located, the majority of which are mapped in the 19th and 20th centuries. A number of weakly positive linear anomalies can be seen, but it is not clear if these relate to cut features with an anthropogenic origin or natural features within the underlying slate geology
