No full textThe paper addresses the topic of in-work poverty from a legal point of
view. The author argues that in addressing this issue a different approach
must be adopted, focusing on the most vulnerable workers. Particular
attention is paid to two factors underlying this phenomenon. Firstly, job
quality, including both the kind of job a person is employed in and wage
levels. To this respect, the paper focuses on wages, the application of art. 36
of the Constitution, the problems related to the implementation of this
provision and the debate on the introduction of statutory minimum wage in
Italy. Then, it is stressed the importance of increasing work intensity of
household, through policies aimed at promoting female participation in the
labour market, such as measures aimed at promoting an equitable
redistribution of care responsibilities in the family

In-work poverty in Italy
No full textThis chapter focuses on in-work poverty in Italy. After introducing the most
important elements in the Italian production and regulatory system having
an influence on in-work poverty, the focus turns to a targeted analysis of the
four Vulnerable and Under-Represented Person (VUP) groups. First, the
composition and the direct measures that affect in-work poverty are considered
for each VUP group. The measures that indirectly influence in-work
poverty of the four VUPs by type of household are then analysed. Finally,
some concluding remarks are provided on the strengths and weaknesses of
national legislation and on how it affects the different VUP groups

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
