No full textIl libro comprende l'opera poetica integrale di Vittorio Reta: oltre a «Visas», infatti, apparso per Feltrinelli nel 1976, sono qui pubblicate per la prima volta più di sessanta poesie inedite, diverse per epoca e per connotazioni stilistiche. I testi sono introdotti da un ampio saggio storico-letterario ed ermeneutico e corredati da una nota filologica. Il libro offre anche una inedita documentazione fotografica dell'autore e un cd allegato con l'opera composta da Stefano Scodanibbio «Visas per Vittorio Reta», nata da una suggestione cui non è estraneo Edoardo Sanguineti.The book includes the integral poetic work of Vittorio Reta: in addition to «Visas», in fact, appeared for Feltrinelli in 1976, here are published for the first time more than sixty poems unpublished before, different by age and stylistic connotations. The texts are introduced by a large historical-literary and hermeneutic essay and accompanied by a philological note. The book also offers an unpublished photographic documentation of the author and a CD with the opera composed by Stefano Scodanibbio «Visas for Vittorio Reta», born from a suggestion received probably by Edoardo Sanguineti

Il contributo evidenzia il forte legame della scrittura di Reta con esperienze biografico-esistenziali e l'altrettanto forte vincolo con la letteratura della neoavanguardia italiana, in particolare con i testi poetici di Edoardo Sanguineti e di Alfredo Giuliani spesso usati da Reta come ipotesti a cui attingere per successivi montaggi. Il saggio inoltre commenta, e interpreta criticamente, per la prima volta, i testi poetici inediti di Reta.The essay offers an extensive analysis of the entire poetic work of Vittorio Reta, from «Visas» to unpublished texts published for the first time in 2006. The contribution highlights the strong link between Reta's writing with biographical-existential personal experiences and the equally strong bond with the literature of the Italian neo-avant-garde, in particular with the poems of Edoardo Sanguineti and Alfredo Giuliani. The essay also comments, and critically interprets, for the first time, the unpublished poetic texts of Reta

No full textThe tributary status of Wälaytta peasants, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century is widely acknowledged in the literature; however, it is not adequately analysed. The current paper is aimed to address this problem. The article is based
on previously underutilised local press, oral history, archival materials and published and unpublished secondary sources. The article shows how the Wälaytta peasants evolved from a non-exploitative tributary status (when Wälaytta was as an independent state) to qurt gǝbr, a fixed tribute levied on some of the newly conquered polities and later to oppressive yäquṭǝr gäbbar system, characterized by inequality, coercion, oppression and exploitation. The system created an asymmetrically dependent status of the local population. Yäquṭǝr gäbbar system was hierarchically institutionalized and hence local people couldn’t change their situation despite recurrent protests
