No full textIn the early modern centuries, a number of countries in Europe established pioneering laws dedicated to the protection of what they tough of as ‘heritage’. These early forms of safeguarding reflected aesthetic perceptions, cultural backgrounds, political interests, as well as economic and religious concerns of each relevant place. This study analyses the most significant of these early decrees in a comparative perspective, aiming to understand the development of the first concepts and instruments elaborated to protect antiquities and artefacts in 15th- to 18th- century Europe. As will be argued, some of these early constructs prove to be still valid and fully effective at the present time

Full text link Il presente contributo propone una lettura comparata delle vicende che hanno legato la Svezia allo Stato Pontificio in relazione allo sviluppo di un primo sistema di tutela del patrimonio scandinavo durante il 1600. Nell’intento di porre in dialogo la scena politica e propriamente culturale della Svezia con questioni storiche quali la Guerra dei Trent’anni, le tensioni tra cattolici e protestanti, e la necessità di costruire un’identità nazionale per il popolo svedese, viene recuperato un brano riguardante la nascita della tutela del patrimonio in Europa rimasto sostanzialmente escluso dagli interessi della più recente storiografia artistica. Posto in relazione con le esperienze della Roma pontificia, il cosiddetto Placat per la protezione dei beni scandinavi assume un significato specifico: non più editto di tutela “più antico del mondo”, come ritenuto nella tradizione svedese, esso diviene iniziatore di uno dei primi istituti per la catalogazione e la ricerca archeologica in Europa. This article proposes a comparative interpretation of the events that connected Sweden to the Papal States, in regards to the establishment of an early system of protection of the Scandinavian heritage in 1600s. Aiming to relate the political and cultural scene of Sweden with historical issues – such as the Thirty Years’ War, the conflicts between Catholics and Protestants, and the need to shape a Swedish national identity – the author clarifies substantial questions on a specific aspect of the history of the heritage protection in Europe that have been generally disregarded by recent art history scholarship. Connected to the experiences of the Papacy in Rome, the so-called Placat for the preservation of Scandinavian antiquities acquires new significance: no longer accepted as the “oldest law in the world” on this subject, as a Swedish tradition used to believe, it can be regarded as the initiator of one of the earliest institutes devoted to cataloguing and archaeological research in Europe

No full textCome comitato scientifico e organizzativo, il compito che ci siamo assunti non è stato semplicemente renderre omaggio alla memoria di Tiziano Mannoni, e ricordarne l'opera a dieci anni dalla scomparsa, ma evidenziare cosa, e quanto, dei suoi insegnamenti è presente, e vitale, nelle ricerche che conduciamo. L'archeologia di Mannoni era un'archeologia che, se non usiamo "globale" potremmo definire generosa ed estroversa. UN'archeologia che oggi è di moda definire "democratica". Dove, nel rispetto dei ruoli e competanze, c'è spazio per chiunque voglia contribuire ad accrescere le conoscenze, storiche e sui materiali, e le occasioni di riflessione per consentire la fruizione del patrimonio. DOve fruizione significa sia libertà di ricerca, sia utilizzo concreto dei beni comuni, per goderne essendo informati. No full textIn the story Luo Dadou’s life (Luo Dadou de yisheng 罗大斗的一生), Lu Ling 路翎 (1923- 1994) gives shape to the deepness of human psyche and stresses the suffering of the Self of his age by giving a brilliant emphasis to human individuality. The author succeeds in doing so by cre- ating an amazing psychological characterization of the main character, both by means of words and by means of grammatical structures. By applying Denton’s categories for the study of the Self in modern Chinese literature, I analysed Lu Ling’s short story from the Freudian and Kleinian psychodynamic perspective, so to demonstrate how Lu Ling enters his characters’ minds and wonderfully recreates the psychological dynamics inside and between them

No full textLa restituzione del museo alla città di Roma da parte di Gregorio XVI, la nomina di un ‘Presidente perpetuo’ e un consistente scambio di opere con i Musei VaticaniDespite Clemente XII entrusted the Capitoline Museum to the Conservators of the City of Rome in 1734, during the first years of the XIXth century the Museum returned under the influence of the Steward of the Vatican Apostolic Palace. The dispute that followed, opposing the Capitol and the Vatican, was based on the fact that the Conservators continued to support a collection that was not under their control. An agreement was found in 1838, when Gregorio XVI returned the institute to the City of Rome and the Conservators elected Giuseppe Melchiorri as President of the Capitoline Museum. At the same time, the Motu Proprio of Gregorio XVI established that all the Egyptian sculptures in the Capitoline galleries had to pass to the Vatican galleries, in order to create the new Gregorian-Egyptian Museum; on the other hand, some sculptures selected in the Vatican had to pass to the Capitol. In this context, Melchiorri was the leader who managed both the transferring of artworks between the two collections and the remodelling of the Capitoline Museum after the new pieces were acquired
