Geometric Properties of Randers and Other Changes of Rizza Manifolds

    No full text
[[abstract]]In this paper we study the β-change of Rizza manifold associated with the generalized Finsler metric. It is proved that Randers change preserves the C-reducibility. We consider the Randers-change (superscript *)L=L+β and proved the conditions for Rizza manifold to be C-reducible, Berwald and Landsbergian. Also we obtain condition for Rizza manifold to be C-conformal to a locally Minkowski space

Rizza R. (2017), Le politiche del lavoro di fronte ai nuovi rischi sociali: una rassegna

In post-industrial economies social risks have changed. If the main risks in the industrial period were linked to the loss of a secure job and to the period of inactivity (retirement), social risks are currently related to the difficulty of stabilizing work careers and income, and to the impediments concerning the reconciliation of work with caring activities. Nonetheless, the difficulties in the stabilization of work careers produces long-term effects both in terms of income protection during the repeated phases of unemployment, and in relation to economic security at the time of retirement. Fragmented careers impose investments in training and in human capital as well. Nowadays, new and old risks overlap just when job insecurity, income instability, increasing fragility of family support are intertwined, requiring welfare systems both traditional and innovative protection capabilities. Thus, rapid obsolescence of skills; career instability in the entry phases; income protection due to job loss; promotion of activation; difficulties in reconciling work and family life, are proposing new challenges to labor market policies

Computational approaches to orthographic variability in cuneiform bilinguals: The case of scriptio plena in Hattic

    No full text
The issue of textualizing different languages into cuneiform in the archives of Hattusa, and the spelling strategies adopted to represent their distinct phonetic and phonematic realities, is well known among Anatolian scholars. In this paper, we aim to provide a quantitative approach to this issue, focusing on the phenomenon of scriptio plena in Hattian documents, both Hattian and bilingual with Hittite. Our goal is to complement the traditional philological approach with quantitative data derived from computer-based analysis. We concentrate on spelling strategies, always taking the written syllabogram as our unit of analysis rather than the syllable it represents, whether alone or in combination with others. After a brief status quaestionis (§2), we detail how to structure data collection and parsing using automated strategies (§3) and apply statistical methods to our corpus (§4), first investigating the possible correlation between scriptio plena of vowels and scriptio geminata of consonants (§4.1) through Pearson correlation and odds ratio; then analyzing the syllabographic environments in which scriptio plena is more likely to appear in Hattian, with a comparison to Hittite (§4.2). Our analysis shows that in Hattian, scriptio plena may function as a lexico-prosodic marker, especially at word boundaries (§5).
