    WhiteDolphin: A TAC travel agent.

    No full text
In this paper, we detail our WhiteDolphin agent that was designed for the Trading Agent Competition (TAC) Travel game. Specifically, we employed the multi-layered IKB framework to design our strategy, and describe the intricate cogs involved at the different layers in this complex decision-making process. We focus, in particular, on WhiteDolphin’s strategic behaviour when bidding in the different types of auctions involved in the game, and how the information and knowledge required to support the complex decisions made is gathered and inferred respectively. Finally, we empirically analyse our agent by considering its performance in the 2006 competition where it ranked third

    TAC-1 Antibody Validation.

    (A) Verification of TAC-1 antibody using IF imaging of one-cell mitotic embryos. TAC-1 localizes to centrosomes, and colocalizes with ZYG-9, as previously described [14,33]. No staining occurs following tac-1(RNAi), demonstrating that TAC-1 staining is specific. Consistent with previous studies, TAC-1 depletion leads to loss of ZYG-9 at centrosomes and results in defects in mitotic spindle positioning and spindle length. Bars = 5μm. (B) Verification of TAC-1 antibody using IF imaging of oocyte spindles. TAC-1 is localized to acentrosomal poles and is colocalized with ZYG-9. Oocytes treated with tac-1(RNAi) do not have any TAC-1 signal and also lose localization of ZYG-9 to acentrosomal poles (5/5 spindles). Bars = 2.5μm. (TIF)</p

A,Left, Representative 2D images and Doppler traces across the aortic arch in sham-operated and TAC mice at 8 w after surgery demonstrating marked elevated blood flow velocity in TAC mice. Right, corresponding group data for the pressure gradient in the same groups measured serially over time. B, Representative M-mode echocardiograms performed at various time points after TAC or sham surgery, along with group data for LV posterior wall thickness at end-diastole (LVPWd), relative wall thickness (RWT, 2 * LVPWd/end-diastolic diameter), LV end-diastolic volume (EDV), and LV ejection Fraction (EF). n = 5–6 in sham groups and n = 6–8 in TAC groups. *p<0.05, **p<0.01, ***p<0.001 vs. sham.</p

    Tac-S Tajima's D

    No full text
Tajima's D output for 1000bp windows for Tac-S. There is no option in the script to suppress the non-informative windows, so there are lots of windows with "na" that fail the coverage criteria so no calculation is made

Copernicus Marine In Situ TAC. Quality Control Procedure

    No full text
This document specifies the additional quality control procedures performed by Copernicus Marine In Situ TAC before distributing ocean in situ data and metadata. This procedure follows the recommendations endorsed in 2010 by the EuroGOOS data-meq working group completed by the regional expertise of the Copernicus Marine In Situ TAC data scientist

Mertacor 2009 Demystified: Strategies and Guidelines for Market Design in TAC

    No full text
Current global economy involves highly interconnected markets competing with each other for market share and profit. The recent global financial crisis has revived research interest in this competition and has brought out the need for novel, efficient rules. TAC Market Design tournament is one of the first efforts in studying the interaction between opponent stock exchanges. In this paper, we describe our entrant for 2009, Mertacor, and reason about the importance of proper pricing in this global setting

Characterizing effective auction mechanisms: Insights from the 2007 TAC market design competition

    No full text
This paper analyzes the entrants to the 2007 TAC Market Design competition. It presents a classification of the entries to the competition, and uses this classification to compare these entries. The paper also attempts to relate market dynamics to the auction rules adopted by these entries and their adaptive strategies via a set of post-tournament experiments. Based on this analysis, the paper speculates about the design of effective auction mechanisms, both in the setting of this competition and in the more general case

Meeting: TAC Meeting, 3d, 10-13 Apr. 1972, Roma, ITNotes on priorities in international agricultural research discussed by the Technical Advisory Committee. Discusses the terms of reference of the TAC, suggested priorities for research (e.g., food production, food crops, industrial crops, social research, economic research), and criteria for decision making
